I see no reason to open up the tire rule. MG has worked with all of the shops, the racers and is the best tire out there at any price. Bridgestone, Dunlop would not even call be back when I tried to get any kind of sponsorship for the TAG Worlds. Thank you MG for your support.

It is hard enough as it is to get people to go to GJMS with the price of gas. This is the “COLORADO Sprint Championship series” keep it in Colorado!! You would not get half the racers we have in the CSC to go all the way to Miller.

If you allow different fuels tech would be much more time consuming and difficult having to calibrate the meter for each racers fuel choice.

The more I think about it I really like the idea of two races in one weekend.

JB Why do you think there are rumors that you are out of the CSC. The racers are tired of getting their equipment trashed. Fix your track or take the real risk of the RACERS deciding you are out, not the track owners. I just spent $225,000 upgrading my track and pitts. You could fix your track for 10% of that amount.

There were actually 4 major reasons and the #1 reason which I think resulted in all of the other 3 was having the race on Memorial day. Some people just don’t get it. :loony: Why do you think we decided to dropped it from the CSC? If anyone gets the idea to have another street race please pick another date other than Memorial day.

George was the one who wanted to replace you JB. :mic
I would be ok with 2 races at each track done in 1 weekend but not 8 race weekends. No double points though. 1 drop.

I don’t have a problem with running 2 CSC race events in one weekend, I only have a problem running one race in two days and having to pay twice the expenses.

    Rick,

I believe the two day race suggestion was for the 5 race series to remain the same but done in two days instead of one. I do not think they were wanting one weekend to count as two races.

We are picking the MX dates on this Sunday at 1:00pm so if this kart meeting goes past noon I will be gone.
Jim and I have worked out what we are going to do with the club races and have discussed the CSC also. We still need to talk with Stacey and JB. I do not think there will be many changes with the classes.
Once we eliminated the practice in the morning we have been getting done by 3pm so I see no need to cut the classes. We did not add any classes to the day so I am not sure what you are talking about Mike.
I agree we should have a drop to increase participation later in the season.
I am going to make a minor adjustment to the Honda Jr1 engine to slow it down so that should not be an issue.
Tech is going to be a problem if we can’t find someone qualified. I talked with John Motley about doing tech for the CSC and he is interested and wants to know the dates. I think it would be a good idea to find someone now.
This meeting is for input from the racers but all of us track owners have heard from them all season so I do not think there will be any surprises Sunday.

Two day race = 2 days of ambulance, insurance, labor, brain damage, etc… I do not think that people are willing to pay twice as much for entry fees, pitt spots, pitt pass. This is not a SKUSA national event. It would kill the club races and what have you gained? People cannot afford racing now and you want to double the cost for what? Bad idea!!

Kyle finished 4th in DD2 at the Grands. He just raced in Monaco with a 4-stroke Vampire and took 2nd. I think he would be more than capable of giving the USA a shot at running up front.

Not all of the TAG 4strokes are the same as far as what needs to be done on a maintenance schedule. For instance, a Vampire will need the timing chain adjusted at 5 hrs then checked again at 50hrs. This is a simple adjustment that you can do yourself. The valves will go 50 hrs before relaping. The valve guides are good for more than 300 hrs. The piston/rings 100 hrs, lower end bearings 300hrs.

The Tech-1 engine does not have a timing chain, it has gears so there is no adjustment.
Rebuilding the head in one of these engines compared to a Briggs is night and day. You do not have to worry about doing anything to the valve guides or seats because they are built for many hours of operation without getting loose or worn. You have to lap the seats, regrind the valve face, set the clearance and your good to go.

We ran the class last year and we will have many more 4-stroke TAGS running this season so we are going to run a light and heavy class similar to what we did at the TAGUSA World Finals.

Rental Karts? Sure $3 per lap and you break it you buy it, no problem. Or we can use Jims and he can use it as a tax write off.

TAG 4 stroke times at the TAGUSA World Finals

    1 18 Jesse Toby 51.001
    2 22 Matt Kistler 51.110
    3 6 A.J. Noud 51.159
    4 149 Marc Elliott 51.215
    5 211 Sam Walls 52.241
    6 170 Nate Norenberg 52.040
    7 14 Dale Kistler-Collins 51.974
    8 55 Ben Schermerhorn 52.033
    9 7 Gunter DeSanti 52.071

Looks like they are as fast or faster than the DD2 to me. Nothing beats the torque of the 4-stroke, nothing!
