ParticipantI’m new to kart racing and was wonder if anyone thinks a Blue Wazoom engine 12.5 HP would be competive in a Modified Briggs class adult class?

ParticipantIt would only be competitive if no mod aniamls showed up. Or if you made quite a few more mods to the blue wazoom motor to get about 17-18 ponys pumping out of it. Then with a long track like IMI there becomes a problem with the dependability/rpm/competitive factor.
Get with Greg Johnson about getting a good animal togather would be my best advise.
You could always burn up the old blue while trying to get up front. I think there where a couple of them last year.February 6, 2006 at 10:40 pm #52711Joe Hawley
ParticipantSorry I’m not sure I know Greg, how do I reach him?

Participant“Does anyone no the advantages of a Briggs World Formula over an animal?”
YES
Each have their own advantages. They are two similar motors made specifically for different uses. Ask a little more specific of a question then I can try to help.

ParticipantI’m looking into running CSC road course series in the Briggs Modified Series.

ParticipantJ,
A stock either one will not work.
The choice of which one to get to build to a CSC MOD is a little tuff to make. My main choice would be to make sure if buying new you start with the version IV block be it either one. Next the animal billet wheel is needed. The WF rod has been know to work well or a billet of chioce.
CAM, springs, stud supports, and quite a few other optional parts that has sort of developed while trying to right the rules to allow the use of booth these motors to run togather in a class. Greg can lead you better to the proper parts to use in the mix this year. Or stop buy the JB’s deal and I’ll give you an ear full. I’ll have 5 of my old “Briggs mod’s” and parts there.
Hay Greg I need my part back that lost me the Championship in 04. 😥 I could use two if you have them. 🙂 Will I see you at JB’s the 18th ?February 11, 2006 at 4:54 am #52717Greg Johnson

ParticipantThe swap meet. Don’t worry you all ready posted that you’ll be there. 😆

ParticipantThanks for all of the information, and I’ll be at the swap to meet all of you. I do have one other of the subject question on cost, I was talking to some one who was telling me you must put new tires on before every race, one set per day of racing. With the cost of tires ie $160.00 a set that makes a racing day over $200.00 is this information true? :idn:
