ParticipantThat is awesome news for all Regional and up-coming aspiring Regional racers. This is something the SKUSA Mountain Region has needed for a very long time. Congrats to all who came together to make this happen.
I wish everyone the best of luck, best safety, most fun, and very competitive racing this year. Congtats Colorado!

There can only be one state series if you want any turn out. I really can’t believe the talk about street or parking lot races, they are too much work, too much cost and trash your kart. It’s not like there are not plenty of real kart tracks in the state you should be supporting. You want to run your kart in a parking lot or on the street get a Shriner kart and do parades! Unser racings parking lot would be joke of a track with no room to do a decent course, if they want to have real kart racing then build a real kart track! Get off these stupid ideas people! Support one state series on the tracks we have and one promoter be it SKUSA or who ever.
Blink is snapping out of his coma and starting to make sense again. Now go grind that jump bump on the hill you been promissing to do for the past 3 years.

Ok guys I kind of feel responsible for getting this thread opened up. I am watching it and do not see it going in a positive direction. I see wining, pessimistic comments, finger pointing, and off topic distraction So here’s my input for what its worth. I do think a state wide series would be awesome but I don’t think it’s the track owner’s responsibility to make it happen. If the racer’s truly want a state wide series they should unite into a comity, association or club, put together a plan, then propose it to the track owner’s. I’m just the new kid on the block but I truly believe the track owner’s responsibility, is to support such a proposal that would be in the best interest of all. I know I am willing to entertain such a proposal. So lets get back to coming up with a solution. To putting together a 5 to 6 event state wide series
Sincerely

SBR Motorsports ParkWon’t work Lee, sorry. Never has, never will. Now I challenge CO Karters to prove me wrong.
You and Stacey are the only ones willing to flex at this time. Brad possibly will so long as your willing to share the track with walk up renters on practice and race days.
JB, he may have changed his stance in the last couple years, only one way to find out. Bandi has always been a great place to run.
Jim :down If anyone can figure that one out you will all be back to where CO Karting was 4-5 years ago. Best place to race in the USA, with the most challenging tracks anywhere, especially yours SBR.
Hate to be a downer, but I don’t think anyone, including DW, has any more time under their belts trying to accomplish this than I do.Best of luck, and please do keep this thread going.

I think it is 4, Scarberry, Noud, Shimmel, Me. Scarberry did it twice, and AJ may have done it twice too?

ParticipantJust look around the parking lot of the Rio in November and tell me what you would do if you were HPD. This discussion has been going on in Karting for over 10 years, and will be going on for at least the next 5. There are plenty of affordable CR’s out there that are all still competitive. It’s pretty simple if you want to race in full classes, and shift gears.

Honestly I think its a cool motor, but the cost! Just to switch two of my karts to this package would run me $12,000, I honestly can’t get over that number, whether its a 125 2 stroke or this motor.
Shouldn’t we think that maybe just maybe the costs of karting are a little out control. just saying! 😯
ChrisI pitty the poor Tech Inspector at the first SKUSA National event that this motor package will be ran at. That is, if it ever becomes a class. Looks fun, fast and I bet it sounds just as awesome as the boys down South. Cheating one up would be pretty tempting, and it’s bound to happen just as it does in every other motor class. It’s never fast enough…..

Sadly I’ll be at Supernats instead of this. Can’t tell you who yet, but a karter from CA we all know just might be racing a support class at this event!

I would suggest GJMS, TTAC, Miller, and possibly a 4th race as a temp track such as Pepsi Center here in Denver in the past. I would like to see
Rotax classes added, especially DD2. Adding Rotax would significantly increase the field size, certainly if one race was in Denver. There is still the original parking lot available in Steamboat Springs for a September event. Some fond memories up there that always seemed to attract a large crowd. I just stood on that lot last weekend and it still has our track lay out in rubber on it.
