Does anyone know (100% positive) if the mojo tire will be the spec tire for 2007? Tire contracts and sponsor dollars are very fluid.

Also, what makes a kart work better on MOJO’s vs say the spec MG’s for the CSC? and why?

Just a note, I stopped racing in the RMAX series as soon as they spec’d the MOJO tire. Has any changes been made to these tires (hardness, compound, etc…) versus when they first became the spec tire for the RMC?

One last question, it sounds as if there will be a RMC series at the Track. Will the tire be the spec RMC tire?

    Thanks,

    Tom

    Two questions:

    1) Is there a maximum set of tires that can be used during the event? I do not see that specified in the rules.

    2) On the entry form, the price of $165 for tires is for two sets?

I am in if anyone wants to either have me on there team or form a team. Sounds like a great time.

    Thanks,

    Tom

    Here is a thought.

Have a single drop for the season. You would only be eligible to use the single drop at a race that you attended.

For example, if you didn’t show for the race you are not eligible to use the one drop. On the flip side, if you showed for the race and either had mechanical difficulties, wrecked, or ran poorly you could chose to use the single drop. This would take care of those racers who are running for points and would not matter to those who are not running for points.

    Seems simple enough,

The DD2 is not the answer. Check the other forums in Southern Cal. and you will be inundated with the problems and costs of repairs as well as spares. If it was the answer the classes would be hugh already in So Cal. Most of the races are running the FR125 or have switched back to it from the DD2

    Bob,

Hope all is well with you and your family.

So who is this mystery driver? It could not have been me, only because I wasn’t there. 😛

Since the TAG Masters group is made up of men not kids, call him out by name and see what he has to say.

    Just a thought,

If you waste to much time dwelling in the past a better future will never occur.

Here is the big question I have about all of this. Since the CSC season is a month and a half away. If it was decided to run Honda wouldn’t everyone have ample opportunity to get time on the track? Also, how different can a 50cc engine possible be? I am assuming that the hang up on all of this is the extra $$$ it would take for those parents who have Comers already and not any adverse reaction to a Honda.

I am asking these question be I am not in the know and am truely trying to make a decision on my sons participation. I could care less if he wins or loses as long as he has a smile on his face.

    Brad,

I have a 5 yr old and was thinking about starting him this year. I think you have been more than generous and I was about to jump in. I do not like the idea of using the same old stuff and trying to better control cheating. Why not use supplied Honda’s and eliminate the cheating. So what if a child doesn’t have seat time with the engine. It would be a good experience for them and remove them from their comfort zone. That is called life!

How much does a kids kart Honda engine go for?

Already have plane tickets out of town for that weekend. I too would like to get it kicked off a bit earlier. I do not want to miss the race so what about the following weekend in April.

Here is what Joe Ramos Jr said about the subject

“A competitor with a valid 2006 license can gain a punch at ANY local series in the US. This is a rule change, in 2005 you could only gain a punch at your designated local series. We felt it was important to allow compeitors the flexibility to fit their schedule in with surrounding local series, giving the member an opportunity to race a different track against different competitors.”

If you read liberally into this the statement “opportunity to race a different track against different competitors” basically says we can race in the two CSC races at GJMS and gain two punches. I wouldn’t question it since this would be a great thing!!!!

I want to preface what I am going to write with the following:

    Scott your enthusiasm is great

Mike, the Broncos should clean house starting with “the Genius” and “the Snake.” I have thought this Ever since Mike S. decided to bring on a proven inept NFL QB and trade Portis for Bailey in an attempt to disguise his lack of leadership with a young, up and coming star in the case of Portis. All I can say about Jake is that a QB is not someone who should “just makes sure he doesn’t lose the game with his poor play” as so many had said this year. A QB wins games and shoulders the burden. Lastley about the Broncos which I have supported since I think I was born, not only could they not beat the Steelers do any of you really think that they could have beaten the Colts?

    Now to karting!

It always seems odd to me that so much wasted energy is put into the topics of what rules, what classes, the whole CRE and the CSC debate, agendas for the IMI yearly meeting, the cost of the membership $50 or $75 or $100, and how many races and where they are going to be held.

The one common factor is this, if you do not own a track you are simply one of the herd (myself included) waiting for direction. Does anyone outside of the choosen four (Brad, JB, Stacey, and Jim) really think they have any say. I have no resentment toward the four track owners they have invested lots of money and should reap the rewards.

    In no specific order:

Example #1: The rules that will be in place for the ’06 CSC are being rewritten by guess who, a track owner. Good, bad, or otherwise do you really think Jim would include any clause or sub clause that would negatively impact his track? I for one do not care who writes the rules. I will accept them or play elsewhere.

Example #2: The number of races went from 7 with one drop to 9 with 2 drops. Where was the vote for this?? From what I can tell there wasn’t one. A new track owner came into the mix and two more races were added. I can not even contimplate why people are even surprised by this. The writing was on the wall last year. The only question was whether or not “The Track” was going to be built. If anyone has a problem with the 9 races don’t run for points and pick which ones you want to race. Enjoy yourself and don’t stress take it from me it is alot funner! Here is a good example of this, at the Steamboat race last fall I was given something like a $50 penalty for two missing lock nuts on weight that was on my seat. Since I wasn’t running for points and the racing was over I simply chose not to pay this and get a DQ. It did not seem to register to Dennis that I had my fun and in the end points for where I finished made no difference at all.

Example #3: The cost of the membership for the CSC was increased by $25 and no real reasoning for this was ever given. From what I can tell, it was made to seem as the membership was actually lowered but since SKUSA is no longer where is the extra money going. We already have a set of rules we paid for last year and are being re-written. Hopefully, the increase goes toward something that will benifit the CSC.

Last little tidbit and then I must go to work. Do not forget that the track owners rebuttal to all of this will come into play sometime and here it is. The track owners make more money with rental karts than on any given race day. If this is true, why increase the number of CSC races?
