I-F-F-F-F we do opt to race “rain or shine”, wet tires will be “Open”.
Must be a factory rain tire and not just grooved slicks.

To answer another tire question: Both MG yellow versions will be legal for all CSC races this year.

Taylor, You are correct. The new version will not be in the distribution pipeline till later in the season but will be accepted as legal as soon as they are available. Just a new model number for the same spec’ed tire.

It is a done deal. Angie will be submitting the paperwork this week for sanctioning.

Are you guys talking about running 2 (or more) different packages or just moving weight around?
Other than the fact it is another source of revenue I guess I don’t know why it has been done that way in the past.

I have already checked it out just wanted to know who might participate and benefit. If there is enough interest it is only a matter of paper work and the fee. Thought that if it would make it a little easier for any of you to get points for the World Championship.
    Why not?
Anything you might want to kick in to offset the sanctioning fee would definitely be appreciated. I felt the CSC should kick in if it was something of interest to you.

OK Drivers, The beginning of this season is still a few days off. I know the weather the last few days makes it seems like we could start racing next week but, it is still a few weeks off.
The ball is now in your court. As Angie said, you WILL have a voice in some of the things being looked at to make this series a success.
You need to talk with other karters in your particular class and pick someone to represent your views.
The track owners supporting this series have responded to what you have asked for so now help them refine it and make it work.
We can sit around or we can get rolling and make our series a fun, fair and consistent experience.

I doubt that George has been denied access to the forums.
It may just be a problem signing on. I seem to have a real problem getting logged on sometimes but it is my computer or me that causes the problem. Eventually I finally get on.

JB, Thanks for the kind words but this is not about what happened in the past but what we are going to do for the future.
No matter which organization the racers and track owners decide to play ball with the fact still remains that we have to have our own infrastructure in place. Brad laid it on the line quite succintly. CSC has to have it’s OWN race director, tech person ,track personnel and timing and scoring crew. No other organization is going to provide them to us. They will only be piggy-backing on our resources.
The monies paid to the “new” SKUSA only means at the end of the season the top 10 in each class will be “invited ” to participate in an end of year race w/ the lucky qualifiers from the other regions.
Didn’t need an invitation in the past to run Supernats. just pay your money and go.
We will still have to run their races for them during the regular CSC season.
Maybe that is appealling to some. Instead of the old system of trying to afford to travel all over the U.S. in the Pro Moto tour.
If our racers are willing to fork out that kind of money why not use it to benefit our program first.
Infusing $40 or $50 a person into CSC at the beginning of the season as dues or registration or whatever you want to call it would give us a decent nest egg for putting the crew together for our series.
That doesn’t address who would fill those positions but it sure would be a nicer carrot to wave in front of them than relying on our present method and hopefully provide the consistency being called for now.

    Angie,
I don’t think you are ruffling anyones feathers. You put a topic out for everyone to be informed about and it stimulated discussion.
Let’s see what the racers would like to do.
The concept has it’s pluses and minuses and I for one am going to try to keep an open mind.
    Let’s hear some more input.

The question still remains. What is the real benefit to the “average” racer in this area?
Let’s say that we have 100 karters that plan to race in this area. Of those 100 I would say that maybe 15-20 have higher aspirations ( national race participation, pick your series) that means that we are sacrificing the thing we started for. Affordable, no nonsense racing for the Colorado karters.
    Does that make sense?
Not everyone that races in this area wants or can afford to run with the “big boys”.
Maybe I am being a “NIMBY”, but I have been there and done that and I do not see how it benefits the series we have now.
Do we need more consistency? You bet!
SKUSA is not neccessarily the answer.
You as the racers, that make it happen, have to decide how you want to proceed.
In order to make the things happen that have been pointed out as needed for the CSC series it takes money.
Funneling it out of here does not help us make our series grow.
CSC was started because we had so many diverse classes trying to conform to so many organizations rules.
We looked, adapted, and started our own series that, believe or not, started several other series that were fed up with the way things were going on in there own areas thinking and reacting.
Guess what? All of a sudden they were being courted by every karting organization the U.S.
Don’t know which organization is the best for us to align with. But I do know we have done pretty good so far on our own.
The points brought out about tech and race directors and support personel all cost money and you as racers still have to subsidize it.
No “sanctioning” organization is going to provide that without a cost to you.

The word as of yesterday afternoon was that there will be a charity/celebrity race at the Pepsi Center just like last year. The date is August 7,with a rain date of August 8.
Jim Keesling has stepped up and made it possible for the foundation to put on the event this year. I am sure he will make an announcement as soon as everything is locked up. Let’s all be prepared to help if needed.
Have not heard anything about George and the WKA event he alluded to in an earlier post. Maybe he has some news coming.
