Hey my sister Mikaela just got back from Area 51 and they were putting dirt BACK in the holes and the pool girl and grid girl were on Bronco corner holding signs looking for work (not that kind of work)

    Welcome to Colorado Karting!
The way you get good is a secret but I’ll tell you anyway. Put your gluteus maxximus in the seat and drive. When you get used to the speed and grip of the tires then you can really get to down to work.
Seat time is what makes you fast. When you are comfortable then you can start tweaking the kart to make it handle better and such.
But Michael Schumacher wasn’t Michael Schumacher out of the box so keep that in mind. Have fun while you get good.
What kind of kart? Engine? Class?
Look for a kart at the kart shops either new or used or in this classified section. As for a trailer call Trailer Source or look used in the local classified. Many choices, many things to consider…

    Angie,

Thanks for looking over the Formula One schedule and not conflicting with it. Appreciate the effort.

Now all I have to do is get Mikaela’s waxing appointment changed. 😥

Haven’t you all heard of church on Saturday evenings???

I have a wait and see attitude. I’ve met Tom and he seems like a good egg.

I also like the fact that regaurdless, a rule book is being writen as we speak.

Fact: Brad’s awards were nice from a local stance and it WAS nicer than SKUSA (or did I have too much scotch?)

If we have a rule book and enforce it then why can’t we play the “wait and see” game. 70 dollars kept locally is a lot of dough for US as racers. If they think the reason we should do this is to have a chance to go to Brazil I think we’re being had. I for one would rather pay our flaggers and get a competent crew than some of the volunteers (not all just a limited few). Give Ian and the other competent ones money for what they do.

Y’all want to jump in bed with the first girl who says yes and we all know where that gets us at times, right 8) There is NOTHING wrong with waiting. Let’s not make rash decisions okay.

    Jon,

Two tips you can work on now in the offseason:

#1 at the gym get a ten pound plate and stick it out in front of you shoulder height. Hold it out and “turn it” ten times to each side. Graduate up to a 45 pound plate or 35 if you aren’t that big or strong and build up those shoulders. They get tired and getting tired means you’re getting slow

#2 do some cardio work. Run or stairmaster for 20 minutes working up to as fast as your heart will allow you until your heart feels like it’s going to pop out of your chest, then give it that extra 10%. Getting tired means you’re getting slow.

The driving parts a piece of cake, see you at the track 8)

    Doug,

At this point I’d be happy for 35 degrees!
I hope Arizona’s warm and you get in some good testing. The only testing I am getting in is on a snowboard with Sam Walls! And 20 laps around the indoor running track here in Longmont!

    Wait’ll next year…

Merry Christmas err, Happy Holidays to all…

Keep away from the big macs Ben…
Roman, lots of reps not less
    Lee, Congrats for the season
I’m getting my kart 20 laps proofed so watch out in ’06 Masters…

    Gentlemen:

I really don’t have a desire to run Rmax. My main reason is because it would give me nothing but heartburn to get DQ’d because I have an illegal nut on my engine or such. I’ve heard about the draconian measures and “thankyou very much but no thanks” is my attitude. When they start spec’ing things for an advantage instead of using common sense then I’ll sit on the sideline. If that changes then perhaps I’ll change. Or am I wrong???? Tell me otherwise….

Cant’ we just all get along???

I agree with the “if he/she is fast they must be cheating” nonsense. Practice, learn and advance and you will be fast.

As for classes… this has been said many a time and I will reiterate it. If you have plenty of racers to race then bring it on! Doug Welch and others have had their say, “I’d rather race thirty and be middle of the pack than race 3 and be top dog” So, in the fairness to the 4 strokers… Get a good representative of racers and bring it on! You think JB, Stacey and Brad care about WHAT the class is? I think they’d rather care about HOW MANY is in the class.

So a rotax or Lepurd might be more than a Briggs or such. All I know is I LOVE racing against 15-20 other racers and I think everyone else would agree. Let’s move forward instead of “running in peanut butter.” Constantly changing always improving… No Jerry Springer here…
