ParticipantI think Jerry Dover has a warrenty plan on his motors.
I could build ya one, but I am not in the business of customer relationships.
5 hours on a race motor to me means it has been raced for ten race days which is too many depending on the rpm’s and temperature it has been run at and how it was taken care of. When playing with stock Briggs parts, exspecially the rod, be prepaired to have one let go even on it’s first time out. I am always nervous if I only take one bullet to the gun fight.
Some holes in blocks can be repaired to live another day.
It’s a long time till next season, is there any way to help ya get back on the track sooner?
Sorry about your troubles, I would be glad to take a look at what happened and talk about ways of tring to prevent it again.August 10, 2004 at 3:38 pm #47835Angie MacEwen
ParticipantWhen we were doing the Animal thing, we used Hawkins Motorsports, Thomas Hawkins, Port Jervis NY. 845-856-8281
I don’t even recall how Ken first contacted Tom, but he gave us a ton of information before we ever decided to use his services! We must have called him 10 times with questions before we ever got one of his motors.
Really nice guy, and at that time at least, he had a 1 year warranty on his work – we thought that was unusual. He has a website, but looks like it is being updated, so is “under construction” http://www.webuildspeed.com
Good Luck

Rick Carelli does a great job on our animals (Morgan Jones #27). I don’t know if Rick is looking to build his animal engine business, but I would recommend him highly.
His number is (303) 748-1046
Good luck,
Jeff Jones
