Hey Jeff, if you put a shifter team together I’d love to be in it.

The date will not be up to me. Let’s talk to Brad and Jim and see what we can put together.

Why don’t we try to keep our expectations for an exact date low, and keep our flexibility high. Let’s wait until mother nature gives us a a clear two days of decent weekend weather as predicted by local weather watchers. Let’s be specific so there are no complaints; IE set a minimum predicted temperature of what?? 50 F? We all want to plan ahead and know an exact date but no one can predict (for example) that it won’t be 35 degrees and raining on (for example) the weekend of January 5th and 6th.

    1) Can we agree to keep the date OPEN due to weather impediments? Shooting for any decent weekend after 01 January 08?
    2) Is 50 Degrees F a reasonable minimum daily high temp for the race?

    Please discuss.

As long as it doesn’t snow, I’ll be in that seat for ya buddy.
50 is warm compared to crappy/rainy/windy 40 degree days in Formula cars in canada šŸ˜† :rotate: :loony:

    Ok Ok Ok,

We will see when it comes time to put up or shut it. Just like the enduo at Grand Junction last year. Everyone was clucking like chickens about how great it was going to be and I think it was about 5 of us that actually sent in our entry fee. I am all for it but I’m not getting all worked up over it until it’s a done deal.

I’ll put my money where my my mouth is. To whom shall I send this money for registration? Team HARD Kart powered by the DOMINATOR will be there. Watch out for our new polyester jumpsuits, They’re snug. Don’t be mad when your seester is hanging out in our pit.

That’s one. We need at least ten teams. Who else will register a team?

Well Joe. We were sitting there with some pretty well prepped machines and a very capable driver line up. But we checked the weather synopsis and it didn’t look too good. (did you?) Go to Noaa and check the average Colorado temperature in January. It would have been 2 stroke suicide to race in 15 degree weather. But would have been fun to watch the 5 of you try to make it. Or just to watch the 5 of you stand outside for 3 + hours in the weather they had that day. I’ve golfed and repaired frozen pipes in January! It was 75 degrees earlier this week, could have been 5 degrees!

What about making the race in February or early March? And offering Brad some volunteer corner worker rotations from the paddock. Seems pretty risky for him to set aside a full support crew for a questionable race date? Bobby could run on a supply of of warm refreshments but corner workers? Just for us frustrated “winter racers”?

This needs to have some flexibility as Kirk mentioned, or a little more reasonable race date. You can plan your practice days with a day or two notice. But assembling a race takes more.

    Kirk,

Please be very careful with your polyester (girly) driving suits around the Kartworks endurance entry when warming up on the stand! Something bad could happen. See link.

You may end up wishing you had a fire extinguisher where your mouth is instead of your money!

I like Jim’s idea’s of keeping it simple. It will be a matter of survival anyway. We just need to have some flexibility in the date / month. Maybe offer the track a little help in pulling it off. Go out and have some fun. If you commit to a January day. The entries will be last minute. Everyone will wait to see what everyone / the weather is doing anyway. You’ll have a few sticking their chest’s out but won’t / can’t race if it’s too cold.

What do you think? Planning a race in January could be awesome or just talk. Hard to predict.

I’m sorry Big Daddy. That Kartworks 4-Stroke just looks soooo good warming up on the stand! Couldn’t help myself.
