InactiveOkay Guys,
Looks like i may have some time to start tinkering with the kart. So I will be posting newbie questions as I find my knowledge base less than adequate. Please be patient as the questions will seem very obvious to an experienced karter.
Remeber I am completely new to the game of karting and as such have no technical knowledge when it comes to anything with karts. :idn: Many thanks to Sam Walls for giving me a push in the right direction. 😀
Newbie question #1 of thousands.
How much slack should I run on the drive chain? If the chain is taught, how much deflection up and down should there be?
Thanks in advance.

ParticipantEverybody probably has a different answer to this question. I however run the chain as loose as possible on both my sons shifter kart as well as his Jr 1 kart. My son has so far never lost a chain in a race. At very minimum find the tight spot on the cain and get 1/4 inch of slack at that point.
Hope that helps

InactiveThanks,
I will make the adjustment. The chain had about 3/4 of an inch of static sag which I knew was way to much.
