Let’s turn this into something constructive. Mike(y) could you share your process for getting these elusive sponsors? I’m jealous! What’s it like to have someone else’s money to spend?

Get some, Zippie! All of us backmarkers are rooting for you. You too, AJ, show those guys what the rocky mountain racers are made of. (well, show them what you FAST guys are made of, anyway, hahah). Good luck!

This post is veering off course into the ‘everything that’s wrong with karting’ from Spec Moto which (in my opinion) is one of the things RIGHT with karting.

As to your suggestion that there are low turnouts in TaG, I respectfully disagree. TaG Masters has the largest turnout of all of the classes. Definitely more than 10 per race. TaG senior has slightly lower kart counts because it has become the local TaG PRO class.

Now..back to the SPEC MOTO discussion. If I wanted to shift, I would definitely go with the Honda pkg.

Anyone want to 2nd my intention of asking Barry to help out my YZ? I know this thread is about SM, sorry.

Seconded. From what I have seen and heard, Barry knows his way around the insides of most motors and kart setups. Call him and ask!

It’s just a slow day here. I am psyched to get the HARDkart out for the enduro. I fear that we wont have enough teams. Are you and Roman in? Teammates? What new karts/chassis/motors are you running this season?

So far: International Brokers (original impetus), Team HARDKart, and….? *crickets chirping*

I saw the Robopong race and those race teams had only 2 drivers for a 4 hour race. we have a 3 hour race and I was thinking 3 drivers. (mostly i was thinking 3 drivers to help spread the fiscal load around). Oh and our secret weapon,Tony LaPorta, will be dictating our pit strategy and logistics.

Stop staring at my crotch. Let’s extract some key words from your comment and analyze them for suspect content: ‘pop out’ ‘hard’ ‘skin’ ‘tube’ Home psychoanalysts can now begin their assesments and post results.

I cannot believe I missed this post by you. While trolling the interwebs on this slow day I found your flame bait.

Just to clarify, Orion wears the poly for the ladies. They love the rippling muscles and the tight pants. It’s not how you finish, it’s how you LOOK when you finish. Someday you’ll cast aside the baggy GP suit in favor of the Orion FLAVOR.

The Mitchell ‘report’ is full of lies. Orion has always been ‘roid free and merely offered some pitching tips to Clemens and a few swing tips to help the bat speed of Mr Bonds. We deny everything.

Schmidt, Keesling et al. can issue their own press releases. I only saw them sporadically at BALCO. I mean I never saw them. I mean I was never at BALCO. This is all off the record, right?

Those same videos from Doug Hayashi show Jeff Welch getting run over in turns 1 and 2 of his two heat races. What a heart breaker for anyone who raced at the supernats to get wrecked before ONE lap is complete. See Doug’s video called ‘mistakes’.

Curt, post some more videos! I really want to see the GGP race (with the JUMP!!)

Rick, that is awesome news about the sponsor! Way to beat the bushes. Your new name is ‘Bushmaster’.

Jansen, good to see you still have your sense of humor. Your hat size is WAY bigger than 9.5.

Rusty, thanks for your hard work trying to make the race work. I really enjoyed the weekend and have fond memories since the GGP was my first ‘real’ race two years ago. Bummer.

I’ll never forget the jump. I think every track should have a jump.

I have Memo Gidley’s secrets of Speed for Two Cycle Kart Racing book. I found it to be informative and clearly written. I found another book of his on Amazon called’Everything you need to know’ etc etc.
If prior work is an indicator, I’d say this would be a good title for winter reading as well. Amazon/Google Memo Gidley or Jeff Grist. (coauthors).

Subscribe to Kartsport magazine. (just an opinion)
