    5 Races ? no drops
No major holidays, so the Greeley Grand Prix will become a stand alone event over Memorial Day weekend. The CSC will do what they can to help make the race a success, but don?t want to require racing over that holiday. That also means that GJMS?s race for the CSC will not be over the 4th of July weekend. Again, hopefully there will be a race there, maybe some sort of GJ Independence Grand Prix or something.

The classes?. It still sounds like a lot, but they should be able to be combined for minimal flights. Also, once the membership forms are available and start coming back in, we can see if we have weakly populated classes that could be dropped right away.

Kid Karts 5-7 Supplied Sealed Honda

Jr 1 K80 7-11 Stars/WKA rules (as were our rules in 05) This is the last year for this class.

Jr 1 Sealed Honda 7-11, don?t know the weight yet, engines will be available for purchase from all of the tracks, right now IMI is finishing the package. Around $850 to buy, last I heard, and there may be a lease program available. Engines will be sealed by the Tech Director.

Mini Max 9-13 RMax Challenge rules, including required seal. With the growth of the RMax Challenge in this region, this could be a large class.

TaG Jr ? TAGUSA rules as last year
TaG Sr ? TAGUSA rules as last year
TaG Masters ? TAGUSA rules as last year
TaG 4 Cycle ? TAGUSA rules

80 Novice and 80 Junior shifter ? these classes will always be combined on track, lined up by qualifying times for heat race. Rules same as last year.

125 Shifter ? combination of the Pro and Novice classes, no longer an experience designation, just one class, I don?t think the weights will change from this year

125 Spec Shifter ? same as last year (not sure if there are any tweaks to these rules yet)

125 Masters Shifter ? same as last year

Same spec tire, Same spec fuel/oil

We will race in wet conditions, except for the Kid Karts and Junior 1 classes. As the rules for last year read.

More information will be out soon. The tracks are working to have the schedule set and rules available by Christmas.

Thank You for taking the bull by the horns and making some sense of this thing that we call CSC.

    Angie and all,
Thanks so much for your efforts it sounds like a great next season.
I do just have one question, this doesn’t effect me but it seems there is no place for 12yr olds to start unless its in mini-max or 80 shifters? I know last year JR1 Animal could race up to 12yrs. Any thoughts?

I second Chris’s thought – could we bump the Jr 1 classes to 12 years old? That would be a great place for a new 12 year old still, and align us with Stars/WKA in the Comer class.

Also, just to be clear, is MiniMax considered a Jr. 1 class, so won’t run in the rain?

    Kurt,
I believe that Mini Max is at a Jr 2 level. They will run in the rain. Also, that means if you move up to Jr 2 level, you can’t go back to race Jr 1. My feeling is that you shouldn’t be allowed to race K80 and Mini Max. What do people think about that?

as for the 12 year old thing. There is talk of reverting the age basis to the way it was a few years ago. That is if your kid is going to be 12 in ’07 then it is your choice to race as 11 or as 12 year old. That gives a little lee way for the newbies in Junior classes. Also, there very well may be a requirement of some club races before entering a CSC race. I am getting clarification on that before making an official post. That is how many races are required, how to get it signed off, whatever.

One more thing. The rear number plate color will be enforced this year. Classes that run together need to know if the guy in front of them is in their class.

I fully understand wanting an intermediate class for those kids coming out of kid karts. MinMax and novice 80 are quick karts and many kids should not make that jump. However, I do think that if a kid is qualified to run in a particular class (age, weight) they should be allowed.

:woohoo See, the CSC does listen to the racer and adjust. Thanks all, you’re doing a great job. Keep moving forward.

Thanks for the clarification. I’d like to see MiniMax have the possibility of running in the rain, especially since there may be some that want to go to the national events.

I think we should allow a driver to compete in K80 or Animal even if they run MiniMax. We could have another Nick Neri type that wants to run both.

I like the age choice idea, and the minimum experience rule too.

    Thanks.

Thanks Angie and All, I’m glad to hear you have given this some thought.
I have a friend whose son raced with my boys SCCA autocross who wants to race this next season. He turns 12 in June and therefore by current rules would have to race minimax or 80 shifter and I do believe that they want to race Jr1 their first year. It would be a shame if they didn’t join because of this. I know rules are what they are but it seems like a bit of large jump to go from Briggs Raptors to minimax or 80’s because we have no place for beginning drivers who start a little later than kidkarts to go. As well as the required $ to make that sort of commitment. I look forward to seeing the schedule for next year as well some required experience levels for the CSC.
Once again thanks to all and I know we’ve covered this ground before, just my two cents worth!

I have one question regarding jr 1 k80. If going by Stars/WKA rules why not run according to their age requirements?

P.S. Happy to see decisions happening before seasons opening

Does this mean 4 tag classes all running separately, or tags running together?

Classes will be combined. Jrs won’t be combined with Srs, but other than that, like classes will be combined.

    angie

Brian – I will bring up the age thing with the board on the K80.
