Gee Chaz, maybe it’s not a kart thing and you just don’t like reading the truth. Would you miss karting more, if we just said you were fast at one time?

Craig, dito on cleaning the carb/insides. I don’t have any experiance with the rotax carb, yet it sounds as if the pilot jet is clogged. It is the smallest jet hole, so it is also easy to clogg and the hardest to see if it is clogged. Just use the green fuel to Tune for 5,000 feet above the ponds.

Thorton, You might see what the track has that is very close to your office.
Seems like it would be good to try and support the place you plan on useing. Heck they might even keep it stored there for after them bad days at the office.

I can’t remember, probably while grocery shopping with the wife. I am always looking for racing stuff, when I saw a turky baster or the feed store and bought a large animal serringe(sp).

I am also a DIY’er. I liked using a large liquid plunger with a clear hose and master cylinder barbed fitting. Screw it in and force feed the old stuff out.

I do agree Curt. But it shure seems that “our” weather around here is a little different than weather where a lot of other series run.
Our rain comes quick and hard and is often over before all the manipulation and decission making can even be completed.
I’ll keep playing it by ear. If waters in my ear I’ll either bolt some treads on or go for the cooler.

Street races have always been rain or shine, so I would think Greeley would be run that way?

Jim it doesn’t take a dyno to figure the end result the racers would have to spend to play in stock moto. Doug is spot on with the forseen problems the stock moto class has.
ICC is into this thread, because $3500.00 can buy you a 2006 kart racing motor that is allowed to be run in many shifter classes rather than just one.
Shure they cost more to maintain at a competitive level. But with out the elimination of loop holes the stocker honda is going to cost more to maintain to a competitive level too. Isn’t May when the CSC will release the rules we are going to use anyway? Tech issues, are always performance issues, when they are not, it’s called safety tech.

    Doug said:
“Let me ask you, would you spend $1500 on a PI in stock case if you knew you could lose it in a grid swap? The guy who gets the cheater box gets to go like stink! (at least for that day)”

Ya you know me, I wouldn’t spend $1500 on that, but I am sure I and many others would spend it if it ment that I could make a nother PI out of the stock box I got from the previous race to try it again at the next race.
Are you tring to say that the people that can do it now are going to stop doing it? Some people buy speed and some people make speed. The people that make speed are the ones that sell speed, because they know how to make more.

Nice, not that it really matters to me, but one thing sounded sort of weird to me.

“If the tech people suspect an altered ignition, they can just come through the grid collect all the CDI boxes and redistribute them. Fair and simple.”

Simple ya, but fair to the guy that ended up with the other guys suspect ignition box to run the main with?

How sosphisticated is it to be able to test stock boxes? :loony:

Don’t cry Craig. I am always here.
Nice early numbers in the TAG Masters, Jr. Briggs, and mod Animal.
My sponsor suggested that I get rid of some stuff before I get more. So I hope JB has a big dumpster for what ever I have left after the swap meet on the 25th. Just kidding, I couldn’t do that with perfectly good tiller parts.
I do have tons of work lined up, if my elboy greese holds up through March I might have some money to invest towards my trophy wall of shame.

Kirk, They are talking about the rear bumper. Take it off and see how the rubber gromet is used to keep it on. It can be tight to where it would be hard to twist one side of the bunper in the hole or it could be loose and twist easy.
On your seat, the first secound or third seat that you mount will not be in the right place for it to work the best. Once you get it where you think “they” want it. You might as well make a few more sets of holes for easy track changing of seat adjustment to add in testing of where it works the best for a given track, driver and conditions.
I have heard of some of them crazy racers using zip ties in these holes as well.

Good basic rule of thumb. The slower your lap times are the longer the tires can last. That said, when racing I want to wear out my tires.
Jahawley, If new tires for every race was about to scare you away from it all togather. I would strongly suggest tring to concentrate on one class to get fast in. But I do like your mix of TAG and Mod animal as if I were to race two classes that mix would work well for running new tires in TAG every CSC race and using my one race old set in the mod class.
At least our races aren’t long enough to have make a pit stop or two and use 2-3 sets of new sets of tires in a race.
