ParticipantMaybe there should be a nother question in your pole.
Did you decide not to join CSC because of the lack of direction of the rules orginizers made it easier to decide not to orginize your own efforts to join?
That’s a little mean, yet it needs to be said. For me to devote 9 weekends of the summer and 1/5 of my income for the year to participate with a club, that club better have a set direction. I have heard it over and over, “It’s just like last year……. “Well if that was the case we could have had a set of rules last year then.
As a past racer and really a founder of the CSC idea. I wonder if other racers would like to demand a new rule for the CSC like a financial disclosure? Even the country club that I used to be a member of would show it’s members where the money came from, went and needs to go.
:idn: I could be wrong for asking this, yet is the CSC a for profit orginization like all the race tracks, or is it a Racers orginization?April 19, 2006 at 2:06 pm #53453Mike Jansen
ParticipantTaG Mastersm20 lap finals
over the course of time I’ve been involved in racing it seems that plenty of people wait till the last minute to sign up (myself included)(First year I didn’t wait!)
Only a few more weeks till we can say, “let’s race!”

ParticipantYou know what…. I am up to my eyeballs in getting this stuff done… for you guys. I will come back and answer your questions more completely when I have more time. If you think I made money on this thing, think again. The only money I put in my pocket was the $200 per race that I got paid for keeping the website, points, entries, admin duties, etc. The rest paid for the Race Director, Tech Director, and only the absolute hard costs (web hosting, conference calls, etc) that I use. I don’t even pay for my print cartridges and stuff from that money. All of rest, and the MG rebate money went into the banquet. I heard nice reports about the venue, meal, awards. I will give you a breakdown, like I said, when the rest of this is done.
There were rules last year. and there will be rules this year. Yes, they should have been done long ago, I will be the first to admit that. I am not the one that was working on them until recently, so I can only tell you that I am now.
There are reasons that we can’t just use the same book over, and it takes a little work to get something together. Everytime I post on here, whether it takes me 5 minutes or 10, that is time I am not spending on the rules. Ha, that makes it sound like I am making them up as I go along…. that is where the “just like last year” comes in.
They are being reformatted…. a very important procedure considering the state of SKUSA, and our not being affiliated with the new version of it. THe 125 shifter classes are not changing at all. The Junior 80 has not changed. The Novice 80 has one thing clarified, and that is that only the head gasket surface may be machined, no other machining period ( that clarification came from Dennis Zickrick). The K80 is up in the air, it will either be Box Stock Sealed or compatible to Stars – that decision obviously needs to be made immediately so this thing can be printed IN WHOLE (last year SKUSA left out all of our local options that we were promised in a book) TAG Classes by TAG USA, but the rule book spells it out, it doesn’t just say see TAGUSA. Mini Max will follow RMAX rules, but same thing, the rule book spells them out. General procedures are very similar to what we have always run, with the obvious difference that there is no National Appeal. What happens on race day ends on race day unless the Tech Director decides to take a motor for further evaluation. I am sure I missed something, but you’ll see it all soon. I am getting back to it this minute, and you won’t hear from me again until they are done.April 19, 2006 at 6:08 pm #53455Anonymous
InactiveAngie,
Don’t forget to pick-up the kids, clean house, do laundry and by all means don’t forget to Biggie size Ken’s McDonald’s happy meal. Finish the rules so you can start painting the house next. Did I leave anything out. :sun:
Just your things to do list,

ParticipantMy mole (Mikaela’s best friend’s brothers Uncle’s brother in law) told me that through her sources you actually DID get an extra $10.00 from CSC to spend at Dairy Queen for the kids, except Cole didn’t get one (is that why he never smiles?) 8)
Your time is worth money and so are your supplies. Charge us for the print cartridges they add up too!
I for one know that yain’t getting rich doing this so keep up the good work!
PS Tell Ken the cost of saying nice things is going to cost him the toy in his Happy Meal…

Angie, I think you said something very important there. You’re taking all the flak–and frequently apologizing–but this is not solely your responsibility. It would be nice if others stepped up and took some of the responsibility for the delays, rather than letting you get stuck with both the work and the criticism.
I’m also guessing that a lot of us–maybe even you especially–will be much more interested in affiliating with some national organization (e.g., WKA) next year. Then we’d all have the rules in hand and have to find something else to complain about (which, of course, we would!!)
Keep up the good work, Angie!!
