Perhaps you should focus on the positives that do exist instead of the perception of disorganization.

    For instance:

    01) Spend time with the family.
    02) Put on a helmut and driving suit and go race somebody.
    03) Meet new folks with the same passion. Make new friends.
    04) Teach your kids something that they will appreciate for the rest of their life. Keep them off the street and into good GPA’s.
    05) Learn how to use tools, mix fuel, change tires, get greasey…..
    06) Find out how to deal with adversity and extreme weather changes.
    07) Travel to new cities, stay in hotels, shoot off fireworks, drink beer, smoke cigars, swim in pools and check out the umbrella girls….
    08) Watch Bobby the Backmarker and Ian the flagger.
    09) Eat brownies and cookies the pit mom’s bake the night before each race.
    10) Throw the water bottle for the IMI pit dog to chase.
    11) Get Cole to smile 😛 That always makes everyone else smile along with him. 8) 😛 😀 😮 🙂 :sun: :loony: 😉
    12) Watch kids like Ace grow up to be superstars and race on TV.

Anybody else got any favorite things to do on race day?

Nobody has more passion than you Rich. Just channel it in the right direction and everything else will fall into place.

Rich, you worry too much. What is going to change in TAG Masters? Nothing is going to change in ICC other than weight, and that is a track adjustment on race day.

Don’t piss the powers to be off on the rules being published or there will be major changes.

Unless you are going to run with the kids your program will have no major changes.

Once again, if you build your program around RMAX, or TAG USA, how could you possibly not fit into the CSC?

    RELAX BUDDY.

Thank you all for being so patient

    Angie,
Is it safe to assume 385# for Pro ICC, MS98, MG Yellow and same color numbers from 05? Also, I would like to challenge the oil mix rule. If we can pass a test with the same perimaters using a different blend, can we use a different product other than the mix we ran last season? Or is this going to open up a can of worms? There are some better brand products out there that can save motors from getting buggered up with bean oil.

    Thanks is advance,
    Curt

Just a quick update on last night?s meeting.
It was nice to see another new face, excuse the pun, in the crowd as Don New came to find out what we were all up to. What Don found was another spirited meeting bursting with passion, ideas, agreements and disagreements. A typical meeting on Wednesday is spent having all the team leaders discuss their weekly progress and then discussing ideas on how to solve the next big issue on hand. Promoting a kart race is a lot like construction, its problem solving at its highest levels. Someone once told me, ?there is a solution to every problem, and if you do not have the solution, then you are the problem?. God I miss that guy.

Anyway, my primary responsibility is track safety and corner workers. My biggest problem today is not having enough flags, and too many corner workers! Who would have thunk it? We are going to have two classes for our corner workers just before the event, and we have a full fleet of rescue vehicles at this time. Things are pretty well in safety land.

Let?s just hope that Doug and AJ have too many track set-up and tear down folks, Scott has too many major sponsors, Drew has too many VIP?s to announce to, Jay has too many pre-registered races to pit, the hotel does not have enough rooms? These are the type of problems we are looking forward to solving. All in all, we are moving very fast with this race and the calendar seems to be racing by at F1 speeds.

When you see the pre-registration form hit the GGP site you may want to jump fast and procure a pit and hotel rooms before you end up in one of the many cattle pens. This race is going to be something special in just its first year. Rumor has it we will have 13+ entries from our friends in Utah. Those guy?s are scary fast! Plus, we are already looking at adding another ? mile of STREET to the 2nd Annual GGP. How is that for a teaser?

Thanks again to Duff and Craig for the on-site marketing efforts they are working on at CNS. We all would like to thank all of the efforts put forth by everyone who has attended our meetings, and I look forward to seeing new faces at the meetings to come.

“We never should have allowed the ICC motors in this country in the shifter classes either ! ” :bs: :bang :bs: :rotate: :lame

    Your killing me.

Sorry about that JB, but leave us folks who want to stay on top of the latest technologies out of this thread.
The Honda vs. Comer is a good topic for discussion, but 73 ICC entries in OK was pretty damn impressive. Plus, it’s going to be a long time before you see 70+ thumpers line up for a pro shifter race.

    Thanks,
    See you in May!

Greeley is a rain race. In my opinion, all CSC races should be rain races. All other tours and series races are run in the rain, why not us.

This is all easy for me to say since I do not drive a kart. :sun:

    Duff,
Way to go! There will be vendor tents available and I am sure we can find a place to store the goods at night, so just work on the information, displays and handouts. I have a STARS video already edited with no commercials that has lots of exciting on board video and commenating to run with your other video materials.
I would like to see the other kart shops offer to offset the cost of printing also. Perhaps Brad and JB can print some rental discount coupons along with the CSC schedule and locations on the reverse side.
Lot’s of discussion has already been had at our meetings along these lines. It’s going to take people like yourself to pull it off now and make it happen.
Please plan on attending our next meeting to wrap up your plans, and we will help point you in the right direction.
Thanks Again, and Welcome Abord

The meeting tonight has been postponed until next Wednesday, 3-15-06.

Same time and location. Sorry for the late notice, we just heard from Rusty and tonight is going to be rough on a few normal attendees.

The list of corner workers continues to grow and the scheduling of the “Corner Worker Workshop” is still slated for late March or early April. A firm date will be posted soon.

    Thanks,
    Curt

    Zev,
Everytime I go to Los Angeles I say the same thing when I get back to Denver. God Bless America.

Be careful over there Michael. We need all the racers we can get back here. What was your number plate? I will have Matt run your number for luck while your over there trying to make sense of the situation.

Keep cool when the sun is hot, and warm when it’s grey. Everything is going to work out over time and we will all give you high fives and hugs upon your safe return.

Thanks Craig. Ian and I picked up a few more in Greeley yesterday.

Training is TBD. Thinking late March when our list of workers is solid.

Rusty, Drew, Rick, AJ, Ian and I met at the GGP location yesterday and achieved a great deal of progress on track design and lay-out. Everyone had some good ideas and we found ways to make the race surface longer, safer and more efficient as far as entry, exit, pre-grid, hot grid, hot lanes for qualifying and scales/tech area.
The race surface looks smooth and fast, and the pit layout will be very convienant for the tuners and racers.

A reminder that the meeting this week will be tomorrow at 7:00. Same place.

    Rich and everyone else interested,
The conference call will cost approx. $150.00 and in my opinion, not a very productive way to generate results. Kurt F. is going to call in on direct dial-up later on in the evening to check in on our progress. He is also working on a press release to update everyone on the current status of the GGP weekend. The direct line to our meeting room is 303-937-3288 if you are interested in speaking directly to the team that is going to meet this week.

The last meeting went very well, and Scott H. did a great job in presenting just where we are, and most importantly, where we need to be. It’s how we are all going to get there that is important at this time.

The GGP needs commitments from all that are interested in donating time for a specific task or position within the commitee. There is no shortage in positions needed, and volunteer time and muscle.

I will assume that the meeting this week will be spent on filling more volunteer positions, and working up plans to start having specific task meetings for all the different projects that need to be done in order to pull off a first class event.

The room was full of folks last week that want this event to be successful. Rusty and Scott need more help than you can imagine. It’s time to step up and come forward if you are thinking about being part of this inaugural event, and being part of Colorado Karting History.

Feel free to contact me for directions: 303-901-2984

    Thank You

Thanks Mitch. This is going to be even better on MG’s this year. We look forward to seeing you and your facility. I hope we can win some of your prize money to spend in GJ the following weekend!

For anyone who is considering this event, DO NOT MISS IT! This is one of the best karting experiences you can have. Great folks, track, facility, and scenery. Plus the competition is world class.

PS: Can you get me a hot lap on the big course with Desiree driving?
