ParticipantIt is with a heavy heart that Colorado says goodbye to one of it’s greatest in the karting scene.
Rusty Newberry passed today and we will miss him so. Our thoughts are with Sue, Preston and family.
He fought to the end with the same tenacity many of us saw while he operated as the Colorado Sprint Championship race director, his involvement with the Colorado Junior Kart Club, race promoting and supporting Preston in his racing endeavors. He was so proud of his family and how Preston took the family’s racing involvement to another level.
To pay respect
His services will be Friday November 9th at 1:00 at the Crossroads Church of Denver
9901 W. 50th Ave
Wheatridge, Colorado 8033.A not so small part of kart racing here in Colorado left us today.
RIP Rusty

InactiveI know he enjoyed his time with the kids and we enjoyed having the best head flagger this state has ever had. We will miss him dearly.

ParticipantThis is sad news.
I got to know Rusty through events like the Greeley Grand Prix, and the Littelton GP.
Just like most everybody in COLO karting, Rusty and I had our confrontations.
He was a great man, and I thank him for the time he put into his races, karting in general, and trying to settle down an at times agressive TaG Jr racer.
God Speed Rusty.

ParticipantReally sad news. I remember meeting Rusty very early in my days as a karter at the Bandimere CSC race. He was always around, great guy. RIP.
