InactiveIf you want something to just play with, I’d probabily suggest a TaG motor, since they last a long time between rebuilds and are still fairly fast.
Watch out though, you may not go back to cars after you get into Karting. I came from sedans and don’t think i’ll be going back anytime soon. 8)

ParticipantPreston, I don’t think anyone should bid on that thing, I could see cracks in the frame and every thing is just worn out.

ParticipantShoot, I placed a small bid on it but I couldn’t be around to for the end of the auction. It looks like it went for 3050.00 That would have been fun for me to play with.

InactiveThanks for the replys and the PM’s everyone!! 😀
Tuition is due in just a month so I won’t be looking to purchase until some time in late june or early july. :look
I understand that the chassis on 125’s wear out. How much time is to much time on a chassis?
I have not heard much as far as engine packages go. I like the idea of the CR seems like a dependable engine with lots of tune work available if desired. Plus Honda dealers in town. Is there a different package that may be a better idea? :idn:
I am mechanically inclined and have a ton of experience with cars but am completely green when it comes to carts what are the areas I need to be concerned with when looking at used 125’s?
Is there a tell all book that I can’t be without? :read
Thanks again to all I will be getting in touch with those who PM me when I am ready to buy!!

Inactivethanks alot! do they go about 80 – 100 miles per hour?

Participantits possible, but not in colorado (minus a road coarse, ie a car track) in jacksonville the tags do about 83-84, but that is a fast track where the shifters do about 95. Top speed for a tag at bandimere is about 65, at imi about 73-74 and gj about 69-72

Participant73-74 MPH? Haha it must be your leopard! When the track is run counter-clockwise, I do 81MPH on the back straight, or maybe it’s just my SONIK. :idn: When the track is going clockwise TaG’s only go 74MPH tops.

Participantrecalibrate your tire rollout, if its a mychron your standard rollout is 36, if you are running BS YHCs, its like 33.75. That will substantially decrease your MPH. Its pretty close eitherway mph wise, roughly 69-74 depending on gearing. Many shifters do not even go 81mph eitherway, top shifter speeds so far out there are about 83-85
