ParticipantI arrived in Seattle Monday morning about 12 hours after the club race at The Track on Sunday. It is Tuesday and I am sitting in a hotel room in Seattle and it time to say something about this whole thing. Jay and I have spoke and all is good. We race the same and I want Jay racing with me. He brings up the quality of the field.
First, I race to win and figure anyone behind me races liekwise.
Second, if you do not get upset or pissed off about wrecking or being wrecked in a main you do not have the same passion I do for race day.
Third, the only reason I race in the TAG Masters group is because I like the racers, all of them! I could simply remove the 40lbs of lead off of my kart and run TAG Sr. or Rotax Int.
Fourth, I believe the Rotax Masters should be a seperate race from the TAG Masters race.
Fifth, anyone who thinks they can watch fom the outside and pass judgement is insane.
Sixth, bumping in the TAG class is expected. What we see here in CO is childs play.
Finally, looking back on the weekend, I had a great time. Thanks to all who participated, spectated, officiated, and competed. I hope Don recovers quickly.

ParticipantI was racing on Sunday none-the-less. But thanks for the reply. I must need new contacts. :loony:
Thanks again for the reply,

ParticipantJim,
Just curious, I thought you had previously announced that all RMC challenge races would run clockwise (downhill) mirroring the Rotax Nationals direction?? And once the last RMC race for the Mile High Challenge was completed the track would not be run in that direction again until the Rotax National. Has the direction for the Nationals changed?
Thanks,
Tom

ParticipantUp here at our altitude it is obvious that the 9.5ccv head would make the Motori that much better. Hard to argue with physics. I have said that from the beginning and Brad concurred prior to that meeting. I can’t figure out the problem other than Sam and Roman should be good to go again this year 🙂 and Mike what’s an extra 10 lbs of body weight anyways.
don’t even get started about adding or not adding weight to the Leopard. Never will happen even though it should be heavier or god forbid we could all be lighter!
Since we are doing an altered version of TAGUSA rules for our CSC series can we not make adjustments to the weights based on engine-track combinations. Everyone knows the Rotax is slow, for all drivers pro and alike, at Bandimere. It would be the perfect chance.

ParticipantThere will be no conversation between parent and child. The child will be completely unaware.
The kids want to go out race around and then go and play with each other. How simple!!!! I have yet to let my son race even though he begs me too, due to inexperience in a kart. But if you don’t finish near the back sometime how on earth can you ever strive to get to the front???
Tom Dennin
ParticipantWas anyone found illegal? or was this just a rumor?
Kicking the parent out only hurts the child. I would suspect the child has no idea the motor is or was a cheater motor. Sad all the way around!

ParticipantAnyone feel like sharing optimium tire pressures for the MOJO’s? I am just running out of time for testing. It would be very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Tom

ParticipantSo with that said Brad, will it be a suggestion or a rule for the Motori to run with the 12.5cc head in all of the CO series?
Also,

Just double checked with Brad about the FWB issue…. they will be allowed for the Sr and Masters classes, with no weight difference. Will this ruling be adhered to, as stated, for the entire season?
Thanks,
Tom
P.s. Just thinking of buying a Motori 😉
Tom Dennin
ParticipantSo what happened to the 5 or 6 qualifier slots for each of the Jr, Int., Masters? Also, did you figure out what the number of entrants for the Rmax qualifying races need to be to run MOJO’s?
Tom
Tom Dennin
ParticipantTo all (track owners and Angie), will this rule be adhered to,as stated, for the entire season?
If so , for a long awaited decision. Now we all can be prepared accordingly.
While I may not agree, at least a decision was made.
Let the sun shine and the temperature rise!!!!!!!
Tom
P.S. Since we are not strickly abiding by the TAGUSA rules anymore, are we adding weight for the Motori seven with the 9.5cc head as Brad suggested?

Mojo’s will be the spec tire IF and only if there are enough entries to split out the Rotax qualifiers from the club racers. What is the number of Rotax qualifiers to allow the split?

ParticipantJack,
Are you running the Rotax challenge at the track to qualify for the Nationals?

ParticipantJim and all,
I am not trying to stir the pot here, but I believe this is what is missing.

Your point is well taken, however the RMax rules primer put out by the head office states that tires are not spec for the remainder of 07, except for the Grand Nationals.I believe what is spec though is that all Rotax Max Challenge competitors must be on the same tire during any particular race, whether it be MOJO’s or MG’s. Here is the problem, if you have more qualifiers than spots allowed then it definitely mandates that the potential qualifier runs the “faster”, more forgiving, cheaper MG tires rather than what is going to be run at the Nationals. Note, I due not want to argue the fact of one tire being faster than another. The fact that any argument at all can be made negates the spec nature of the class.
And here is just one example of an argument:

I can also tell you that the tire is a bit difficult to drive quickly. The tire does have a significant amount of grip but it will not take the abuse the yellow will. If you slide the kart around with the MoJos, you will quickly overheat the tires and the grip will go away. This is the quote from 2007 Rules Premier http://rmaxchallenge.com/page.cfm?content=18
Tires
(Note: Grand National requirements only) All classes except MiniMax, MOJO D1 (dry) 4.5×10-5 front, 7.10×11-5 rear and BridgestoneYJP (wet) 4.5×10-5 front, 6.0×11-5 rear.
(3) bead retention screws per CIK requirements in the outer wheel rims, front and rear, are mandatory for slick tires only for all classes except MiniMax. Bead locks are not required for wet tires in any class.
Maximum mounted front tire width is 140mm.
One set of tires (slick and wet) is allowed per event, plus one front and one rear spare (slick and wet).
All I am trying to say here is that if you are going to have a spec class run within the TAG class, which is fine with me, have it truly be a spec class with only one tire choice.

ParticipantI was hoping that anyone qualifying for the Nationals would have to run the MOJO’s and not be allowed to run the MG’s. Why? So that as a Rotax Challenge event all competitors would be on the same tire, which is the intent of a spec class.
The Rotax karts, which abide strickly by the RMC rules, will be 15 lbs heavier than TAGUSA rules, carb adjustment limited, and if forced to run the MOJO tires should all be well off the pace of the leader. 😥
So why not start them staggered from the TAGUSA karts?? This way Rotax Grand National qualifier drivers will be able to race against other Rotax drivers set up for RMC spec racing.
Hopefully the tire choice can be eliminated for the Rotax qualifiers, let’s run it just as if it were the Nationals!!!! It would be the best practice for the National event.

ParticipantThanks Rick,
But what I meant was a one time fee for the year instead of paying everytime you go and test & tune. Do they have an annual fee?
