Great idea JB. Let’s hope Mother Nature can dish out some good weather for your dates.

I would bet that the roach coach would be a good gamble if the weather holds. You should have a lot of foot traffic from buyers and sellers. What else is happening that weekend after the Super Bowl parade and hangover?

    Jim,
Thanks for the update on SKUSA. As a consumer I will wait to see what the regional requirements will be for whatever National races SKUSA will host. IE: Nations Cup or Supernationals. It would be nice to see our existing program out here accomodate the 15-20 Colorado Karters that went to the Supernationals, and the 80-90 Colorado Karters that raced at the Nations Cup the same conveyance of not traveling to qualify.

If you have a feel for the way your two big races will go, please let me know so we can start planning road trips if necessary. Bottom line, we love the final blow out in Vegas every fall and will do whatever necessary to make it there again.

Good luck with your future plans,

    Curt Kistler

We snapped the seat struts off our Tractor Magic after powder coating. The shop that provided our coating had some pretty high tech chassis in their shop when we did business with them. Anything from Jr. Drag’s to Upright Sprinters, to show cars….
I assumed they knew what they were doing having said they coated many kart chassis over the years. Maybe it was just a coincidence, but I personally think if it’s not blasted and stripped properly you may have some potiental problems.

    Ben,
Seat time is the best training tool. Where were you on Saturday?

I have other sensitive areas that I watch when I’m around you IMI guys. Rumor is you know how to use it, even if it is undersized.

Any Christmas specials on sale out there Brad? I keep getting Holiday sales adds for everything from a new bass rod to beef sticks. I have not seen one holiday special from any of you kart shops.

We need a big boy class for all of the ex athletes whos kids have taken to the sport. The class would be for a driver weight of 250 and up. I know there are plenty of parents out there that would be intrested in this if they could be competitive.

My son would love to play middle line backer for his high school but his body is built for other things. There is always GI if his/her weight is putting them to a disadvantage. We don’t need more classes, we need more track time.

65 Shifters and 55 Tags. Hell, there’s a series all by themselves.

Those are pretty strong numbers on both sides. And the classes seem to be growing every year.

You have to have controversy to stir things up, but:

This is for humor, not controversy Rich. I could always get some good controversy going if we need it. Just let me know and i’ll open that door. It’s the Holidays, and we all need love right now.

    Stick to humor like:
If I could do something different to our program I would pit next to Edwards so I could lower my trailer weight and drink his beer. However, I don’t know if I could look at his hat logo all day.

“Just where is the big SKUSA going to get it’s racers for next year? Its 99% sure they won’t be back in Colorado. I’ve personally talked with the track owners and not one wants them back. That leaves Tom and Terry. Tom doesn’t even put the SKUSA name on his series, he’s no fool. That’s leaves Terry. And the word on the street is that Joe’s trying to run him off.”

Personally, I think with Jim’s efforts of bringing SKUSA back to CO last year was a blessing. The Nations Cup was the first Big Race this region has seen in quite some time. We had a good set of rules to race with and SKUSA’s support of those rules was second to none. We had some good classes to choose from, and had the option of adding some non SKUSA classes with their blessing. Running a top 10 National plate at Vegas was something I never thought we would ever get to do. Thanks Jim and SKUSA!

I vote for as little change in the rules and events as possible. I vote for Greeley and I hope all of our CSC staff decide to come back for another year. We should be talking about what we have and keep the momentum moving forward, not making negitive statements about a National Organization who is on our side.

I know Doug is very passionate about karting and his family. I am not trying to start anything with him. He has made some accurate statements in the past and some pretty bad ones too. This is why we should all attempt to meet and discuss our 2006 options. There are only about 10 of us that frequently use this site to post, however, there are many more out there who do not like this type of forum to voice their concerns and opinions. Or we can wait and see what’s really going to happen in 2006.

    Happy Holidays, I’m Out.

    Rick,
According to a post on another web site from a local authority, there will be no SKUSA in CO next year.

Did anyone call you for your input on this? They did not contact us either.

I guess we will need to wait to see what the rules will be and go from there.

I couldn’t agree with you more JB. Well said. I remember the first kart race Matt and I went to. 5 years later, + 50K spent, and every vacation day used racing, we would do it all over again without any changes!

My only comment at this time is “time”. We need to commit ASAP and get a CSC schedule posted. Even the Pro Kart Challenge in SOCAL has posted it’s 2006 schedule. Seems like we drag our feet out here way tooooo long and it frustrates many of us. I will donate our shop facility here on Santa Fe and Bellview for a karter forum on a Saturday to get things rolling if that will help. Let’s just get rolling.

Watta you say Angie? Get enough rest yet, or do you need a little more time and :coffee

Thanks Again JB and Ann-Louise, your passion and efforts have been noticed.

    It’s the HAT!!!

The only driver who got a podium did not wear a HAT! I knew it was something simple like that. Next year all hats are off.

Way to go Cole. We had a blast and the weather could not have been better for karting.

Too bad more CO Karters didn’t show up. You missed a great opportunity. Especially that really fast stock moto guy who needs to go all the way to Florida to spend his $$$ and race. What’s up with that?

Best place to gather local data is right here in the race results section. The National scene information is found on http://www.ekartingnews.com and in the national rags like SuperKart, and Kart Sport.

What’s most important is what you want to do, and have fun doing it.

4 Stroke shifters are not going to happen in mass. It’s going to take a national ban on 2 stroke engines and emmisions to promote a solid effort in 4 stroke shifter racing. Unless someone decides to build a road track that can allow these motors to unwind, it probably won’t happen. IMO.

As far as 2 stroke cost. We raced 7 times at IMI and all 7 CSC races in PRO ICC and went thru 6 top ends at $145.00 each + tires at each event.
If the truth were known, we only needed 3 top ends for the year. And we did have a fun year running mid pack.
