ParticipantGood job Greg and Dave! I can’t hold a candle to the level of driving you guys are up against but I hope you both know that all of us in the Colorado Karting community are e-rooting strongly for both of you. Keep fighting hard.

ParticipantWe’re pulling for you guys. Good luck Greg, Zip, and Marc! I’ll be watching this site and EKN for qualifying results.
I’m offering one free custom driving suit from Orion’s closet for any STARS podium finishers. Good luck gentlemen.

ParticipantI am about to break out some of my new driving suits (CIK level 11) to woo Mikeala next time I see her with her guard down. Check out some of the new action below. Don’t hate

ParticipantJansen, Consider this as your official notice that I am going to steal your seester. When do I get to see this ephemeral “Mikeala” that you brag about?

ParticipantNormally I like practice on raceday simply because of the increased tracktime and my personal sense of getting my money’s worth. HOWEVER, I realize that the race on the 22nd is a special case due to the high numbers expected that day. The 22nd is not a ‘normal’ club race day because of the special circumstances. I’ll be practising on saturday to make sure my (recently improved) game is ready for gameday.
Jansen…you are centered in my crosshairs. Team Hardkart with the new DOMINATOR motor is coming for you.

ParticipantAngie, thanks for letting my daughter hang out in the tower with you all day. She felt VERY important, i hope she wasn’t too much of a bother.

ParticipantWelcome to karting. You’ve found a great resource here on the interwebs. Also check out ekartinews.com for other ‘new to karting’ information.
Ref your question of which motor and chassis, Rotax is ONE answer, but definitley not the ONLY answer. Tag is great because of the variety of motors allowed. Enjoy your shopping experience.
Ref your question of which series to run, for your first year, I’d stick to club racing. The CSC (Colorado Sprint Championship) is for those who might be looking for a higher level of regional competition.
Keep asking questions, we’ll help you out.

ParticipantGet a new avatar, Jansen. I can’t take your smack talking seriously when it is coming from Bugs Bunny.
At least Orion (my avatar) looks serious as he stares you down from behind THE MASK.

Kirk,
The only gold showing up Sunday will be my gold lame manthong…
I could change my mind though for a price… What kinda beer you totin’ ’round??? 8)Jansen, since you are the big WINNER, you are permitted to wear the gold. Gold is for winners. And I’ll be bringing Pabst Blue Ribbon, it matches my kart. Blue Ribbons are for winners, too.

ParticipantI’m looking forward to BIG AIR over the rumored jump. I’ll be there practising on saturday.
Team HARDKart Dominator doesn’t care WHICH direction, we know we’ll be policing the rear of the field with Flair and Style. Watch out TaG Masters, I’ll be doing a pre-grid style check to ensure all suits are clean and helmets are polished. Gold chains are mandatory. (see avatar)

ParticipantTroy, I run 11/83 at the track in both directions. Use the ballpark estimation of each tooth +/- your baseline will equal 200 revs, therefore use your baseline and figure out how many revs you want to turn and gear appropriately.
FYI with 11/83 I am right around 15k, to 15,200 depending on how well I exit the corner before the straight. I want my motor to last a bit so i try not to twist it too high.
hope that helps.

ParticipantThat guy WISHES he had my stylish one-piece polyester jumpsuit. Oh..and my immaculate hair.
Well I suppose Jansen wishes he had my hair, too.

ParticipantThanks Graeme! Keep working on that highlight reel, I’m looking forward to it.

ParticipantNick, I got my kart to the track in the back of my subie. Don’t do it. I only did it about 3 times before I bought the trailor. You’ll spend an hour (or more) putting it all together once you get to the track. Not fun when everyone else is out ripping around.
Get the harbor freight trailor. I have it and it works great. Welcome to karting. Keep asking questions, we’ll help you out. I just started last year, I kinda know what you are going through.
