Hello everybody,
… We also need to finalize plans for what charity we will donate to…There are so *many worthy causes that might be of interest – animals, kids, poverty, environmental, etc. But please let me know, you guys, if you’d like me to find out more about the domestic abuse charity I mentioned in an earlier posting.

ParticipantI love the idea of an enduro, I love the idea of entry fee’s going to charity too, but as it looks now im not to sure about myself racing in it. that is unless some one has a team with a spot to fill and would like me to drive with.
So if i dont get an offer like that
(Ah Em, Mr Hard Kart team :redman) i would love to help any body who need’s an extra hand in the pits.
Of course No charge at all.
If Interested please call 970-346-2244 0r 970-313-6775
Hope to see everyone at this thing. 😀November 29, 2007 at 12:47 am #60154Rick Schmidt
ParticipantI sold all Romans chassis and am reloading. But if someone with a size 4 seat wants to share a kart and expenses. We would love to participate. If not, I’ll come help tune for someone.

You may want to contact Brian Robson. He was involved in putting together the ill fated (10 dgrees at the time) Grand Junction enduro. He has been involved with some of the Newcastle and midwest enduros and might save some head aches. He had some rules ready and would probably share.

ParticipantI fear the same fate as the Grand Junction Enduro, it’s kind of chilly out there.
Tony, if you want to race my kart you have to fit in the seat. AND you have to help me fix the starter and prep the kart at the HARDKart team garage. I like your avatar.
Speaking of avatars, where’s Jansen?

ParticipantHello,
Since this really is about being able to finish the race at all, I say you score it as:
1) most laps shifter kart – open,
2) most laps single speed – open.
Throw away the weights, class motors, DD2 is a shifter, must change drivers every 45 min. max. and 2 drivers min. per team.
Only adult classes or drivers (14 +?), all karts on the track same time.Fueling, tires, red bull, coffee, head slaps, profanity, brakes, “what were you thinking???!!!” all subject to each teams discretion. Have to change drivers no later than 45 min.
Angie starts timing, drives to I Hop, has a warm breakfast, reads the paper, has seconds on coffee, drives back to track, actually going 35 MPH down the access road, comes to a full stop at the stop sign, talks to gate keeper, scopes out the entire parking lot for a parking space, slowly walks thru the shop/office, says “Hi” to Bobby and Brad again, checks out Mylaps for other race results around the country, edits a few post on the Karter, walks around the paddock, wishes Cole was racing with the twins (thinks they would win this EASY), moseys up to scoring tower, checks on time remaining, walks back to shop/office, thinks about class structure for next year, prepares for next weeks meeting/party, walks over to Team Dog House and tells them they are the best (as far as we know), skips up to scoring tower (thank you Jager Bomb!!!) and gets ready to turn off timing and declare a winner.
Team Jansen does pretty much the same thing after Mike makes it two laps and dies near the hairpin. Teammates to lazy to walk and go fetch kart and fix it, so they go to breakfast with Angie…
This sounds like a BLAST!!!!
Jim (can you say AR-50?)

ParticipantJim, I would be glad to run your AR-50 the first or second segment.

ParticipantOne last idea…
We all have our charity of choice, so I say the proceeds go to The Colorado Karter…,
and each of us still give to who you normally help this time of year.

ParticipantGeez jim,
Got the thinking cap on?
Love it! Give the Csc the money.
Run what you brung. F1 fueling rigs, a small rotary with a pipe so hot you can see through it.
I can run Roman in a shared Tag (Brad can Rodney, Ronnie and Roman run your Ar-50 to give Jim a run?) (Craig will pay for any crash damage)then get him out after his 45 minutes and put him in his new shifter for another 45 minutes. I like it. Actually saving the shifter for later.
We don’t really care what the format is, the drivers who can finesse their equipment will win. Or maybe, whoever has the most fun will win! Maybe getting a little money towards the Karter and Csc and We All Win!.

ParticipantPsshaw, Ar-50. I scoff. I rotary fart in your general direction. Tony and I have an abundance of confidence which will overcome your abundance of speed and, umm, skill.
Actually I’d like to see a couple rotaries (sp?) on track with the everyone else. They sound great and make everything else look pathetic. I’d like to see Roman pass a few, wait I mean ALL, shifters in one.

ParticipantHi all,
If this deal gets pulled together I would be interested in running. My kart is still being built so I’d be happy to split costs with anybody who’s brave enough to share their equipment. PM me if you dare!!
November 29, 2007 at 1:15 pm #60162Angie MacEwen
ParticipantJim, thanks! I know I am an obvious “charity case” :loony:
I would love to help with this thing AFTER THE BANQUET, AFTER THE MEETING, AFTER THE HOLIDAYS. To be honest, I haven’t even been following this thread closely (I missed my name being called for help, even). That is because I am kinda busy with other things. As for taking on more of it, it would have to wait til January. When exactly were you thinking of having this event? You can count me in for scoring, anyway.
Stacey, didn’t you guys run one of these over there? What did you do for classes, rules, entry, etc.?
Angie

ParticipantOK,
Heres what I think…
The only Tech is one rep. per team to check on the 45 min. required pit stop/driver change. No need for scales, tires, etc…Flaggers, and pit spot layout. I think we need a required 5 min “in pit” delay. Once you pit for fuel/driver, you have to stay at least 5 min. prior to entering back on the track.
Run what you brung. Has to be a sprint kart.. normal safety equipment, and pre tech stuff…Entry fee… $100.00 per team??? 1/2 to IMI for flaggers, 1/2 to The Karter.
10 teams min. to run. 2 trophies… 1 gearbox, 1 single speed.I can handle registration if you want.
Race starts at 10:00am, ends at 1:00pm. weather permitting.Brad, does this work for you?
November 29, 2007 at 5:32 pm #60164Jeff Field
ParticipantI agree with all Jim’s suggestions and Angie about the date. Look for a break in the weather on a weekend in Jan/feb and pull the trigger.
I’d consider running my shifter (medium seat) if there is some interest. Kirk, if you are serious about preparing the hardkart, I’d help for sure.
