Rich…maybe Jim didn’t NEED to advertise..If you build it, they will come. This was my first race. I had a great experience. Luckily I pitted next to Greg (mod moto–59yrs young) who had all the tools that I now realize I need. Greg’s wife was kind enough to let my 4 yr old daughter take up semi-residence in their 5th wheel slice of pit-paradise. Extra thanks to all the others who loaned me bolts and lead for my sled.

I raced my Easykart in the TaG class and had a blast. I suck, but I accomplished my goal of not taking anyone out with a stupid move. I think I obeyed the waving blue flag well and gave room for faster traffic.

Thanks to Jim, Ben, Ed, Angie, et al. for a great experience. Ian the tech guy and grid guy didn’t make me feel like an idiot when I had the clueless stare of ‘what now?’ He helped me out. Thanks Ian.

Hey Devil Dog, you gonna be out at Centennial on Sunday for the race? I’ll be out there with my Easykart, it would be nice to race another EK.

Hope you find some gas. I didnt know about this TK motorsports joint. Good to know.

When do I get to meet Apple?

Is she the girl (excuse me, WOMAN) in the Kartsport poster? Or is this a real, live, local girl?

Or is this a fantasy of the ‘hard-up’ karter dads and teens?

I need an umbrella girl…is she available?

Dewane, since you are in the Springs, check here: http://www.cremotorsports.com for deals and kid kart programs. I believe that George (the owner) would be very happy to help you out. I think they have a great kids’ program there as well.

Good luck and welcome to the community.

I just read through the STARS rules for the ‘spec racer’ class. It states that the flex pipe length is ‘open’ (no restrictions on max/minimum). Hmmm, I’m sure there are points of diminishing returns but can anyone provide a baseline number?

Hi Joe, it is AWESOME to drive, the tight parts flow together well and the track gradually opens up for the fast sections.

As for gearing, I was geared too short with my 11/84 combo, I will try again with 11/82 or 11/80. I was definitely on ‘overrev’ at the end of the straight.

I’m going to that shiny new twisty racy place down in Centennial. Don’t know if it will be Sat or Sunday. Both days are supposed to be nice.

Good to hear Brad is paving next year! Tasty…

hope to see some of you @ The Track

Jim, can you arrange for a private jet for me? Will my kart fit in the cargo hold? I need to get from North Denver to Centennial. Maybe just a chopper then? hahahahaha. I am PSYCHED!!

Duff, excellent idea. If i may, I’d like to offer one suggestion. Alot of people understand dirtbikes and what it takes to go riding (money, proper gear, etc). I have had alot of luck when people ask “how much does it cost” instead of saying 5 or 6 grand, just say ‘about as much as a dirtbike’, the light bulb seems to go on when I am speaking to people about the sport. When someone hears a number like that they glaze over and think “boy that’s alot, i see those karts at wal-mart for 800 bucks” and they drift away. However when i give them the idea that the expense is similair to a dirtbike, they immediately think of how many of their friends have dirtbikes and they think “hey, maybe i could do this!” Just a thought about what has worked for me. Thanks for taking the initiative on this info booth.

OK…turns out lock nuts are GOOD. Nothing fell off this time. I need to work on braking (or NOT braking in some cases) and to trust my tires. Otherwise the engine ran great. Here’s a pic.

Thanks from me, too. I picked up a gas can and mix-rite cup and got a fantastic deal on a new seat so my..’larger’ friends can take some laps on the kart.

I also wanted to thank JB and the guys at the track for helping me get running on Sunday, my first session out I lost a header bolt. Luckily they had two new bolts with an allen wrench opening that allowed me to tighten the header bolts like they SHOULD have been. My day would have ended after one short session if it weren’t for their help.

THANKS GUYS! I had a great time and will be back!

Thanks Rich, I did not know that was a tuning item. A post on the Easykart board also suggested running with the rear bumper loose.

As a followup to the bearing question above, does that mean the bumper or the straight cross-piece? Does one just loosen those nuts (and they won’t fall out?) holding the cross piece?

As a sidenote: I have installed my decals (they look great), the motor is off so i could clean everything, I tried installing my seat tonight by following the easykart chassis setup guide, no dice. I have to come back and reevaluate my approach. Luckily I didn’t drill any holes yet.

J.B. I just wanted to know if the swap meet was still ‘on’ for the 18th. There are a few odds and ends I need for the season and wanted to see what size the swap meet would be. Will the vendors just be kart shops or are individuals setting up tables as well?

    Thanks!
