As Jim Stated, the CSC will be following TaG USA rules (above). Weights for all engines are listed in section 1.

    Hope this helps.

i have a high school friend that now works in marketing for Channel Lock tools. I just pitched him the idea of co-sponsoring the Greeley GP. He said that they have ‘scaled back their racing commitments’ this year and they were currently sponsoring the rookie of the year in BASS fishing…ok. : 😯

Well I tried. I even used some LOGIC (scary) with him. I said that we (karters) have more inclination to buy TOOLS than the average bass fisherman. no dice. Then i mentioned that their rival (snap on) seems to think karting is a good demographic. Still nothing.

Their VP of marketing thinks racing is a black hole for money. I agree. But how can we convince them or any other company to throw some marketing moola our way? Thoughts anyone?

Doug, Team HARDKart will be sending one representative. Thanks for offering this great seminar. This will really help us out. My kart arrived in the garage last night, I had to sit in it and make some vroom-vrooom sounds. Looking forward to turning some laps!

Rich…I offered to put an orange flag on a whip antenna but that got voted down. As an alternative, I’ll just drive all laps waving one hand over my head..indicating that I’m the ‘backmarker’.

I’ll be there in my pimp new easykart. From this point on, i will be referring to Easykart as Birel Spec. I hate the name. This will be my first race. Big X on the back will ID me as the newb.

Thanks to all that have helped flag the corners, work the concessions, and most importantly, the pool girls for keeping the pool clean and the beers flowing…
    Now for the REAL Story…
    I will make a formal announcement Wed. Jan 11, 2006 by 2:00pm.

    Thanks for all the excitement.

YES!! I drove out there on saturday, I drove up centennial blvd to the airport and followed bronco’s parkway ALL the way around the big circle and I saw nothing. Not even a sign. I looked for all kinds of ‘signals’ that a track was about to be built or construction was underway. Nothing, nada, zilch.

I have not lost faith. I am sure it is being built in ‘stealth mode’ not be be publicly viewed until the time is right. We’re all pulling for ya, Keesling!

I want to second (or third) the opinion of the great race this weekend. I brought my daughter again to try an indoctrinate her to that sweet smell of VP and Castor, we had a very nice time. Everyone (again) was very open and willing to chat.

A special shout out to Charlie Schiendzlos for flying the Easykart flag during th TAG senior race, rough weekend for him but I can definitely see what a challenge it is operating out of the back of your pickup against the big trailer, big money teams. I was impressed by the help that everyone gave to Charlie to help get him on track and the knowledge sharing that other mechanics provided. I was paying close attention to how ‘close’ the EK125 motor was to the front runners in the TAG race. Didn’t seem like there was any real difference (from my spectator vantage..eg: I kept watching for Charlie to get pulled down the straights on pure HP..didn’t happen)

In addition, i had a nice lunch with John Steel (starter) and he was more than helpful in showing me around and giving me a quick intro to Richard Buxman (sp?) of the RBI team, Richard then introduced me to Alan Rudolph (wow..been reading about him for awhile). Quite a class act at the RBI pits, John took me right into the trailer to meet Richard in the middle of what i would consider the ‘thrash’ to get ready, sure was nice of them to take a few seconds to chat with me about getting started.

Summary: I am sold on the hobby and definitely on the people in the sport. Now…back to saving money…Thanks again to everyone.

Stacey, thanks for the reply. I am glad to hear that you have changed processes at your track after the early season issues.

I did not mean to imply that the kart was a minimax, i just didn’t know how to identify the kart as a Jr1..that is my inexperience showing, only meant to imply that more than one motor type was racing with the minimax karts.

No I am not shying away from the sport after the incident, I just wanted to open this thread of discussion to keep it ACTIVE since the issue with this class (juniors?) has recurred. I only wanted to hear that track owners and race organizers recognize that there is a potential problem and may need to be revisited. Sidenote: I dont think my daughter even noticed.

    “Hey which way is ‘port’?”

“Ask that Coast Guard guy in the blue shirt”

    “Are we ‘coming about’?”

“nope, the Coastie is sending us back to the schooner”

“Sweet! I wanted another schooner of beer anyway”

Good point on the trail braking comment, streets. I did find that i could induce rotation by trail braking to get the nose pointed in the right direction, but I also understand this is an ADVANCED skill and will come with more track time and practice.

I saw the race results posted on EKN from the Norman race. What were your results (since I don’t know your real name, sorry)? In the results, it looked like Brett Galegor had bad luck in the qualifying and races. Comments?
