ParticipantSkipper, I will sell my motor off my kart after the finial in Steam Boat for $900.00 Or this winter I could help you build your own in my shop.
Next year I hear WKA will be having a set of rules much like the ones we put togather for the class this year the only difference I see so far is that they will be allowing porting of the head. So I bet there will be a lot more retail shops offering them for next year.
Heres a general list of cost.
1 animal II motor…500
308 cam…………….100
Vangard lifters…….. 25
dual spring set…….. 30
dominater tilly kit….250
billet rod…………….. 80
header……………….. 50
Labor……………. ???????
$ 1,035.00
I will say that I wouldn’t expect a limited mod animal to last five hours running it competitively at the SCS races. We are getting alot of power out of them and it is too early in it’s developement to expect durabilitly too.
The more we run the class the more we will learn in that department.Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantMaybe I am all wet , but in years past I raced many rain or shine events. I always had the option to go to rain tires. There is rain then there is RAIN. When we incontered a rainy moment during the race day it was always up to the racer to predict the condition of the track and choose which tire would be best. Even on RAINY days we had the option to go back to slicks if we thought that the track would be drying out during our race. If a racer was wrong in there prediction they would just have to live with it, just like selecting the wrong gear or jet.
That was in the midwest were it would rain for days on end. Seems to me around here storms move in and out so quickly the odds of being stuck on a drying track with rain tires would be large.
If the race is rain shine or snow I do have a a few sets of studded and picked kart tires.Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantSkipper, There are a couple of guys that have ran the WF in the 4 cycle senior class. Yet the mod animal is stronger than the WF stock on gas. I would be glad to try and answer any questions you may have.
Greg, Larry, Dominic, Me, James, Barret are all useing Mod animals.August 15, 2004 at 3:15 pm in reply to: SKUSA rule changes for 05-06 – ideas for 05 CSC rules? #47890Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantI got an ideur, lets figure out the rules for all the adult classes with a town hall style meeting after the pubs close Sunday morning. Hu maybe a pancake house would be a better place to have it?
Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantScott, I think maybe Craig Mansfield could be of some help with your rotax problem. He has had that kind of stuff happen to him a lot. :idn:

ParticipantHay, why was that 4 stroke novice guy in front of them shifter pilots the entire race? 😯
I had a good time. I don’t think the track needs to have any longer straights. If it’s longer put some more corners in it too.Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantI too plan on going. Is it OK to just show up and sign in or do I have to pre register?
Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantI think Jerry Dover has a warrenty plan on his motors.
I could build ya one, but I am not in the business of customer relationships.
5 hours on a race motor to me means it has been raced for ten race days which is too many depending on the rpm’s and temperature it has been run at and how it was taken care of. When playing with stock Briggs parts, exspecially the rod, be prepaired to have one let go even on it’s first time out. I am always nervous if I only take one bullet to the gun fight.
Some holes in blocks can be repaired to live another day.
It’s a long time till next season, is there any way to help ya get back on the track sooner?
Sorry about your troubles, I would be glad to take a look at what happened and talk about ways of tring to prevent it again.Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantI ant sure if you would want one of my engines, as the one you broke I probably built. Call me if you want, I would be glad to talk about what happened and what I could do for you. 303-838-1941 🙁

ParticipantWhat happens when a racer gets there on Sunday and all the pit spots are reserved?

ParticipantBandimere is just a technical track. It is only rough because you choose to drive it fast. 😆
Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantShoot, I placed a small bid on it but I couldn’t be around to for the end of the auction. It looks like it went for 3050.00 That would have been fun for me to play with.
Rodney Ebersole
ParticipantPreston, I don’t think anyone should bid on that thing, I could see cracks in the frame and every thing is just worn out.

ParticipantPlease don’t take this the wrong way. As I do think it is great to have some sponsers supporting our racing of karts. It also seems that Stacey is working a lot at getting some sponcership for our events.
I just am wondering how a sponcer determines that they are going to sponcer a class? Like Pepsi last year at Grand Junction. Did Pepsi come in and say we would like to sponcer the pro shifter class? Or did they want to sponcer the kart races. Or did Stacey go to them and ask them to sponcer the pro shifter races? I can see Company that has ties to a class of racing wanting to sponcer that particular class, yet I also think it is up to the promoters of the races to try and evenly distribute a Companies sponcership to the entire advertized event. I realize that when a sponcer is willing to sponcer something you take what you can get. Even with Ben Hills sponcership this year, I would think he would gain more recognition to more people at the event if the money was distibuted in a different way than giving it to three of the 300 people that attend. I do remember a great feed Stacey put togather last year, and I also remeber who bought me my last free lunch. 🙂 No big deal it is just easy to post different pionts of veiw on forums like this. keep up the good work Stacey!- AuthorPosts
