The Track at Centennial has worked out a great partnership with the Centrix Financial Grand Prix of Denver to support and supply the equipment for the Mini-Grand Prix to be held August 6-7 at the Centrix Financial Grand Prix of Denver.

In addition, we are planning a complete road course the same layout as the Grand Prix track suitable for karts.

The Track at Centennial will be operatiing our brand new, 13hp Honda rental karts for the week prior and the weekend of the Grand Prix. We are currently planning a 3 class exhibition race for Friday, August 13th.
I will provide futher details as I firm up the arrangements.

I encourage all karters to come down and turn a few laps in the new rental karts, as a portion of all the funds raised go to help the Grand Prix Foundation. In addition, The Track at Centennial will be giving away a free party at The Track for 10 people next summer to the driver that turns the fastest lap by Sunday August 15, at 5:00pm.

All of us here at The Track at Centennial are excited to be part of the Centrix Financial Grand Prix of Denver and hope the Colorado karting community will come down and support the Grand Prix.

    Best regards,

    Jim Keesling

    Great job Jim!

It is things like this and people like you who make it happen that will make Colorado the perennial karting State in the US.

    Grand Prix of Denver update.

We walked the location of the kart track yesterday and will be able to set it up as a replica of the actual Grand Prix track. Because of space limits, the track will be between 1/4 – 1/3 mile long. I have arranged the tec-pro barriers from SKUSA to be here, so the facility will look first class.

We have the possibility of getting space for a paddock to bring in trailers for the day. As of now, there are many details that will be worked out and then I will let everyone know the full plan. :type:

I still don’t know which classes we will be able to run, but for now we are planning on kids karts for sure!!! Friday, August 13th is the date for the race. It will be similar to the Colo. Springs event, exhibition style with attention on promoting the sport to the public. I will get out a temp. schedule with more info later.

Thanks to all that have e-mailed me wanting to help. Keep them coming! :direct

    Stay tuned for more information.

    Denver Grand Prix Update.

As stated before, I was working on a exhibition style race Friday the 13th during the Denver Grand Prix. It is a go!!! :sun:
The Parking will open at 6:00am. We have space for approx. 80 – 100 teams in the paddock. If you can fit your kart, stand, gas and tools in the back of a pick-up, all the better. We are tight on space, so big trailers are somewhat of a problem.
The classes offered are as follows:
    Kids karts, Junior 1, senior 4 cycle, TaG senior/masters, 80cc Shifter and 125 shifter, novice/ pro/heavy.
number of entries will determine if classes are split.

The schedule so far is as follows:
    8:00am- 8:30am 10 min. practice, first 3 groups.
    9:00am – 9:30am 10 min practice, last 3 groups.
    10:00am – 10:30am 10 min. qualifying, first 3 groups.
    11:00am – 11:30am 10 min. qualifying, last 3 groups.
    12:00 noon – 12:30 First 3 heat races, 10-15 laps.
    1:00pm – 1:30pm Second 3 heat races 10-15 laps.
2:00pm – 3:30pm Denver Grand Prix Invitational Main Events.

Enrty fee is $55.00 which includes parking, and 1 pit pass. Additional pit passes are $5.00.

I will post a registration form by the end of the week so you may print it out and FAX it to me, or you will be able to sign up on line. Those details will be available shortly.

If we can show how great the Colorado Karters are, I think we could add this event as a points race next year, and really show off karting.
Thanks to everyone that has asked to help out, keep those e-mails coming.

    Thats all for now…
    Jim

I have added the senior 4 cycle class to the Grand Prix schedule. We need 10 or so karts to make a class, so please call each other and try to get the day off. I know it’s hard after Bandimere and the state races, but this should be one great time.
    Thanks for your support,

Jim……..You can count Tyler in….He’s #45 in the Junior 1 class.

Would the Junior 2 kids be able to run with the Junior 1? Sense I have one of each I know that question is going to come up in our house.

    Thanks

Today was a busy day down at the Grand Prix. While we were unloading the Tec-Pro barriers, we had to work around those pesky asphalt trucks!!! Not only did they pave where the kart track is going, they paved the entire parking lot with 3+” of Black gold!!! (SMOOTH, REAL SMOOTH…) With cold weather for the next couple of days, the track should cure and be AWESOME for the Mini Grand Prix as well as our race on Friday the 13th.
If you want to learn the track to get ready, why not stop on in and rent a kart for a few laps? It’s for a great cause. :sun:
Because of all the activity, I am late in posting the registration form, so if you want to e-mail me with name, address etc… (you know the drill) go ahead. Just send it to [email protected]
This weekend it’s driving to Houston to get the karts, home again, and time to trophy shop.
    Stay tuned for more updates…
