Run a RMax race the day before the CSC dates. You can run B’stones, which would be a good tire for the CSC. All you need a couple of hours in the afternoon or morning. There’s only 4 classes, you can get it all done in 4 hours. The staff’s already there, the racers are there, easy money.

With the Rotax Grands in Salt Lake, it’s looking good for Rotax particpation here in the state.

i would really like some track in the Denver area to step up and run a R-max Challenge series.

Sorry George, it is just too far down to Calhan-2.25 hrs for me.

we can have CRE in the Southern half and a denver area track in the North, but would that split the rotax group up-yes; and race entries would go down; competition numbers down-not good

I wonder how many rotax guys in the Denver area:
    Charles G.
    rich V.
    Mike J.
    Craig M.
    ??????????? who else????????

One time I was looking at the number of guys who run Tag (master and seniors) with in the CSC and club who have not done a RMax race. The number is surprizingly large. The majority of Tag karts are Rotax and most of them have not run a RMax race. I think if given the option, many would.

If you remember last year Stacey was thinking of doing RMax races before the CSC events at his track but Mojo’s got in the way. With that lifted, it might make sense to do RMax races on Saturday now.

In the picture on the front of the home page with the gorilla driver in a Birel, isn’t that a Rotax DD2 bumper? Maybe Jim inadvertently showed us that the Track at Centennial will run a Rmax series???

If there was an RMax series in the Denver area, it could draw more entries into both RMax and TaG races. If someone is looking to buy a TaG kart, being able to also run RMax would be an enticement to get a Rotax. Having the ability to run two series could attract more people to TaG/RMax. More karters in a class will attract more karters, and that’s what we want.

    Gentlemen:

I really don’t have a desire to run Rmax. My main reason is because it would give me nothing but heartburn to get DQ’d because I have an illegal nut on my engine or such. I’ve heard about the draconian measures and “thankyou very much but no thanks” is my attitude. When they start spec’ing things for an advantage instead of using common sense then I’ll sit on the sideline. If that changes then perhaps I’ll change. Or am I wrong???? Tell me otherwise….

You’ll be fine. I’d say they’d look at carb first and foremost. Other than that, the “Seal is the Deal”……..and who would take the effort to cheat when you’ll pick up more time in the chassis then anything.

Heavy thumbs up for RMAX series here:)

There are really only a couple of areas of concern for a Tag. As Chuck pointed out, the carb. Just make sure you put all the jets back to stock Rotax specs. The seal is intact with a passport. If there is a fuel filter is in front of the pump, it must say Rotax. The stock radiator is in place. Thats about it.

The deal killer last year was the tires. The chassis setup is very different between the Mojos and the MGs, it wasn’t worth it to make the changes. Worse, they are extensive (mainly seat postion). The other area is front brakes, RMax allows them. But again, a Gatorz has shown, the local series doesn’t have to permit them if they don’t want to.

I see it as a win-win for both racers and track owners. We get more options, they get more money.

    Doug,

We are planning on running Rmax this year, working on the schedule now… It is really hard to shut down the track on Sat for the guys preparing for the CSC the next day but if the numbers were there we could sure try and figure something out… Have a great X-Mas..

Maybe RMax could spec a rotax headlight for some night racing?

Run an RMC series on MG’s or YHC’s and no front brakes allowed and I will be there. I was all ready with Rotax license in hand and due to the great differences in MG’s and MOJO’s I did not run a single RMC event last season.

Mike, you would have a good time at an RMC event. No one can use the engine or weight excuse. It is tuning and driving. By the way, CRE runs a great RMC event if they are the only option for us on the front range it is worth the trip down.

    Tom
