ParticipantThe best race experience we have ever had was at Moran 3 years ago. Next to Stacy’s lay-out and smoothness, Moran was a great place to race. Hanging out in Palm Springs every night was not too shabby either. 😆
Watching Matt gain confidence in taking turn 1 clockwise evry lap was worth the price of admission. By the main on Sunday he never lifted going into a banked 90 at 88mph. It was priceless. Barry and I just stood there laughing and worndering why it took till Sunday. Guess if I had the balls to drive a kart I could find out. Somethings are better off left unsloved.
Sorry to see her close, but Rocky will build another masterpiece. Thanks for the memories Moran family :spiral

ParticipantDammit Rick,
You and I had an agreement to not show anyone Matt’s new ride for ’08.
Thanks Booby, payback are a #*&@#!December 4, 2007 at 5:01 am in reply to: CSC Banquet – Dec 15 – Double Tree Hotel – Westminster #59671Curt Kistler
ParticipantI spoke with Ian tonight and he wanted me to let everyone know that due to his fathers death in New Jresey he will unfortunately miss the banquet this year. He said to say high to all and should be back in CO around the 15th.
He sounded in good spirits and I wished him well with a safe return. It’s people like Ian that keep all of our kids, and the rest of the karting community safe on race day. I hope he is able to return to the CSC and club scene next year to keep his safety crew and corner workers going. I always feel comfortable when I see his crew working. We all owe him a big thank you for what he does.

ParticipantEddy,
I will always support a sanctioning body, rules and standards. We all spend too much time and money to let this sport get out of hand without having a solid foundation that makes for a well run, and safe day of racing. I hope your meetings go well and you can surround yourself with some passionate karters that will add to your success.
If there is anyway I can help, please do not hesitate to contact me. I should have some extra time on my hands next season.See you at the banquet.

Look at the following kart club websites LAKC, San Diego Kart Club and the Pheonix Kart Racing Association. There are others as well. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call me.

719-640-5816Don’t these clubs have year round racing and thousands of karters at their disposal? I would be curious to find a region with 5 months of racing weather, + – 150 karters(including Jr’s), 5 different tracks and more than 1 successful karting association. By successful I mean numbers to support a full blown program with a race director, safety team, scoring and timing, corner workers, tech director, starter, year end banquet, special awards, rules commitee…….
CRE competes with the CSC and has successfully produced a racing program for over 8 years that I know of, but that seems to be it other than club racing. Adding another track or club at this time will be very risky to keep the numbers where they need to be in order to grow and succeed. Just my opinion.Curt Kistler
ParticipantGarrick & Fuzzy,
Plan on spending some time at IMI with “Mr.Blink”, Brad Linkus. You may want to call first to make sure he will be there @ 303-833-4949.Blink will take the time to fully explain all of the different power plants available, costs to purchase, planned maintenance costs, HP, torque, chassis set-up’s…..He has many motors in stock both new and slightly used, and is the service center for all of the different manufactures.
We ran one of his Orel motors in the TAG World Championships and almost won the event on a motor we knew nothing about. They are fast on top and off the bottom, sound great, easy to assemble and the lap times were that of our times in a full blown Pro ICC when we ran that class. You can even run pump gas through them for club racing and practice time to keep the cost down.
Give IMI a call and be prepared to get edjakated 😉

ParticipantIt’s only just begun for you and Jack buddy. You guys ran very well in Vegas and Jack’s ontrack improvement over the past 3 years has been very impressive. It’s always great watching both of you guys, and you are just what the sport of karting needs to grow. Keep up the hard work and I expect to see Jack standing on the podium at the Supernationals 12 next year.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family as well. And Happy Holidays to all of the Colorado Karting Community.

ParticipantPlease do not even consider running Cadets together with full blown TAG’s and Shifters for an extended period of time. This does not make for a safe environment for either party. It would just be a matter of time before someone gets hurt.
Thanks,Curt Kistler
ParticipantThe sound system will also be provided by a Colorado native. Matt’s big bro Davo will be providing the awsome sound system and FM broadcast for SKUSA, and Rob Howdens call for the third year.
The “Hour of Power” will be another rockin time this year. He will also be installing the timing loop back to the pre grid area so we can all watch the scoring at real time.
This year the track is being set up completely different from years past at Sam Boyd Stadium. Check out the track design and you can see what I am talking about.
We are working really hard to tie the broadcast into the football stadium so everyone watching from the rim, the preffered sopt to spectate, can also hear the announcements, music and action.Curt Kistler

ParticipantAs many of you know we are going to move into a DSR program with the SCCA as our next racing venture. From what I learned in Topeka at the Runoff’s a couple of weeks ago, it is going to take us a couple of years at best to put something together that is track worthy. Yes they are expensive, and yes we have lot’s of stuff to do in order to get Matt into a seat with all of the liscense, training, and apparel necessary to get to the next level. Not all of us have JR Osborne funding and we are going to keep this racing thing within our personal budgets. Along with Matt attending college next year, we will take our time building a car.
Having said all that, I cannot leave karting so fast. The Colorado Karting community has been in my blood for too many years. I have offered my services to Angie, and I will offer anything to the CSC that will help it grow into the future. Hopefully we can get a board together to help Angie and the track owners put something together for 2008 that makes sense and allows the number of entries to grow. We are just like all of the other karting communities across the country, but we are unique just like all the other communities as well. One size does not fit all, and someone is going to feel left out or hurt in the process. It is going to take real involvement and effort, not verbal assults and lip service. Hopefull I can add some sort of value to the process and stay involved within a community where we have made many friends for life.
I look forward to seeing what the next step in this process is going to be.
Thanks,
