ParticipantMAzal Tov !!
I am so thrilled that a first class kart facility is coming to fruition right down the street from where I live !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I expect the THE Track will raise the bar for local karting and bring more people (myself included) into the racing scene.
Congrats Jim !

InactiveFreezerman,
Get out there today and test Jim’s track out. These are your type of conditions. I would imagine that those spikes would get good track on the snow and soft asphalt.
Jim is a good guy he will let you.

ParticipantJim, PLEASE, PLEASE LET IT CURE FOR AS LONG AS YOU CAN!!!!!

ParticipantHow long does asphalt need to thoroughly cure? What is the minimium amt of time required? How does temperature play into the cure time?
February 18, 2006 at 2:28 am #52865Jim Keesling
ParticipantTom,
There are several variables that need to be considered. 1st, if you pave in the summer, you better let the asphalt sit, to get the heat out of it, so it isn’t soft. This takes a long time. If you pave in the winter, you better have enough temp to be able to roll and compact the asphalt so it is smooth and hard. The rule of thumb is 45 degrees and rising. We met all the requirements. The pavers asked that I stay off it with the fast stuff for 1 week. The snow and cold is GREAT for keeping us away. The ground is covered and the pavement is hard as a rock. No frost underneath, and things look real good.
Stay tuned…

ParticipantJim- can’t wait to turn some laps on what looks like an awesome facility.
I will be in Denver on Friday and Saturday, the 24th and 25th. What is
the best way to drive by and see the track?? I would be coming from
the C470 and I25 area. Thanks and congrats. Jerry WilsonFebruary 19, 2006 at 5:34 pm #52867Jim Keesling
ParticipantJerry,
Take E-470 (toll road) east from I-25. Get off on Peoria ($0.75).
Take a left. Go to the end and take a right.
As the road winds left, the gate is on your left.
Call Ed or Carolyn and we will meet you there and show you around.
303-708-9400.
I will be at kart expo.
Thanks,

ParticipantI went by The Track on Saturday. Looking good. It’s very easy to get to.
Right off I25 and C470. Bring your quarters, though. $.075 coming off
and $.075 getting on E470. Nice view of the planes landing, also. End
of the runway is right next to the track. Should be a good time when
we are there racing. Within a mile of hotels and restaurants also. Can’t
wait until the CSC race there!!! Jerry Wilson - AuthorPosts
