ParticipantIf it’s too cold the 18th, squirt some water out in a low spot over night and make me a little hockey rink for my Ice kart. I am bring it any way.
If I get my stuff all gathered I might just have to flee market it for a few weekends.Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantThe swap meet. Don’t worry you all ready posted that you’ll be there. 😆

ParticipantJ,
A stock either one will not work.
The choice of which one to get to build to a CSC MOD is a little tuff to make. My main choice would be to make sure if buying new you start with the version IV block be it either one. Next the animal billet wheel is needed. The WF rod has been know to work well or a billet of chioce.
CAM, springs, stud supports, and quite a few other optional parts that has sort of developed while trying to right the rules to allow the use of booth these motors to run togather in a class. Greg can lead you better to the proper parts to use in the mix this year. Or stop buy the JB’s deal and I’ll give you an ear full. I’ll have 5 of my old “Briggs mod’s” and parts there.
Hay Greg I need my part back that lost me the Championship in 04. 😥 I could use two if you have them. 🙂 Will I see you at JB’s the 18th ?Rodney Ebersole
Participant“Does anyone no the advantages of a Briggs World Formula over an animal?”
YES
Each have their own advantages. They are two similar motors made specifically for different uses. Ask a little more specific of a question then I can try to help.

ParticipantI can now only picture Rich’s little wiggle man inside the cage ball at the Fair. 😆 Mike I like reading a little about karts on a site called 4cycle.com it covers alot of different types of kart racing. Cage karts are basically a kart with a roll cage. Goggle it.

ParticipantI spent yesterday orginizing to come and could spend a couple more days digging out all the stuff in my garage.
Will there be any public advertizing done to get more than the few people that read this site to come? How about that Hwy. 470 lighted bill board? Will it be advertizing this next week?
It makes me sick to see all the good stuff I have developed over the years and to think that the only reason they are no longer used is because of the rules we choose to play by.
I would probably feel better about it if I would just start to bary a time capsule in the back yard at the end of each season to try and forget about it.
My Racing has taken me to many places, yet always leaves me going in circles. 😕Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantI never voticed last year. Is the schedual of classes ran so one could have some time between being a Senile Senior and a Master?
Is your second class/same driver entry discounted at all?Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantGary, as a 25 year one man pit crew racing operator of karts. I find it best to not worry too much about getting somebody lined up to punish with my madness of practice or even racing these things and just head to a track that has others with this sickness. Try and maintain a good smile and be helpfull to others and phantom loaders/unloaders/starters seem to appear.
I am sorry I missed Dougs clinic this year. I haven’t seen Shockwaves Greg driven stocker race yet. But I all ready think them boys most definately got to be cheeten. 😯Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantNice post Angie. A great way to explain the way it’s sort of been. No body is against them, we just need more of them guys spending gobs in all the classes.

ParticipantI do understand how to make an animal last a long time. The problem with that is the adult classes of briggs all ready get so little respect while running a 10-12 HP motor as you mentioned, so that leaves us with modding them to the hilt to make them quite fast to keep the adults interest up. Then when they figure out they need more than just one engine to race the class they end up buying one for a different class.
The animal did have quite a few problems as it was being introduced to us. The problems are pretty much fixed with in the rules of stock classes across the country. Most are running the blueprinted animals on cheep meth in stead of gas or even racing gas. Less money for the fuel, easier to tech the fuel, free additon of power, cooler running temps and cleaner internals are reasons why others and I, think meth is the fuel for us.
In fact I don’t understand why the 2 stroke crowd ties there own hands up with all this racing fuel crap and run real racing fuel in them too. Oh well, I will be interested in seeing the rules that yall seem to all ready know all about.
Russ. what do you do if your lap times are faster @ 7500 max rpm’s?
My engineered box for my animal, that you can see in my ice posting, has enabled it’s animal one crank and block to spin to 10,300 a few times with it’s target rpm of 9300 when ever I am racing it. They just start to sound proper when they are going past 10,000. I do enjoy our local guys openess to explore beyound the national rules standards of the mod animal class with alowing parts that add to a stronger more lasting combo of parts. Yet it’s still a new motor with weak spots being improved upon every day, which does make it hard to keep up and stick with a standard set of rules in the mod class. It’s very hard for me to step away from the industrial style motors. But sence I live here were sprint 2 strokes is where the numbers are, if I want to try and prove that I can beat the numbers I will have to play in their game.Hay every one I am the “Worlds” extreme ice racing Champion. I have the plack to prove it. I beet all two of the other four strokers to get it.
Yep that was a nother dissapionting turn out of four stroke racers here in Colorado. $50.00 entry with 100% payback, TV & news paper adds with 100’s of people watching and 3 karts show up. What sanctioning body can fix that?
They always say it’s the grass roots of racing that keeps it alive. I do honestly hope the Jr. class of four strokes melds togather to form the seeds to get it growing. But the jr class will need national adult racers doing a simular thing to inspire more parents to even go that rout with their little Tony Stewarts. We can all name off a few adult Colorado national sprint 2 stroke champions even call them to get some help. How many adult four stroke Colorado National champions names do you know?Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantIt would only be competitive if no mod aniamls showed up. Or if you made quite a few more mods to the blue wazoom motor to get about 17-18 ponys pumping out of it. Then with a long track like IMI there becomes a problem with the dependability/rpm/competitive factor.
Get with Greg Johnson about getting a good animal togather would be my best advise.
You could always burn up the old blue while trying to get up front. I think there where a couple of them last year.Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantRuss B. please don’t take me wrong. I think the animal and OHV motors is a great thing for karting. The only inside info I have is my experiance of running Briggs classes. For many years and races I have been disappointed at the turn out of racers to play with in adult briggs. Your Briggs classes can work yet it’s going to take the work of it’s members to make it happen. That’s a pretty tuff road when most shops in this area will direct all new customers to kid kart, minimax, jr TAG or Jr 80 stuff and WKA or IKF are just territories in the east, west or south. Heck if I had a kid I’d have them on a WF. I am wondering how I am going to get my 4 month old grandson out of Iowa and near grandpa in a few years. 🙂
Where do you go to buy this CSC Jr. I animal or adult mod animal?
I can build a pretty good briggs motor and have plenty of parts to do it.
But with any blueprinted motor in order to build a great little motor you have to know the rules and get the parts before you can start.
There are dozens of shops that all ready build these to current WKA or IKF rules. Seems it would be sort of simple to cordinate with that some where each year. But wait there’s more, The other inside scoop I have very slowly gotten, is from setting on the inside of the track or in my trailor working on a motor while my shifter and TAG brothers and sisters enjoy lots of lap time with their machines. But then again them briggs motors run just fine, it’s just when you want them to run great is when I start breaking the parts.
They say the version IV has fixed the block used on booth the animal and WF. But it hasn’t been Freezeman tested yet.
I hope Greg or IMI or any body else but me comes up with something a little more solid for builders to build to for the mod class to gain more ground.
I think I am going to box up a bunch of this briggs stuff and see if I can get rid of it at JB’s swap meet the 19th and get some water cooled, europeon stuff. But I am afraid it will be just a show of how much old crap some of us have held onto that nobody around here would want. Heck I’ll end up buying some more old stuff for my collection instead of selling it.
Some one needs to start the “Old Stuff” santioning body to fix all of our karting troubles.Russ, fill me in on your version of the rumor’s please. I got to go get a drink and pop some pop corn and I’ll be right back.
Oh, I heard the rumor that the penelty for not running the proper rear end number plate colors is a spanking from Angie. Hay that might get some more Masters on the track?
Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantOH, I almost forgot about that other sport of beer drinking.
Ya, most of my post fit that discription. But heck maybe if we talk about them four bangers a little they’ll come out to play?
My two more cents about the icc classes would be to stick with the definition of “class”where one class doesn’t get things that a nother class has. I just don’t understand the differance between a driver choosing to enter Pro(S-1) or a driver choosing Novice(S-2) for a state series championship when the equipment, weight and rules are no different. But I guess Coloado has enough ICC racers to support two classes of the same stuff, so what the heck. I just wish I had enough class to race an ICC.
It sounds like your track is ready for some auzi style racing now! Mount up the rain tires…….- AuthorPosts
