I have been hesitant about chiming in on this topic. Spent to much time and too many years working for the solution.
Don’t know how to insert the exact thread but if someone would get into the EKN forums back in 2002 I believe you will find an
interesting discussion under “Mountain Region Problems”.

Track set up begins tomorrow for The Home Depot Grand Prix of Littleton.
This is a one day event to give us the opportunity to let other people see what karting is about. It is not NASCAR, IRL, or Formula One. It is a chance to let them see karting up close. With the Rotax Grands coming the following weekend and IMI hostimg the TaG Championship race in October what better way to showcase karting and let people know than a race somewhere other than the tracks only we know about.

No doubt about it, this is truly a “parking lot” race. It is being put on in a confined space and entries have to be limited. There are a few spots left in the TaG classes. Our pit area will involve closing down Centennial Dr. Centennial is South of Belleview and parrallel to Home Depot on the South. You can access it by going East on Belleview to the McDonald’s and turning right. Rigs will be parked parallel to the median on the closed off lanes.
    First come, first served.

    Entry will open at 6:30am.
    Register as you check in.

Pit passes will be required. $10.00 per person.

Each pit must have a fire extinguisher.

There is NO “spec” tire or fuel.
CSC weight rules are your guide for TaG classes.
Transponders are not required. This event will be hand scored.

Drivers Meeting…About 8 AM or so.

Nick Carter from Channel 9 will be doing periodic segments from 7-9AM so would like to have drivers available for interviews as well as a quick trip in front of the camera.

The schedule will be flexible with some exhibition karts putting in a few laps for the crowd.

    Gates Open & Register 6:30-8AM
    Drivers Meeting 8-8:30AM
    Practise 8:45AM
    Lunch
    Opening Ceremonies NOON
    Driver Parade
    Races 1:00PM
    Awards 5:00PM

The Home Depot has designed some very unique trophies as well as gathering over $1000 in products from their top vendors to be presented at the event.
A full set of MG’s to each of the class winners in Tag.

    I am sure I have forgotten something….
    Let it fly.
    Email me at [email protected].

    Hope to see you there.

No worries. This year 90 percent of the pit spaces are on the asphalt.
The area we used last year will be strictly overflow for the really last minute sign ups.
Jay assigned you a pit spot as soon as your entry was recieved on the 18th.

    :sun: Very astute assumption Kirk.

    Rain tires are not spec’d.
    Must be manufactured rain tires.
    No grooved slicks are allowed.

    Any other questions Mikey?

    🙂 Curt,
Without your input and help this year it takes twice as many people and twice the time to accomplish the same.
Sure hope your schedule changes cause we could really use you.
Besides, I am not sure you really want to road trip with Jansen I am hearing some really unsettling news about him and that sister of his.

    Christian,
No, it is not tied to any points series. Just what we call a “one off” race. It is an opportunity for everyone to race on a different track layout and a chance to let others see what we do.

🙂 The abundance of our wonderful liquid sunshine as well as the balmy temps will obviously make travel to the meeting a little dicey.
Fortunately many of you called earlier and I was able to discourage any travel tonight.
We will try again next week and hope the weather is a little more copperative.

    Greg,
Haven’t finalized what classes will be offered yet.
As long as you can rustle up enough guys to make a class (at least 6) I am sure we can accomodate them. You still may have to run combined with another class.

Year end ties will be sorted out as follows:

7.5.3.1 Level One: The competitor who attended more series events for the season will be placed ahead of the other tied competitors.

7.5.3.2 Level Two: If the tie is still not broken, main race results for the season will determine the tie. The competitor that had the overall best average finish in the main events will be placed ahead of the other tied competitors.

7.5.3.3 Level Three: If the tie is still not broken, heat results for the season will determine the tie. The competitor that had the overall best average finish in heat races will be placed ahead of the other tied competitor.

7.5.3.4 Level Four: If the tie is still not broken, qualifying results for the season will determine the tie. The competitor that had the overall best average qualifying position will be placed ahead of the other tied competitor.

    Eddy,
Most everything you said makes sense with the exception of the separation of tech from the CSC leadership.
I am very proud to say we have one of the BEST tech programs I have ever been involved with in Colorado and I have been around for a few seasons.
Dennis is knowledgeable, experienced and well respected. He is not affilliated with any track, team or any other entity that might influence his decisions. Dennis has now been recruited by other series to do tech for them because of those qualifications.
Out of all the problems the CSC might have Tech isn’t one of them.
