ParticipantRoshak Racing will be there to shake down for SuperNats. S4 fatties, beware.

ParticipantFlying Falcone! Everybody on the fence was giggling like kids each time he when through (over) the S-turns and gained back 3 or 4 kart lengths. 4 wheels in the air (on purpose) on almost every lap was pretty damn impressive. Scott, i don’t know how your back/body survived that but kudos on your air-time.
For those who weren’t there, Scott was taken out and had to start from the back in the final. He charged through the field in impressive fashion. Some of the other karts would get two wheels in the air on one or two of the curbs. Scott had none of that. 4 wheels CLEARLY in the air and a small cloud of dust. Scott was bringing the moto-x style.

ParticipantCongratulations Grant!
Great job, Greg. You are running a very good team.

ParticipantS5 Driver Evan Roshak and Team Roshak Racing are headed to the western slope this weekend to begin testing with Team CRG-USA. Hack mechanic, Kirk Deason, is looking forward to the 100 degree temps and really getting to know the secrets of I-70 over the next 3 weeks.

ParticipantWow. That is extremely generous, Scott. Thanks for making such a strong effort at promoting the series. We will be there on Saturday ready to do battle against the region’s shifter racers. Looking forward to seeing some great friends and good racing.
Folks, remember to stop by Scott’s pit and thank him for his generosity.

ParticipantGolf clap. Roshak Racing will support this awesome series. Let’s get back to the huge numbers which made Colorado Karting such a success in the past.
Any S5’s out there waiting in the wings? Any CJKC racers want to bang gears this year? We started our season last weekend with testing and motor break-ins. We’ll be at GJMS this weekend for testing and are leaving Wednesday for the Lone Star GP street Race, pitting with the always formidable and fast WOGRIN RACING juggernaut. Colorado, w00t!!
Let me close with a sincere thank you to everyone involved, teams, individuals, and track owners. Great job, everyone.

ParticipantI’m not sure what you are implying, Eddie. 😛

ParticipantYeah, I can’t argue with you on that one, Freeze. Push button start and ease of use definitely trump the old push start method of DD. I just like to be different, I reckon.
The rotax just doesn’t get my heart racing like a screaming air-cooled, lightweight, (grenade) under my right arm.

ParticipantI think you should pick one of these up and come race in the OUTLAW class at SBR. Also check out the “proper karting” page on Facebook for more of these tasty motors.

ParticipantI love the idea of fuel injection. How do they start? TaG-ish? 6k for a motor will turn people off but it will appeal to the SKUSA crowd who already spend that for a spec moto.
OK I want one. Who’s willing to give me $6500 for an 11 year old girl? For 7k I’ll throw in a puppy!

ParticipantOK OK so most people beat me. I was psyched to be racing again in a class of 16 karts, lots of happy back slapping masters and fantastic weather contributed to a fun day with the PPKRC. Everyone was welcome, it didn’t matter what motor or tires or if you had the latest 09 clutch basket (for example). It reminded me of the fun that can still be had in karting.
I’ve spent a lot of time in the SKUSA series over the last few years and people seemed so damn SERIOUS that racing at that level is like going to work. I understand WHY as the amount of money it takes to compete is eye-watering to a hayseed like me. I was pleased to be accepted to race in the Outlaw (love that name) class, no one gave me any grief about not having the latest CIK bumper, and the track owner and race staff were genuinely appreciative that we had come to race.
I had a few carb issues due to my ham-fisted adjustments which resulted in a stall exiting the pits (twice–real smooth, Deason) On the rare occassions that I got it to run, my motor was a Monster drift machine that couldn’t keep the tires in line. This may also have a bit to do with my sub optimal chassis settings on my non adjustable flexi flyer chassis.
Once I get my carb figured out, I will be coming back for more. I had a great day and would recommend anyone looking for some fun, TRUE club racing atmosphere to give the PPKRC a try at SBR Motorsports park.

ParticipantTeam HARDKart is bringing the pain to the outlaw class at the PPKRC race this weekend. No practice, old tires, and 100cc of air-cooled screaming two-stroke glory. Who wants some of this? Modified shifters? Bring it. Vampires? Bring it. Rotax? psssshh.
OK you might all beat me but I am looking forward to racing for the first time in many years. And I like talking smack.
Kirk Deason
ParticipantI was ready to beat everyone–ON SLICKS! Ok, well now i have more time to get the karts ready for INCREASED DOMINATION!
Kirk Deason
ParticipantTeam HARDKart might just be creeping out of retirement for this race in our new 100cc screamer. The original HARDKart chassis has been rebuilt to 1998 specs (only the finest) and the Parilla Swift has been freshened and track tested. While the driver is rusty (and showing up with no practice to race on sunday) the kart should be good. Thanks to Freezeman for straightening my flexi-metal and getting me back to a good baseline.

Participant3 races. one at Centennial, one at Grand Junction, and one at IMI. Maybe add PPIR (infield) and give people one drop?
