ParticipantChaz,
I remember that Butt whuppin’ it was my first look at the track too! I had to take advil for the dizziness (so many spins during practice). JB has really improved the track from that race to the 2nd race there. I think the track is rough but i really like how technical it is.
That’s why i look forward to next year’s series! I didn’t realize it was Mitch’s first look too. I was checking out results from all the races and IF we can get half of the people to participate in CSC we’ll have a crowded and fun field.
Walls and I did our sit ups at the gym this early AM. You all best be ready for ’04. I’ll let my times speak for themself next season.

ParticipantGuyz,
It’s lepurd until it takes first in class…
Good luck Mark, let them know that there’s some serious pilots here in the rocky mountians…November 10, 2003 at 11:19 pm in reply to: New to Karting. Please help me choose a motor! kindof long.. #45194Mike Jansen

I will be at the track with my Dad this weekend, he wants to see what all the hub ub is all about. He’s coming from Vegas to see who the real Nancy Boy is. Wants to take out a REAL Kart, you know, the one with the boil on the back of the exhaust. I told him it’s truly the Manly Man engine, not the “flavour du jour” 8)
I’d give you a tow but my trailer only holds one kart (I think)
You guyz keep barking cuz someone’s going to have to back up all this smack. And I thought there was a lot of trash talking on the Hoops court ❗

Rich, have you noticed that the rotaxians 8) are able to spell? I guess if you have a lepurd you have difficulty spelling since you’d REALLY worry if your engine is REALLY cool instead of being quietly confident like us rotaxians. We truly must have the schwerve and the schwing 😛

ParticipantGentlemen (and Dennis) 😳
I have to bring this up since someone has the facts incorrect pertaining to me. I bought my kart in March (and promptly put it in the IMI infield water puddle that day) and started racing in April. Last year I was a ‘newbie” but i put in a lot of practice time at IMI. Since the Rotax is such a simple unit to maintain i got in more practice time than down time. Therefore with that thinking I would have to say that the UGLY PIMPLY Rotax is the bomb.
Rich, Thanks for the advice. It will be inspected after next weekend’s practice session.
Dennis, cash in your cheese and tell me about the engine difference when you get yours. I’ll be curious to see what you have to say (benedict) arnold. 😀
Do we get to keep our same numbers as last year if you’re not in the top 5?

A few Questions for all the recent posts.
1) Rich you said you change the oil on your rotax, are you talking about the gearbox and a gear eaten up there? (i am still learning, sorry)
2) Dennis, so you joined the dark side eh? 🙁
3) Another lepurd on the track eh? Just one more Lepurd to have BEHIND the rotaxes!
4) I suggest you all start training now because resting on THIS years laurels ain’t gonna cut it for NEXT year. Next year will rock in the TAG class. Better get fast or you’ll be last! And last means your a Nancy Boy.
5) Money race is fine with me. Nancy Boy (last) gets a thong… 😀 😀Mike Jansen

ParticipantChaz, OUCH! Are you going to let Rich talk to you like that!? 😀 You better get on the track.
Mark, your focus should be Super Nats so after that i would love to have a $ race. Can I give government cheese instead of money for entry. 😉 Maybe we could do IMI and the next one would be at Action Karting (Bandemere) so we can get fair experience at both.
Rich, Dennis, fellow rotaxians (sounds kool doesn’t it) What is the cost to crate, ship and top end a rotax? I need to know so i can trade in my government cheese or food stamps for real money to support this habit. And how much time does it take from day shipped to date returned.

ParticipantMy bad, I forgot all about the Sonik engine. And Chaz you’re right about it and AJ running in Steamboat. There’s a new guy at IMI (Patrick) who bought a GP with a sonik and it’s a slick little package although I don’t know much about the engine. Talk to AJ Noud about that engine… once thier shop is up and running.
Like i said, i like my two stroke with the zit on the back of the engine. But it’s the Driver’s ability that makes a good package great.

ParticipantOkay Snapperheads here’s my take on this brewing controversy! 😀
I too run a Rotax like DennisNumber one is that I agree with all responses pertaining to GET LOCAL SUPPORT! Rotax, Lepurd or Biland all have great support from the shops and from the racing fraternity.
As for your weight put it this way, i weigh in at 205 to 210 (solid) and i can’ t lose any more weight without my wife taking me to the Doctor for an AIDS test. I too come off the scales at 398-401 in the senior class. What I do is make marks on my tank and fill fuel to that point. Trial and error and you’ll figure your “marks”.
Mark Elliot with his lepurd @ Bandemere was .2 seconds better than I was and considering it’s his home track and that i am 20# over the weight limit i am happy with that. Now, put Mark @ IMI and both Dennis and I are faster. So the old saying it’s not what you drive but how you drive it rings true.
Jets? a minor adjustment on the Rotax. Half the fun is running a leaner jet till you find out what is optimum! However, the lepurd has the advantage over the Rotax pertaining to the “pimple” on the back of the engine AKA exhaust valve. Make sure you keep this clean or you’ll have no response on the track and end up 1.3 seconds off the pace as I did in Steamboat.
Would I buy another Rotax? Absolutely! It’s an easy engine to work on, low maintenance and cheap (ask me that after i send it in for a top end come January) and i like the response out of corners and top end.
Besides, i finished 6th in class and am looking to a top 3 next year. (With my Rotax and stock fuel without slick 50, Dennis 😈 )
What i am trying to say is get what YOU want and don’ t buy into the BS about X being better than Y or Z. It’s the driver with a well tuned engine, any engine…. See you at the track. By the way, the Biland sounds the best in my opinion. Now that is a true race engine sound!

ParticipantYes this weekend (11/8 or 11/9). As for the $ race that would be great! Heck I’d even race for an Old Milwaukee beer!
More on this later in the week. Anyone else???Mike

ParticipantDennis and Tyler,
It’s a good thing I won’t be in town for the IMI race. If i was I’d T-bone you both to take the season ending victory. I’ve got to make up for my Debacle at Steamboat!
