Are Air boxes in the shifter classes required for all tracks this year or just GJMS?

    Rusty –

Have you decided if we can run harder MG compounds if we want (orange or red)?

Shouldn’t Kyle Ray have to run two air boxes and a cork in his exhaust?
    😛
If we can run harder MG tires, will we be required to run all four of them with the same compound?
Can we mix and match the two different MG red tires on the kart?
Will club racers be mixed in with CSC racers on CSC dates?

Air boxes will be required at all CSC races.
    See rule 20.2.7.4.1

The spec tire for the series is MG Yellow.
We may allow for harder compounds in the future.

Rod, See what I mean. Someone asks about an exception and you expound on it by wanting to mix and match.
Can’t we all just get along?

Yes, just like the past two years, the CSC dates are also club race dates. This applies to IMI and GJ, as there are no club events at Action Karting this year (they have other fun stuff in the works!)
The difference from last year is that the club only racers will not be getting CSC points.

    Rusty,

Okay finalize the identification of Newbies.

What is it and where is it to be located?
    How is a newbie determined?
    Who makes the determination?
    Who isgoing to enforce it?

    Rusty,

Newbies in class, are they going to have an “x” through their rear plates or on their helmets? This is important to me and others, would you let us know how we’re going to signify a newbie (you might want to put one on Lee Gagna too, he’s a little erratic at times 8) )

Rookie drivers will be required to run a minimum of 3 races with the “X” identifier on the rear of their helmet.

Rookie status will be noted at time of registration.

The Race Director will either approve or disapprove of removal of the “X” after the minimum 3 races.

The Race Director will eforce the rule.

Sorry Rusty, it was just the next question that would come up anyway.
Really you should thank me for bring it up now instead of after it happens.
We are getting along, you just have a tuff job ahead of you dealing with racers.

Maybe we could also require bulls eyes taped to the back of the helmets of drivers that have recieved 3 black flags through out the season?
I will be proud to run an X on the back of mine this year for my first season of shifter racing. Is winter over yet down there?

Freeze, You are right and I do thank you for bringing it up. If you hadn’t someone would have. You are an experienced racer and I welcome your insight. I have learned more about how racers look for loopholes and the use of imaginative interpretation in the last month than I could imagine in my wildest nightmare.

Bullseyes….ummmm. That bears some thought.

What rules are the Mini Max karts following and when will they be posted?
With the three different classes running at the same time. How are you going to start them, by time all together or by class/time. If it is by class/time there are some fast kart coming up on some slower karts in a lap or two. Those faster karts my force their way around them, which is part of racing, but there is a much greater chance of contact. Will the mini max karts be required to have more safety equipment than the other karts and younger drivers on the track at the same time? :idn:
    Thanks

    Steve,
I am going to answer this one for Rusty, as I am working on this right now. The rules for the Mini Max will mirror Rotax Max Challenge rules. The official rendition of the rules will be out this week, but like I said, they should be the same as RMax Challenge rules.

As for the line up on race day, etc. It will go by class and then time. If the Animals have the fastest qualifying times, they will start up front. The Mini Max is a new class for us, and the K80s are going back to a stock configuration, so we know there is going to be a big difference in times. It all comes down to what is safest, first. After that, how can we group the classes with the closest lap times on the track to get through the day best.

I understand the question of why extra safety equipment would be required for the Mini Max, yet possibly not for other classes on the track at the same time. This is something that we are discussing now, as well.
    Thank you for your patience.

Rusty didn’t see this thread please read my thoughts on briggs class. All most us want is what is on my side of the line, like my sign says ho ray for my side. MY vote is bring on the briggs a loud american engine reved to the max. They put rubber down on the tarck an pay dues and by parts just like the rest of us racers. :idn:
