I’ll put my money where my my mouth is. To whom shall I send this money for registration? Team HARD Kart powered by the DOMINATOR will be there. Watch out for our new polyester jumpsuits, They’re snug. Don’t be mad when your seester is hanging out in our pit.

That’s one. We need at least ten teams. Who else will register a team?

Thanks Rick. Good thing I’m staring at the laptop this morning or I would have missed that. The interwebs are the greatest EVER! Thanks Al Gore!

Why don’t we try to keep our expectations for an exact date low, and keep our flexibility high. Let’s wait until mother nature gives us a a clear two days of decent weekend weather as predicted by local weather watchers. Let’s be specific so there are no complaints; IE set a minimum predicted temperature of what?? 50 F? We all want to plan ahead and know an exact date but no one can predict (for example) that it won’t be 35 degrees and raining on (for example) the weekend of January 5th and 6th.

    1) Can we agree to keep the date OPEN due to weather impediments? Shooting for any decent weekend after 01 January 08?
    2) Is 50 Degrees F a reasonable minimum daily high temp for the race?

    Please discuss.

Tony, quit whining about that ‘other’ thread. The venom in that thread was directed not at you (though it may have felt like it); rather the collective anger and finger wagging was directed at the dumb kid who took his racing vehicle on the street. That was a bad decision.

I do have questions…….and maybe a suggestion….could we share the number 46….now listen to me before you say no….. we build a two seater kart…..alot like the drving school indy type cars….you can drive I got no problem with that….as long as you can stand me complaining about your driving.
    Tim

Tim, I haven’t been around long enough to tell you NO, you CANNOT have #46. We can share it if you are a true fan of The Doctor, Valentino Rossi. If you are just pulling my chain, then ya got me. As for you complaining about my driving, I used to be married, take your best shot. Besides, everyone complains about my driving.

Psshaw, Ar-50. I scoff. I rotary fart in your general direction. Tony and I have an abundance of confidence which will overcome your abundance of speed and, umm, skill.

Actually I’d like to see a couple rotaries (sp?) on track with the everyone else. They sound great and make everything else look pathetic. I’d like to see Roman pass a few, wait I mean ALL, shifters in one.

Im planning on racing only at the club level…..do I register my number or just show at the track and hope no one has it?
I saw the registration form for last season for the IMI/TTAC series…..Is that what I need to fill out and that secures my number?

Does each track have the transponders, do I just get them on race day or do I need to rent them for the season?

    TIm

Tim, at the club level, people don’t get too uptight about much. Just don’t try and use #46 in TaG Fat/Old. That’s my number. I let Valentino Rossi use it since he’s in a different series. However, if you register and get your check to Angie before me…

Regarding the transponder…take a deep breath and buy one. They aren’t cheap (around 200 bucks) but the ones that the series or track owners have as rentals are running on their last legs. In addition, people are gently ‘encouraged’ to purchase their own since the outlay for a track owner or series promoter to supply them for all racers is pretty hefty. A transponder can be purchased from Brad at IMI or from Barry at Billet Performance in Parker. I’m sure George at CRE has them for sale as well if you live down south.

I fear the same fate as the Grand Junction Enduro, it’s kind of chilly out there.

Tony, if you want to race my kart you have to fit in the seat. AND you have to help me fix the starter and prep the kart at the HARDKart team garage. I like your avatar.

    Speaking of avatars, where’s Jansen?

Good initiative, Rick. This site and the knowledge that has been shared has saved me A LOT of money and frustration. I can’t put a price on it, but I hope we can all kick a few bucks to Angie to keep our site on track.

I would add a chain breaker and a battery tender to that list.

Maybe a small compressor? I use a ‘pancake’ style compressor and pump it up to 80 lbs or so before I go to the track, that takes care of any tire pressure changes I need throughout the day. In lieu of a compressor, a lot of guys get a nitrogen tank with a regulator from a welding supply shop. I think the tanks come in a few different sizes.

Get a couple extra throttle cables, too, they wear and break frequently and are one of the few cheap items in karting.

ZIP TIES! Lots of them, get different sizes.

I also used my brake bleeder quite a bit. here’s a pic, I bought it from George at CRE.

Most guys at the track have their favorite tire changing equipment…so far I have been able to get away without it. I have an extra set of wheels that I take to IMI to have them mount/dismount the rubber. In a pinch, another racer can help you out with the tires and wheels. (I’m going though my head thinking about my own previous F-ups and trying to pass along what I learned..I had alot of issues but learned from each one.)

Get a couple spare chains to have handy and the same with sprockets. TaG karts eat them, and they will eat your wallet if you dont check the tension after EVERY session.

Get a couple extra credit cards, make sure you give one to me and keep your other one handy…your first year will be expensive.

Oh, so you guys all want to race, but, in the other guys kart! It will be an endurance race to see who can hold out the longest :loony:
    on sharing their ride!

Sounds like the perfect way to market those ‘long life’ 4 stroke TaG motors to the masses..hmmmmmmmm who has one of those??? Oh yeah, RICK has one of those!! Hell, if we’re going down that road…an Aixro would be a killer weapon for an Enduro. But now I’m just dreaming. We did say no rules, right?

I would race with Tony (road runner) but the XXXL seat size will have me bouncing around like a ping pong ball. I’m looking for smaller teammates/seat sizes (ahem…Nick?) Jeff would be a good fit for a smaller seat, too. Nick, were you offering your kart? I’m looking for a ride…Troy?

I’m mad at my kart right now, that’s why Team HARDkart isn’t doing the endurance race (solo). Jeff broke (just kidding) the starter at the last race at Centennial. After all the racing was done, I was gonna let Jeff take his first ever ride in a TaG kart…Jeff got all geared up, sat down in the high-powered HARDkart and pushed the green button…the silence was deafening. This was my third starter failure this season. Again, it is ‘just’ the brushes inside the starter, but MAN this starter problem is starting to piss me off!

Tim, that is an excellent question, metal flake IS worth about 1 tenth..as long as it is GOLD metal flake. Gold is for winners.

Sheldon, we’re glad you’re here. Help us keep up the lively banter on here, this is a great site and a great group of helpful racers. Make sure you get your helmet painted with some flourescent (sp) colors, it is worth a second a lap.

I’m in if I can buy a seat on someone else’s ride. Raceday costs divided by the number of drivers? tires/fuel/pit space, etc. I’m interested but my kart isn’t.

    Rules? none.
