ParticipantThen I saw Dario’s car at the gas, err, ethanol pump. I told his crew chief that I noticed he was 2mm toe out instead of the usual 4mm. The rest is history…
Ashley gave me a call yesterday to thank me but I couldn’t take the call. I told her we’ll “do lunch” next time I’m in LA…June 6, 2007 at 4:58 am #58227Mike Jansen
ParticipantI had a nice “listening to” from AJ Foyt on Friday. He’s telling me (once again) that you can’t win any race from the first corner or the first lap and only an idjut would try that stunt. He also reminded me of the last time someone pulled a stunt on him and he biyatch slapped them. The name was Arie…
Do you know that he won LeMans in the original Ford GT with Dan Gurney and their record of most miles completed still stands… And he won Indy 4 times… And he won the Daytona 500… And numerous dirt track midget races etc etc…

ParticipantHere was the feel good story of the year. This is Davey Hamilton sandwiched between my folks. Davey had a massive wreck at Texas Motor Speedway in the summer of 2001. The injury to his legs was so severe they thought he’d lose both feet. He was transfered to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis where after 20+ surgeries he regained the use of his feet. His desire to return to the track was not to be denied and he finished 9th in the race, his first return to Indy in 6 years. One heck of a guy and a true racer.
You can always tell a race car driver who’s been injured severly. Watch them walk. Rick Mears, AJ Foyt, Davey Hamilton, Buddy Lazier to name a few…

ParticipantI met these two people in Gasoline Alley. Supposedly one was holding a sign saying “will work for food” and the other one “show us your :censored
I’m trying to confirm this with Indiana PD but they can neither confirm nor deny these allegations :devilJune 6, 2007 at 5:19 am #58230Anonymous
InactiveWent to the race as well. This is always the highlight of our year. When it wasn’t raining the action was incredible.
IMHO, the wrong guy won. 5 more laps of green and Helio would join Meyer, Shaw, Uncle Bobby, and Rutherford as 3 time winners.

ParticipantHer reaction when told she won’t be going to any CSC races and cheerleading for me or meeting any other karters. She really can get attitude and pouty.

ParticipantThe Valet arrives with my car. AJ Foyt told me some great stories about he and Dan Gurney and their victory at LeMans. They still hold the record for most miles completed, 40 years later.

ParticipantSome guy named McDreamy was there. And this woman touches him and goes CRAZY. I used to have the same affect on women when I had a full head of hair. Now I shave. More aerodynamic… 8)

ParticipantAfter an almost 3 hour rain delay here’s the finish. Dario is behind the fist. I ran into Buddy Lazier when he was heading to the driver’s meeting Saturday but never had a chance to talk and wish him well. Ex karter Phil Giebler had a rough day when he got into the marbles but won Rookie of the Year. Can’t wait till next year, only 50 weeks away till Long’s donuts, Breaded pork tenderloins, beer, ribs, fried chicken.
If you ever have an opportunity to go Indy for either the F1 race, the Brickyard or the 500 by all means go. It’s a once in a lifetime memory.
