InactiveYou know Richard, your post was very “nice” with all the warm an fuzzies, then turned to “cold and wirey” shortly afterwards.
If you’re over this sport, make it a gracefull exit vs hanging it on a modest racing family and some hand jestures, from a young man who’s only way to communicate with most of us is through those jestures!
You were not the only one who questioned if what he ran was legal (I was in tech when the Tech Director was approached by another) How do you re-read the above post and go off the deep end? Is it really that bad?
You are truley starting to be “one of them” (bitchers) I like you and I like them, does this mean a conflict? (sound like Jr High school?) Honestly, I hate to have seen the last post of your karting career, but you know, I’ve been told I was wrong before and didn’t want to hear it. But in the long run, the people who cared enough to tell me. May have been right. Sometimes we get emotional about what we do (you passionate Richie?) and things get said, but there are a lot of good people in the karting community.
Just hate to see you hang up the boot’s over a petty issue like this, you are much more of a “class act” than that.
Brad, Richie may not have Dyno tested the Seven. But the same people you performed Biland testing with did.
Anyway. High jacked thread?
Ron rocks!
Don’t tell him he has a disability. I bellieve he has a gift instead! Watch the man race! Watch him think (that’s right) you can see his rationale and judgement process.
Haven’t seen him on this quality of equipment before. He is like a cobra when it comes to “saving it” Anybody want to argue with that? He has raced on equipment before that most would replace as soon as possible. He has been off course and not given up track position more times than any other racer I’ve seen. One of the best set up and passers I’ve seen in this series. And not a bit dirty at the same time.
Also Richie, You’ve got to respect a man who has four different tires on his van when he shows up, but figures out a way to keep racing, I respect the desire, don’t you? (sorry Bob!)
There is only one racer on the track I pull for more than Ron, we all know who that is. I have to believe Bob and Sophie feel the same way. What a cool thing.
Cut some slack Richie! It’s like business, somtimes you get your a$$ kicked and sometimes you kick a$$
Oh God, I just copped a visual of you and Brad and this girley man thing!
I’m out!

I would never tolerate ron have a fit . i do recall ron being the only one to stop and help DUFF after his flip last season GJMS and giving up a possible podium finish, now thats the class i expect from ron and sophie!!! so we are proud to represent IMI MOTORSPORTS AND BILAND/MARGAY and thanks so much to BRAD,BOBBY,RON AND ALL THE REST STAFF that have helped us.

ParticipantTo all,
I am sorry if you think I am trying to discredit Rons race. If I could go back to Sunday I would have never talked to Dennis. I would have done what everyone else does and look the other way.
Now people have to bring budgets of racing into an exhaust issue discussion. I have been dealing with this since I started in the sport. Just this year we had to change the rules of safety wire because people were saying ” Fines do not affect RBI because they have more money then us”. And I believe God was involved in the conversation as well.
What difference does it make. Do we have to have to write 2 sets of rules? One for under $100k per year salaries and one for over????
How about this. CSC has a popularity pole and the top 10 nicest people are immune to the rules.
I have done nothing but put 100% into Colorado karting. And doing so have spent a lot of money. When I am passionate about something I do it as hard as I can. I have tried to do it the right way without bashing other people or businesses. I have received numerous e-mails saying “don’t worry about the few people nay saying as you have a lot more supporters”.
I have had to endure Colorado karting businesses constantly spread bankruptcy rumors and telling people that our chassis are the reject materials from First Karts. This seems to be the way they try to sell their product. I have had problems with my longtime friend (Track owner) because of people doing the he said she said. Luckily we figured out the BS and have moved on. Now, I get called names and am getting e-mails that hint that I am picking on a handicapped person.
I know sticks and stones right. Well the stick and stones do hurt when you put as much into karting as I did. Why can people not just show up and race?
Please to all. If you want to question my integrity or motives come talk to me. I will be in Barrys tent helping them this weekend and would love to discuss my past intentions, integrity, and if in fact I do have balls.
This is why karting is different then any other motorsport. The great debates turn to personal attacks.
Richard
I should also put a disclaimer:
These opinions are mine. If you have an issue with them come chat with me.

ParticipantRichard,
Great post only one problem. If only 10 of the nicest get overlooked I will never be able to get away with anything. Oh well if they “the CSC” had well written rules that were inforced for all it wouldn’t make a difference. This is the main reason my son is not participating this year. I know you go to STARS races where it makes no difference at all who you are or how much money you make. The rules are in black and white as well as strictly enforced right down to sticker placement. The CSC would do well to send one or more of the powers that be to a STARS race to see how it is run.

ParticipantBrian,
the CSC has rules, it has rulebooks, it enforces rules. You haven’t been racing the CSC this year, so please just leave well enough alone. Constructive suggestions are one thing, but give the bashing a break, please.Angie

ParticipantI think thats the point others leave it well enough alone no matter what. Overlook or ignore that seems to be the norm for Colorado karting.
Brian Moore
P.S. This is not bashing. I call it like I see it. Will be at the track on the 15th to practice would be more than happy to field any and all questions from anyone.

InactiveBrian,
If you are not there, how can you call it like you see it. I had a rule book in my hand before we started our first race.
As far as STARS goes, great organization but they too make mistakes. I seen them fine a dad because the sticker had been rubbed off in the race. The dad showed them one of those high priced prints of his kid on the track with the sticker in the right location and everything. Had the date, event name even the STARS logo on it. The fine still stood. In my eyes was that a mistake. Yes. Did that dad go bashing the club at every chance he could. No.
If you don’t like Colorado karting, the CSC, The Colorado Karter, CRE, IMI (who else did I forget), then please leave. There is no room for this here. Move on.

ParticipantBill,
I was at the meeting at IMI before the racing season started. The way the CSC has gone is a far cry from what was talked about there. If there are written rules I am sorry for saying there isn’t. I was going on what I have heard from other karters racing in the CSC this year that say they do not have a black and white copy of the rules. Yes my son and I have been at two different tracks practicing and have talked to current CSC karters. We are not racing this year because of past practices, and lack of well written rules. Even last year there were problems with the comer 80 class at Bandimere, but was far better than the year before “ask Angie about that one”. I see this year as a return to the past for the CSC. I would love to participate in 2007, but sorry as well that I do not just go with the flow and look the other way.
Brian Moore,
P.S. I know who you are talking about with the sticker problem. I was at that race as well. I know mistakes are made “even at stars”. I have seen within Colorado karting not only mistakes made but decisions made on favortism.
P.S.S. What can I do to help make the CSC better for 2007. This is not a joke, but a very serious question. So please don’t put just don’t show up Brian.

ParticipantRichard,
We don’t consider Ron handicaped the last time I checked I hadn’t known anybody who had turned a lap with their ears on the wheel.Bob Reed
