ParticipantHey racers,
Why don’t we flip Angie a few bucks to support the web site? We use it and benefit from it. Look at how badly some of us where frustrated, when she was having issues with it. The forum comments; not always positive, sometime very much positive and everything in between. Point is? This is our lifeline for communicating, sharing, laughing, debating, helping new racers come into the sport, making announcements, and so on. Search around a little. I have. We actually have a very active forum, which benefits everyone from the prospective new racer to the track owners. A whole lot of mailers and phone calls going out for sure without the Karter. Just think what it would take to reschedule a last minute race date because of impending weather?
Tough time of the year to cough up money but, pretty sure a modest donation would help out. Her equipment is aging (like me) and I for one, would really miss having our own forum. Sure we would have Ekn, which is great, but we are not going to be as free on the National site. Plus new racers are going to be too intimidated about asking the ultimate “stupid question” and are not going to gather information and start relationships with others they’ll meet at the track and race with in the near future.
Bet if it went down for a month or two, we would be throwing a few bucks at her. Think about it.

ParticipantGood initiative, Rick. This site and the knowledge that has been shared has saved me A LOT of money and frustration. I can’t put a price on it, but I hope we can all kick a few bucks to Angie to keep our site on track.

ParticipantSounds like a great proposition.
I have some “links” for you Andy! Where the drink flows and the men swing a real club and lie about the… Wait that’s golf…(which I suck at too) Never mind.
Congrats to your team at the Super Nats. By the way. Pretty impressive. I can understand why you sat it out due to being a little sore. Sitting down there trying to figure out what the hell Romans kart was doing in the sweeper, didn’t expect to see that hard of an impact from anyone in practice, much less you. Must have been hurting. Smart to lay back a little.

ParticipantYeah, I was trying a bit too hard.
I had someone do splits on me vs. Paul and John.
I was faster than them by two tenths in the driving sections, from turn one, through the entrance to the chicane. BUT, I lost 4 tenths to them from the exit of the chicane to the entrance to turn one. Most of is was in the last turn, the big sweeper.
I was trying a bit too hard to find that four tenths and piled it up.
I am recovering, but I sneezed about 20 minutes ago and almost started crying.

I was doing splits on you guys and Roman. We were right in there with you. Same problem, just could not tune through the sweeper. Bad place to struggle. There goes the trap speed in the passing zone. We were sitting ducks. Real free and fast through the infield, too free through the sweeper. It does not help when you only get 5, 7 minute practice sessions and run over a bungee cord in one session and get taken out by someone getting back on the track in another. We felt 2 sessions behind everyone the whole race. Thats racing and we love it.
Glad your injury happened at this time of the season. You’ve got a month. Right? Someone told me your frame was bent, we knew there was more to it than that. Your shop is not that far away, worse case scenario.
Enjoy the holidays, don’t sneeze, don’t laugh, don’t yawn, don’t breath…

ParticipantRick,
You said you might race masters next year. I will pay the site $20.00 every time you beat me and you pay $20.00 if i happen to beat you. That is a win win for the site. :cheers:November 27, 2007 at 10:22 pm #60252stacey cook

ParticipantStacey,
You should pay $20.00 per racer per race with your mountian of money.November 28, 2007 at 12:25 am #60254Rick Schmidt
ParticipantI’d go out there and give you BOY’S a bare a$$ whoopin, but my wife thinks this neck full of titanium is just to risky. No sense of humor. Gonna have to sick the kid on ya!
And I would still do the same thing with Roman racing. $20 either way. Hell, I usually share $150 worth of my beer cooler around! Whats $20 to make it more interesting?

ParticipantAndy, you got it.
Rick, and everybody out there… Thank you ! It is nice to be appreciated, that’s for sure, and a few dollars coming in makes it much easier to stay up late and do what it takes to keep this thing going AND hopefully make it better. I hope you all are getting used to the new look and features on the site. Please feel free to let me know if something isn’t working right, or if you have an idea on how I might make it better.
So, thanks again, one and all. Maybe I will get a new computer for Christmas after all!
