InactiveI just got word – the long-awaited track smoothing equipment will arrive at Action Karting this Sunday and the track will be smoothed on Monday!
The track will be closed to rentals and testing for that day but will reopen on Tuesady morning as usual.
Everyone get ready – it will be like a new track. Support this change by getting up there and do some testing asap. The bumpy spots will be very green and rubber will be needed in the corners.
This is great news if you ask me.
If you have questions call up to the track and talk to JB or Ann Louise.

Just think of them as being like those tubes at the bowling alley when they have bumper bowling.

ParticipantLooks like the smoothing equipment got hung up at the hardware store in Granby. He may be a little late. 😯

I don’t think JB ordered one with armored plating. 😯

InactiveI was up at the track most of yesterday, watching and helping out.
Turn one (counterclockwise) is MUCH better.
The dogleg coming off the old back straight (counterclockwise) that used to trow you around before a hard right-hander is now very smooth – provided you stay off the berms.
The concrete and asphalt at the transition from the back straight to the uphill to widowmaker still needed work and this was being discussed when I left last night.
Something to keep in mind and words to the wise – as with IMI after its smoothing last year, the newly smoothed ares at Bandimere are going to be green and slippery. Becuase they are smoother now than they were a few days ago people will be tempted to take these areas faster. Because there is little in the way of rubber on the smoothed areas, and a bit of residual dust there will be tendency for karts to get loose in these areas. This will improve with time and rubber.

ParticipantI talked to someone who drove it yesterday, he said it was real nice, but the curbs are still a nusance. Thats good to hear, its a fun track, and when we get back from Norway and GJMS, i plan to test a lot more at bandimere, thanks JB, and Ann Louise, your efforts are far appreciated. I hope to be by withen the next month or so.

ParticipantGreg drove it a bit yesterday and said it was much better. They are going to do still more work today, grinding some of the concrete areas and still more of the asphalt. He also pointed out that the ground areas are REALLY green and offer NO grip. The ground areas will be a little abrasive on tires untill is gets seasoned but that won’t take long.
A big thanks to JB and Ann-Louise for getting this long needed improvement done.

ParticipantTrack will be much faster , and SAFER we hope , — take it easy at first , it will be slick untill we get some rubber down .
The curbs won’t be a problem – If you stay off of them !
We will consider some more changes as soon as finaces permit !Ann-Louise and myself sincerely thank every one of you who have supported our efforts to bring about all the improvements to date
