I have been around this sport a bit and one thing I have found helpful is to write your goals down to help you acknowledge your desires. Write them down and stick to them. Tell all to motivate you and everyone around you. Do this and you will have achieved half your goal.. Godspeed…

March 13, 2011 at 11:32 pm #64888Garrick MitchellParticipantGoal: Drive my kart more than ONCE this year. :rant :bang
March 14, 2011 at 6:29 pm #64889Mike JansenParticipantGet my shoulder healed first. I biffed it snowboarding and it’s not healing as quickly as I want. I did rental karts 2 weeks ago and that was stupidity on my part. I can barely hold it up. Glad the season’s far away in a sense…
How’s that Marine? Just read a great book on John Basilone, wow what a soldier. And I always thought nothing of Basilone Road off the 5 Freeway heading into Camp Pendleton back in the day…

This will be Eli Ziegler’s first year in S2 and I am looking forward to doing everything I possibly can for him and his dad. I love being at the track with all of the great racers and families.
Jansen, hold my beer, watch this!
March 17, 2011 at 3:10 pm #64890Mike JansenParticipantKirk,
I went to Unser Tuesday night (two fer Tuesdays!) with a few colleagues and that place rocks. Hoosier tires are a NICE rental tire and those karts have some giddyup!
Now, back to reality: 2 sessions and my shoulder socket ACHES. The bag of frozen corn when i got home helped a lot and so did the Advil but there is no way I’m going to be able to pull gears let alone drive my TaG engine kart. I’m going to heal. My Doctor (Dr. Vinnie Boom Bach for those of you old enough to know him) shook his head and told me: You don’t learn do you?????
This getting injured stuff and being “mature” sucks…
March 18, 2011 at 2:11 am #64891RogerBonhamParticipantGood to hear some folks have goals this season.. I’ll post mine although minimal. I would like to bench 275 this year at 170lbs. I would like to enter a long drive competition and place. I want to get my son to do some laps in his kart at 4 years old. I would like to drive a tag kart for the first time. I want to witness the best karting colorado has to offer in racing.
Jansen, sorry to hear you are broken. Time is all you need. Don’t push too hard too soon.. Take care..
Seller Fi all..

Frozen bag of corn on the shoulder nightly now (and Advil). Tuesday is the Doctor again. I know he’s going to chew me out too for being dumb. Racer, not listening to Dr. advice, get chewed out by Dr.
This is deja vu all over again when I was a kid! You’d think we’d learn as we aged…. I guess not!March 18, 2011 at 1:24 pm #64894Jeff FieldParticipant@Kirk Deason wrote:

That’s an awfully steep hill to climb. 😆
This year, it looks like I won’t be racing much at all, but I’m stoked to tune for Christian Schureman on the Pro Tour. Maybe I’ll do a few LeMons endurance races. There is something that I’d really like to take a shot at. I’d love to win the USF2000 test day attached to the Rock Island King of the Streets. The test day would be a pretty big deal, and could lead to a start at the St. Petersburg rounds of the 2012 championship. I’m in the best shape of my life, and I won’t be able to afford a formula car any time soon, so that path to a test seems as likely as any.
Good luck to all you guys in achieving your goals this year, on and off the track.
