ParticipantEric, I didn’t know you were there at that race! I was there at the Inaugural when Prost took the #1 plate to Ferrari.
Jon: you da MAN!!! Even if it comes to DVD 6 month later I’ll be a pig in mud! Thanks for the update!
Now, if the shoulder would heal a little quicker…Mike Jansen

Jansen, sorry to hear you are broken. Time is all you need. Don’t push too hard too soon..
Frozen bag of corn on the shoulder nightly now (and Advil). Tuesday is the Doctor again. I know he’s going to chew me out too for being dumb. Racer, not listening to Dr. advice, get chewed out by Dr.
This is deja vu all over again when I was a kid! You’d think we’d learn as we aged…. I guess not!Mike Jansen
ParticipantKirk,
I went to Unser Tuesday night (two fer Tuesdays!) with a few colleagues and that place rocks. Hoosier tires are a NICE rental tire and those karts have some giddyup!
Now, back to reality: 2 sessions and my shoulder socket ACHES. The bag of frozen corn when i got home helped a lot and so did the Advil but there is no way I’m going to be able to pull gears let alone drive my TaG engine kart. I’m going to heal. My Doctor (Dr. Vinnie Boom Bach for those of you old enough to know him) shook his head and told me: You don’t learn do you?????
This getting injured stuff and being “mature” sucks…

ParticipantGet my shoulder healed first. I biffed it snowboarding and it’s not healing as quickly as I want. I did rental karts 2 weeks ago and that was stupidity on my part. I can barely hold it up. Glad the season’s far away in a sense…
How’s that Marine? Just read a great book on John Basilone, wow what a soldier. And I always thought nothing of Basilone Road off the 5 Freeway heading into Camp Pendleton back in the day…

ParticipantI love the Aussie race. Until then I’ll race my F2010 on my Playstation. My shoulder is (still) shot…

ParticipantDamn that Facebook!
What we are seeing is a world wide revolution. Kinda like the Berlin Wall back in the day.1 more month of jonesing for F1…
Is anyone interested in an F1 fantasy League?

Yep, Nigel was my favorite. Controlled agression….. I really liked his 1992 Championship #5 (Williams FW-14) car.
I believe, if my memory serves me correct, he won the Indy 500 as a rookie in 1993 as well.
Eddy
Close Eddy & Eric but no cigar! 93 he had the 500 all sewed up.
Me to the regulars in front of me who have sat at their seats a heck of a lot longer than I: “watch this Mansell guy in red 5, he’s a lion!”
Regulars: “We won’t be watching some british pansy who is over rated!”
10 laps into the race with Mansell passing in the short chute between 1 & 2, regularly, regulars in front turn around and say: “that guy’s got balls THIS BIG”
He lost the race at the final caution restart, Emmo took advantage of a rookie restart mistake, passed his into 1 and Emmo won his 2nd 500. Nigel did win the championship that year. IMO his move at Piralta (SP?) in Mexico was his ballsiest move ever. ON THE OUTSIDE!!! Then trying to pass Senna for 1st at Monaco in 92 (to blemish his victory total) was epic too. Almost the best 2nd place finish in F1 histroy (Gilles takes the cake)Out…

ParticipantJeff, thanks that was great!
This was the 1973 season when Stewart came back and won the championship and then Watkins Glen happened with Cevert…
Emmo was incredible, one has to wonder had he not raced for his brother’s team (??? Coopersucar???) how many more championships would he have won? But then again the Ferrari 312T came out two years later and dominated. But then that was supplanted by the Lotus 78 Mario won with in… 1978!
I really wish you younger guys could have seen the racing then. THAT, was racing at it’s best. The procession we get now is… lacking…Mike Jansen
ParticipantEpic!

ParticipantNow, if we could only get the Pay per View that they have in England where you can choose the coverage you want from what driver’s in car camera!
One can only wait and wish and be patient!

ParticipantMikey #1, if you are using the statement, “I’m just sayin’ ” then you’re already talking to her! That’s one of her faves…
There is NOTHING that i would put past a karter sitting in sub zero weather so I’m braced and expecting the worst! 8)
But she’s seen my snow driving/drifting skills and thinks I’m the second coming of Gilles “volvo” :bang
We’re sitting down next time to watch an F1 race AND the DVR’d Race the Rockies races. She’ll be up to snuff by spring or the first F1 race. AND know how to pronounce Villeneueve correctly…Mikey #2
