    my nickel:

seat time is where you get fast. Ask questions around the track – people will be happy to tell you stuff. Gearing, jetting, and other things people will tell you when you practice. Race day is another thing.

You’re making it sound like we all don’t share our passion. If that is your observation you are missing the point by approximately a mile…

    8)

    Ask and yea shall get…

See you at IMI when it’s warm

    Curt,

That’s because everyone wants to race Keesling and Jansen 8)

Plus, what other group (TaG Masters) do you have sportsmanship, clean competition, and large fields each and every race? I’d rather race 20 and have 2-3 wide passing (IMI last season at both races) than 3 all by yourselves or combined with another class. And that doesn’t account for the cammeradierie (sp?) within the class. Sure, during the race we want to beat each others brains out but at the end of the day we’re drinking beer and having a good laugh. Then again none of us have illusions of a budding F1 Career or Nascar career either….

And again, everyone wants to race Keesling and Jansen…

    Jim,

You don’t need to wear your suit, you’ve worn it over the last 3 years…

Count me in. Glad to hear that they paved your dirt, or is that a rumour?

    Cheers!

    Ken,

That was decades ago! I raced at Trabuco Canyon the only year they had a national race there. They had a jump at the top of the canyon and we were landing halfway down the mountain, it was insane. Corona, Western States arena et al. Now it’s all houses.

I just hate repeating what happened then. I want a chance to compete for the top spot. Considering this season I’d have been happy just finishing in Masters at all the events. I figured my cost per lap and I (still) don’t know why I was smiling….

😥 8) But it’s still fun and Michael Andretti never won Indy either…

    Ken,

I like the fact that you have to be consistent but have a rotten weekend by your own mistakes or taken out by others and your flat out SOL. If we only had a couple of contests like promoto or stars I’d understand. However, have two people challenge for the championship decided by a DNF is unfortunate. I like the drop and considering the schedule last year (Mother’s Day race, Father’s Day race, July 4th holiday) and a drop gives us all a “regular” life too. When I was racing BMX in my teens the family holidays meant I could never be in the top 5 at the end of the season.

I like the drop, IMHO it should stay. Along with Rotax weight at 395…

    Ken,

The drop is nice when you have a VERY BAD WEEKEND mechanically or accident wise and you take last place.

Been there done that… But that’s last season 😀

    Humour eh? 8)

If I could change one thing about karting I’d go to The Bus Stop or Shotgun Willies and invite all the girls to race. Then, when they didn’t do well I could say, “Ben Wright was right, their breasts get in the way and they make them slower drivers”

    Just a thought.

Hey Jim, since you’re closest to Shotgun’s, I think you could invite them for a “corporate outing”. Brad the Bus Stop isn’t too far, you could invite them and then we could observe…

    😉

    Call it sciantific data gathering…

My two cents for next season as I see it:

Rich, I honestly don’t see a “real” discount on tires. Slim profit margin as I see it in its current condition.

Consolidate the poorly attended classes. How many shifter classes do we need or can’t they run together? What classes these would be I don’t know since I didn’t look at the CSC results before writing this. I know Ellie Mae would like to run the 4 strokes again. What was IMI’s turnout for such a class?

Flaggers, still need improvement to make them the best that they can be.

Finally, get the races started on time and finished within a reasonable time. I think overall the season went well in this category.

Have the meeting in January as soon as possible to see what direction we’re taking and we can all start adjusting to the possible changes.

Angie, if you can get a poll out via mail to find out what classes people are heading to we might have an idea in advance of consolidation etc…

And another thing… No two day events. Steamboat is the only race that should have that distinction… Father’s day race is fine, mother’s day isn’t…

And 20 lap mains in Tag Viagra is just fine in my books 8)

Kudos to the location and food. I loved the ribs last year but this location and food was tops, thanks for the great decision.

Drew/Rusty: If this Greeley race is over Memorial Day I will be at Indy cheering on Danica and Buddy Rice, sorry.

Finally, thanks everyone for a fun (but trying) season. I look forward to seeing you again next year and at the annual meeting…

Jim, gracias for not making me drink all of my mug of scotch. I owe you for that! Next year I will NOT get such an award…

Stacey, how was the fight? 😥

Rich, I’m working out and eating right and the engine’s ready to be refreshed so I’ll give you your 120 laps next year.

Cole, Congrats and for next year let’s work on that smile of yours. Its nice to see when your on podium, when you show it 😆 You can show me your practice smile this saturday at the banquet. Gives you plenty of time to show those pearly whites… 😆

Sorry about the fight. I told you that you should have taken Rockman!

Not going to my hometown but Stacey, put your money on ROCKMAN. Klitchko shouldn’t survive the rematch. But then again boxing is rigged and ever since I lost the “sweat pea” vs. Chavez I’ve given up on that side of the gambling arena.

Y’all have a good time, race hard and bring home some hardware…

The Rio??? That’s got trouble written all over it…

    Hey Rich,

I am at the gym 4-5 days a week getting back to the shape I was in 2004 so there. Then perhaps I can handle those missed laps at speed!

Kart is down to the frame right now and going over all nuts and bolts. Engine checkout comes next weekend so be gentle, I’ll be out there soon!

And I’m keeping away from the junk food Ben!

    Curt,

That was a given and I didn’t think it needed explaining.

BTW what’s the skinny at the track? Or do we still need to be thinking of off road tires?
