Glad to see a schedule. I do have a question though. Are we going to be having a sanctioning body, or our we going back to rules written in grey? It looks like Brandon and myself will be missing at least two of the csc races anyway so probably won’t matter to us if the csc goes back to grey rules. One drop and one zero points equals no way to get a championship.

If weight is an issue there is another alternative called exercise. Yes this is coming from someone that could use exerise himself, and if I was going to race I would want to be in decent shape.

    JIM,

Is there going to be a “TRACK” to race on? If so when will it be ready for us to test and tune our 125 ICC with nitrous on the cadet kart?

    Stacey,

I will gladly sponser you!!! You have such a great use of your capitals as well as lower case letters. Oh by the way I can only sponser by entry fees to your wonderful track. Hope that will at least buy you a meal at your favorite fast food establishment.

We can beat that!!! That kart will have to much push, and engine geometry is wrong. But at least you went with ford engines.

As far as the rules go there has to be a written rule book in BLACK AND WHITE!!! I hate rulebooks written in grey, and thats what we got in 2004. For me I will gladly pay the $75 for a patch as long as it comes with a rulebook!! Stop the download crap of the rules can be found here and there. If we go to that, lets just have one class run what ya brung no rules no weight and you will see my son with an ICC with nitrous on a cadet kart. Good luck catching him!!!

WOW for an average of one post a month that one sure includes a lot of food for thought. I will only comment on one item at this time. I am very greatful that we had a sanctioning body this year with tech.. I know there were things that did not go right and even a few personal complaints by me. However we need a sanctioning body with written rules if not SKUSA then one of the other nationaly recognized sanctioned karting bodies.

Heck with the weight issue. I think no weight needs to be added to any kart. If fat and out of shape thats the penalty the driver gets. Yes to those wondering i would qualify as fat and out of shape. I weigh 230 lbs. I don’t race but if I did I wouldn’t have to add lead to any kart i drove with any motor package.

I understand all too well. I drove to IMI today. 200 miles round trip just for fuel. Would have practiced but having a club race. $2.56 dollars a gallon truck gets 9 miles to the gallon “expensive”. Go Karting priceless!!!

    Dennis,

I like the claimer motor idea I would save a lot on my motor bueprinting. Suggested retail on a comer 80 is around $750. The cost to blueprint these days $1000. I would let my son race a box stock motor for first race and just put a claim on the winning motor. It all sounds good in theory, but with this example alone you will see that doesn’t work. As for the banning of a racer for an illegal motor seems kinda harsh unless its a ported and polished motor in a stock class. Most of us racers send our motors off to be built to the rules, however there are times when a motor gets built and something is not legal. We all asssume to have a legal motor back from a builder, but that isn’t always the case. The place where I personally have seen tech taken very seriously is Stars. They check the top five after qual, pre-final and final. If you have something out of spec you may not get caught the first race but you will get caught. I am not sure what the solution is for those with a sealed motor. I will put in my own two cents though that I think a sealed motor should be subject to tech internally. I could very easily see someone that does not race RMC having a motor built specifically for CSC and having it sealed by someone that knows it won’t be teched.

P.S. Wish I had a true solution, but also know there are mistakes made with motors that can cause a DQ personally.

STREETS WHATS YOUR REAL NAME??? I would love to meet you!!! I will be at the next two CSC races. It should be easy to find me. Most people know me and where my pit will be. For somone that dosen’t race you sure have an attitude.

P.S. Your post don’t seem to be sarcastic to me. So i will assume no one else sees them as sarcastic either. Just very negative without any true or realistic solutions.

If I were to race could I get a weight break? At 230 pounds I don’t think I would stand a chance. Could I enter a relief driver “MY SON”?

There is a great deal of difference in maturity and being aware of surroundings between a five year old and an 8 year old. Im not speaking on behalf of the CSC or SKUSA just what I have observed. The kid karts are a great starting point for both parents and children. You can learn a lot about kart setup and driving lines without having to add gear ratios into the equation. Thats my two cents curious as to the other responces bound to show up on this one.
