ParticipantThanks Todd.
One of the things that defines a good organization is the ability to recognize a problem then take the steps to correct it and that is exactly what happened in this instance.
We may find other discrepancies as we go along and they in turn will be addressed. At least we do have written rules to refer to now.Rusty

Dennis, You too.Rusty

ParticipantMike.
If you are looking for a bad guy I guess I am it.
There is no conspiracy or anything sinister going on.
You and I just have different ideas about the purpose of this class.
I am more concerned about the kids learning to be better drivers than about how fast they can out pace the pack. There is nothing learned when the flag is dropped and by the time the karts get to the end of the first straight away on a long track they are spaced so far apart it looks like 30 minutes into a road race.
We will evaluate the input from everyone after the race and if there is a more optimum choice I will certainly be open to revising it.The spec gear for Grand Junction is 78.
We will run the short track configuration.
Time on track will remain the same.Rusty

ParticipantStill waiting to get a feel for how many sign up for each class.
Will talk with our “soon to be announced” tech director and sort out the weights.
😀 😀Rusty Newberry
ParticipantYou may very well see some classes with less than 6. They will be the ones that we can run paired with other classes and scored separately. It isn’t practical to run thiis class mixed so so it is ran as stand alone therefore requiring a minimum of 6 to justify having it as a stand alone class.

ParticipantIf the main beef is having to run spec tires then please explain to me why it is not a problem to race at IMI club races. I thought Brad was going to have MG’s for the club races. So whats the difference?
The first argument given to me about you guys having to run a spec tire was that “some” of you had multi sets of other brands and wanted to use them up. What about the people in other classes with the same problem. I have not had one person from any other class question the spec tire rule and I am sure there are a lot of them that have a couple of sets of Bridgestones in their trailer.
That argument did not hold water. At last count there were only 2 entries in your class. Maybe it is because you were waiting to get this resolved.
If we do not have at least 6 registered to run then we will not have a class.Greg, I told you just 2 days ago that I would see what I could do and I meant it. Threats of non participation only hurt your cause. In case you aren’t aware, the track owners and all of us trying to bring this series together still have a streak of “outlaw” in us and don’t take to bullying too kindly. It just raises hackles and accomplishes nothing.
I also understand the concerns of having to pay for membership in a organization that doesn’t really offer anything on the national level. You are right. What does it benefit the racer?
I will try to come up with a solution but it will take a little time.
It would help if you offered solutions, not just turn your back to us and say ‘I’m not gonna play”. 4 strokes have been a part of this series since the beginning and there is no reason for them not to be in the future.Rusty

ParticipantRod, You and I need to talk. You got so many little ideas running around it that fuzzy little head that you need to share with me. You are pointing out some stuff that I never would have caught at first or second glance. 😳
When does class start? 😆 😆Rusty Newberry
Participant😀 Way to go Angie. Great to see all the info on each driver.

ParticipantFreeze, You are right and I do thank you for bringing it up. If you hadn’t someone would have. You are an experienced racer and I welcome your insight. I have learned more about how racers look for loopholes and the use of imaginative interpretation in the last month than I could imagine in my wildest nightmare.
Bullseyes….ummmm. That bears some thought.

ParticipantRookie drivers will be required to run a minimum of 3 races with the “X” identifier on the rear of their helmet.
Rookie status will be noted at time of registration.
The Race Director will either approve or disapprove of removal of the “X” after the minimum 3 races.
The Race Director will eforce the rule.
Rusty Newberry
ParticipantThe spec tire for the series is MG Yellow.
We may allow for harder compounds in the future.Rod, See what I mean. Someone asks about an exception and you expound on it by wanting to mix and match.
Can’t we all just get along?Rusty Newberry
ParticipantAir boxes will be required at all CSC races.

ParticipantFreezeman, Everyone wanted printed rules this year and now we have them. We gotta start somewhere. Rules have been available now for a couple of weeks and the suggestions made to modify them have ran the gamut. What was the purpose of adopting a set of rules if we are going to wind up with an addendum to the rules that is bigger than the rule book itself? Some of the exceptions suggested have been so petty it was laughable. I am not in favor of going “lock step” with whoevers’ rules we have adopted but could we at least get in to the season before we try and reinvent the wheel.
The rules say no grooved slicks!Rusty

ParticipantJust so everyone knows my take on racing in the rain. I see no benefit in racing while in the middle of a downpour. Racing under “wet conditions” is not a problem with me. I hesitate about putting our kids on the track under those conditions but am open to input.
I also will not proceed with racing when lightening is in the area or imminent. I guess it is my personal phobia but I am very respectful of changing weather conditions. 😳Rusty
