Try voting from your work computer and from your home computer. He might just get two votes for the price of one fan. A lot of these polls can be gamed that way. I’m not saying CHEAT, I’m just saying take advantage of the rules.

    Good Luck, Tony!

Definitely take your motor(s) to Greg at Unser. He’s a great resource and has been around karting his whole life. He knows all about the women that come to these kart races. It gets crazy sometimes. I can barely make it to my trailer after a race, let alone all of the ones hanging around my helicopter trying to catch a glimpse of me–and I’m just a mechanic!

Be careful running that thing on the street, lots of people here will lecture you about it. (Or, just don’t mention it anymore on this message board) As an adult, I am sure you are aware of the risks.

    What motor?

Have you driven it yet? Impressions?

Do girls throw themselves at you? (it happens)

    Ask Doug about 80cc shifters.

The entire idea behind this class is LOW COST and ease of use. This is really opening up a can of worms. Are clutches next? My vote is to keep the low end tires that last then entire season (or more). I understand the goal here is to lower lap times a little bit but after being on the other end of racing karts with huge expenses, travel costs, motors, tires that only last 50 laps, mechanics and data guys…sigh…this class is refreshing. Keep it cheap, simple, and easy for the guy off the street to grasp. If someone wants to chase laptimes, they can go to another class and spend some more money.

    Also, the voting is broken.

Is there a performance difference? Why do people switch them?

    YEAH SCHUREMAN!!

Rick and Curt–Christian has the varsity team working on his kart, and they speak pasta. And they don’t need Motrin and Alleve after lifting the kart or fiber drinks for breakfast.

Thanks guys, I’ll have to fight Evan for seat time in this thing.

Thanks for the emoticon party, Rick. Super helpful. 🙂

I don’t speak for GJMS, they just put a motor on the chassis for me and I went out and had some fun. And I liked it. I like the Duro tires, especially the part about not having to replace them every weekend for 250 bucks.

You bet! They *all* come with A gap, but it may not be the right one. (that’s a joke). They may come from the factory with the correct gap but in the course of transport, storage, sale, and getting banged around in your toolbox, the gap may change. Pick up a gap tool at the autoparts store for about a buck for your peace of mind.

Do the karters in Colorado want a state series?

If yes what would you like to see?
How many races on a weekend?
Rules, SKUSA? Rotax Challenge? TAG USA? WKA? IKF? a mix of all for our state series?
Format, how many heats? qualifying etc
How many events, any drops allowed?
What else would you like to have during the weekend?

Do we do things the quick and easy way? Change nothing except pick a couple of races from each club and apply state points to them? Then what about the tracks without club races?

Come on everyone stop being silent on this. If things are going to change we need to discuss them. Even if you do not think things should change from how they are speak up. Are their a few of us discussing a problem that does not exist? I for one want a strong state series that helps prepare us to race out of state. Racing the same track over and over does not do this. You need to travel and get used to things like the logistics of traveling, quickly tuning your setup at a new track, and even how your body adapts to food and sleep changes being somewhere different. With a series like this we still need to remember the guys that just want to do this for fun and not travel and make things to intimidating or expensive.

Cory, keep it up. Keep rattling your cage. People are disillusioned. There are lots of us who remember the great CO State series that used to be better than everyone else’s regional series. Then some people who had a lot of influence where and when certain races were run started fighting. Some skirts and blouses got ruffled and the series was destroyed. There needs to be some wound healing but, like Kistler said, time hasn’t quite healed all the wounds.

Isn’t TTAC also building a facility? Is that still moving forward?

We had a great weekend. The new chassis was awesome and we picked up a full second from our best times at summer nats. Although the good air and track temps helped, Evan’s fall practice has really paid off. Seat time is the key. I have some more work to do this week but we are leaving for Vegas feeling much better about our chances at a top ten finish in S5.

Well, I hope you feel better, Curt. I laid awake half the night second guessing myself on the seat. I’m SURE I have the measurements right but I’ll know for sure if I get to GJ this weekend and Cook looks at me, shakes his head, and starts taking my seat apart to remount it.

Your evil ways have triumphed again. I’ll get you Kistler!

Kistler, don’t you have an AARP meeting to attend?

Mikey your valuable input is always appreciated. Unlike Kistler’s.
