ParticipantI would like to see a mini max class for jr1. That would make for one engine package that would last at least a season without rebuilds. I understand that one of the engine builders built illegal animals in that class, so those people are going to be out money for a new motor for next season. I also would love to see novice shifter continue, as I think the class will grow. Either way I will be having to rebuild comers for Stars, and a shifter motor for either SKUSA or I.K.F. for next year. No im not rich I just have priorities karts first eating and housing second.

ParticipantIf there are going to be motors provided for one class I think motors should be provided for all the classes to include 125 PRO. If we can’t do that then lets have a real TECH with proper tools!!!!

ParticipantGood reason for having a paid TECH with the proper tools to perform the required procedures. I have been checking prices for blueprinting a comer, and have found most charge $350.00 for the blueprint. Is a comer 50 brand new $1150.00 or more? Why are we not following the same rules as the rest of the country? I see absolutely no reason to be drilling out mufflers and changing gear ratios in a class that should require little to no special setup. Baby carts in the rest of the country run an 89tooth rear gear and a spec on the muffler as well. If your going to come up with the excuse that we are at high altitude and this adjust for it, thats foolish!! If everyone is competing with the same equiptment and it just happens to be slower at this altitude WHO CARES?

ParticipantStacy your diligence has payed off. You have one more vote for mini max, and since you are a track owner maybe you can make it happen.

ParticipantI for one would like some decisions made well before next season starts. I am planning on running Stars of Karting at the national level with my son, as well as SKUSA and or I.K.F with the shifter kart. I am trying to figure out a budget as well as decide if im rebuilding an animal. I am also leaning toward the mini max for the CSC . $2200 for a motor that would run a season without a rebuild sounds nice to me. I went through three comer motors and one animal at the CSC, which far exceeds the cost of a mini max.
Hope some decisions are made soon,

ParticipantFirst and foremost we are not following SKUSA’s Rules. Case in point the Kawasaki 60 kart is to run on Bridgestone YHC and the 80/85 restricted is supposed to be on a harder compound tire, and to the best of my knowledge there is no exception listed on the Colorado Karters rules. So again provide a set of rules that are black and white. I do not belong to SKUSA and last I knew we are not running a sanctioned program. This needs to be corrected for next year. If we are going to be our own entity in the karting world the least we can do is provide a set of written rules, and no exceptions to those that are willing to participate in non sanctioned events.

ParticipantI can let you know one builder not to use. That is Precision Cams they have poor customer service. I bought an animal from them, that had let go with less than five hours on the motor, and they were rude. So now they have me helping them out giving them a bad rep.

ParticipantI do not see a problem at all with Cole running a shifter. He has never in the times we have been at the track been a safety issue. I started my son straight from a comer 50 into a shifter kart at age seven. It only took about three hours for him to get the shifting down to an art. If there is any class that I am afraid for my sons safety it is in the Jr.1 class. However the only way to get experience is to practice and race. If there are those out there that don’t want to take the risk then don’t race. If it’s fun then there is danger involved. Would rather be hurt myself then to not enjoy life. I have comer 80’s and would love for a comer 80 class. The track owners could make more money off me. I would run my son in three classes. Comer 80, jr1, and novice shifter.
My three cents worth,

ParticipantOn the subject of gas. What Is the CSC’s spec fuel and oil for each of the classes? What Is the spec oil to be run in the four stroke’s? If there is none how can you tech? Gee sounds like another good reason for the CSC to write the rules in Black and White. NOT GREY

ParticipantEverybody probably has a different answer to this question. I however run the chain as loose as possible on both my sons shifter kart as well as his Jr 1 kart. My son has so far never lost a chain in a race. At very minimum find the tight spot on the cain and get 1/4 inch of slack at that point.
Hope that helps

ParticipantI for one agree that the series needs to get it’s act together. There are different rules at each of the tracks. I think a standardized format and set of rules are needed. Almost feel like we are running at “KING GEORGES'” track C.R.E.. Although the rules don’t change weekly like they do at his track, the racers and racers parents need a firm set of rules which each track owner will enforce. As to the CSC I for one would like to see as many tracks involved as possible to include temp circuits. If a track owner dosen’t want to see variety, let me know and I for one won’t help support your track with my money.
thank you,

ParticipantIf you want to test fuel, you need to get the three tracks to agree what fuel they will have on hand and test to that along with a specified oil and ratio. The other option is to have PARC FERME. Last but not least don’t tech.

ParticipantJeff,
Thanks for letting me know about your animal thats for sale. I have already got one on order, and going to use our comers for back-up. If you know of someone with a stock cr80 please let me know.
thank you
hotwheels1517
ParticipantAngie, yes I think Brandon will have a restricted 80 by next race. I am not absolutely sure though. Been going through the money like im a millionaire. It sure is fun to spend like one till the bills come in! I am trying to find a used cr80 as the “millionaire” is worried just a little on his outgoing expenses right now. But can’t wait to see how fast Brandon will be with the animal.
