What about working on the fuel deal. Tell me what are you guys tring to accomplish by pumping $8.95 91 octain fuel at sign up?
    Does it eliminate fuel tech?
Does it help the racers budget?
    CSC had 110 racers X 8.95 X 4 gallon minimum= $4000.00
What is the $2600.00 profit per race doing?
The CSC doesn’t race, has no tracks to maintain, I think they even use the tracks trophies and workers to put on the races.

Lord I apoligize to all that do receive compensation for the work that they do. But what happened to those large checks we used to see on the podiums? Heck with that, do the kid karts still pay the same as the adult classes? OK while I have my whine and cheese out, what is the differance between Novice and Pro shifter besides which podium you go up to when your fast?

These are just some thoughts rolling through my mind which may be totally wrong, if I knew how to do things right I’d be racing.

    Hay Thanks Rick,
The Fat black cat crawled out from under the motor home during a stop on the way home, darnet……. I sort of wanted it to make freinds with the Blind dog and live happily ever after in Grand Junction. O well at least it isn’t a Flat black cat now.

It was really fun to be back on the track, but it would have been better if I could have gotten in the way of at least one guy. Boy I am out of shape, now I have to apologize for laughing at the old guys I used to see wearing D rings to hold there head in place.
I wouldn’t mind trying to prepare for the next race. I am in need of a shop that can test the old ignition system’s I have to see if any are good. I also am in need of a larger radiator.
I need more motor and more driver. Can we knock these 20 lap mains down to about 6-8?
O-ya,,,, Thanks A LOT Craig, now how can I go back to thinking I used to be fast.
As an old Briggs nut, I will say I am really pleased with the bang for the buck my shifter is giving me.

“pulse line has to be flexible! no exceptions.”

Why is that Rich? I don’t think that is true. In fact the pulse single would be better through a stiff line than through a flexing line. I have even used steel braided pulse lines.
I do like the Tygon fuel line.

I recieved sort of an interesting Briggs service bulletin about bulk fuel line. Seems the standard 1/4″ SAEJ30R6 fuel line can be used on any B&S engine for fuel related repairs, Except in the state of California.

“In the State of California Low-permeation hose MUST be used for fuel related repairs on B&S engines manufactured after June 30, 2005
This hose meets the most stringent emission regulations so it can be used outside California as well.”

Sorry this isn’t related to shifter kart racing, yet it may be worth trying out, if you wanted cheap bulk black fuel line that will probably hold up well.
    PN # 792020 1/4SAE 30R7 barrier G 1/2″ OD X 1/4″ ID.

I just thought it was funny and interesting that even fuel lines are considered and tested by Briggs in an effort for them to reduce evaportive emissions. It even comes with a freshness date on the side of it.

Restricted animal’s? No way, that’s what the grass roots national orginizations do so we can’t be doing that. 😯
Besides animals are too fast and cost too much so the mini max has to be the answer.

    David and CCWogrin,
Thanks for sharing your new comers view.

If you guys aren’t carefull with all this talk, we could have a nother five year plan for next year. Sorry but that is sort of funny.
Keep on worken at it, I might have me a little grand racer too in my 5-10 year karting plans.
What a Great place to be so Free as to choose our own troubles.

Isn’t club racing for the first time racer and the CSC is for the racer that wants more regional racing?
The only safty issue I see is that if you enter CSC as a first time racer and can’t safely race.
Really novice shifter is for first timers in a shifter kart.
There is over three second differance in the TAG class field. Are you suggesting that a split in that class is needed to run it safe too?

Brian, There are kart races at race tracks. If you want to race in the races follow the races rules. Don’t like the rules? Don’t race, or orginize your own race track and rules. It is that simple. The only one that looks to be worried is you.
Hay I am still bitter over the mixing of ICC’s and Moto motors in every darn shifter class. I never felt it was the right thing to do. But you know what? So what, that’s the way it is and if I want to play I have to follow the rules. Life is simple, what are you going to do to screw it up?

I too would think rain or shine should be in the rules.
Yet we do seem to have a little different type of weather patterns that make racing in the rain more like racing in a storm. The weather moves fast, lots of wind and sometimes hail and lightening is acompanied with the rain. I just don’t know how it would pan out when most of our rain storms are shorter than most races.
Heck the places I have been working in Colorado this year, I haven’t seen a day with out snow yet.

Maybe there should be a nother question in your pole.

Did you decide not to join CSC because of the lack of direction of the rules orginizers made it easier to decide not to orginize your own efforts to join?

That’s a little mean, yet it needs to be said. For me to devote 9 weekends of the summer and 1/5 of my income for the year to participate with a club, that club better have a set direction. I have heard it over and over, “It’s just like last year……. “Well if that was the case we could have had a set of rules last year then.
As a past racer and really a founder of the CSC idea. I wonder if other racers would like to demand a new rule for the CSC like a financial disclosure? Even the country club that I used to be a member of would show it’s members where the money came from, went and needs to go.
:idn: I could be wrong for asking this, yet is the CSC a for profit orginization like all the race tracks, or is it a Racers orginization?

That’s an adverage of 9250, if you can keep your expenses down to 5 this year.
That’s a house payment per month for people that are on a small income like me or 100,000.00 by time the eight year old is 18.
Sorry to rant and rave. I have loved racing karts for years too. As a manual Laborer that is getting old, it just becomes harder and harder to work to race and race to work. O-well I used to be a fast worker too. Now it seems I am too tired when the weekend comes to work hard enough to be a fast racer.

“Make sure you have a realistic budget to start in karting.”

Rich, don’t you have a write up with some of that figured?
Post it if you do, I think thats where I keep getting stuck on my decision making.

Good luck Rich, sounds like lots of fun. But remember it doesn’t take a computer to win a race, thank goodness.
