They can be all over the place in price and value. A bar frame is far from a race ready with bells whisels and extra gear.
Your pricing is off in my opinion, keep in mind a rotax motor runs about 2500.00 and you still need about 2500.00 to race it on something decent.
I have five old karts I wouldn’t think of selling for $1500.00

At the kart racing tracks there will be karts for sale too.
Have you rented any yet? I know shopping isn’t a guy thing but ya got to do it to learn too. Where did you see them $700.00 karts? 😛

Nice, No need to jump into it until you know more then ey?
I would be at “THE TRACKS” for the next two weekends recording all my stupid questions getting answered.
I saw your post on a good value for your first kart if you have the money burning a hole in your pocket. I bet you could be spinning laps today.
Getting laps in is key, no matter when or what you later choose to race.
Rotax is really got a lot going for them to grow to be even more popular than before. Not racing this year would only hurt your preparations for racing next year. This is the first time I have seen national kart raceing in this community. I hope it becomes more of a trend for years to come, but this year the experiance could be quite affordable to buy.
Good Luck, kart racing is a blast.

“How ’bout adult chassis w/ small rear tires?”

That wouldn’t change the advantage of a shorter wheel base the cadet chassi has.

I read here in this post that there is all ready at least one person that can’t get down to 265 minimum.
Shure racing a kart with out lead is nice, but the reality of most racing has some weight added to make more people fit into a class.
If a new racer is looking to race in a class they will first eliminate the classes that they don’t fit into, very unlikely will they join a class that they don’t fit into and then ask that class to change the rules for them.

just my opinion, but running alky in these industrail motors is the cheepest bang for the buck you can buy. Cleaner burning, cheeper to buy, cooler running temps, no carbon build up, doesn’t stink, safer, and a nationally accepted fuel of choice.

Just build it with a nice flat roof to race on, that would make a new meaning to “run off”.
I’d love a different job, but I am stuck in the middle slope area.
I have some land here I’ll trade for helicopter rides to kart races.
Also have a large Deep Cryogenic Processor that needs to be put to use.

I see in my 2006 book there is only 3 pages that deal with the stock animal motor rules. Section 704
As far as type of class “JrII” I don’t think CSC goes by much if any of WKA series class rules, Like Sprint Gold cup series section 264.4 which is restricted flathead competition. The only WKA Briggs Jr. sprint class that uses the animal is the section 264.7 which is Briggs Restricted Junior Lite & Heavy.
I don’t think we have used any restrictors for our Jr. Briggs racers in the past, but we did have a local gas only, stock flywheel key and OEM brouched cam rule at one time. I don’t have a kid in the hunt, but would like to know if we are using the WKA Section 704 stock animal rules.
That would mean running no restrictor with methanol fuel.

Not to confuse the current topic, BUT.
Uncle Frank will be introducing his OHV Blue Wazom this summer at around $850.00.
The flathead Blue was a good value with a means for controlling parity, I am just thinking that the new Blue may just pan out to be even more popular.
MHPS, I am glad to see someone pushing Briggs stuff in the Denver area market, Good Luck.

“So it looks like there are 5 people interested in the Animal class. Are there anymore out there……?”

I think there is about 3 million people around here that don’t yet know racing a kart is with in there budget, and none of them will be at the Go kart meeting.

“What if” your quick assessment to make someones day. Ended with the 13 holes in one of your loved ones? Just how much of a problem is it to be ready and waiting, while awakened from a deep sleep?
Would you feel safer if everyone in your house was prepaired to make someones day when they are awakened?
Being prepaired is one thing, yet too much anticipation and preperation could change the out come of, Good Morning Dear…….Bang-bang-bang-bang-bang-bang.
Is the “safe place” near your pillow?

Fired up the 1949 Grader Friday to move snow. It doesn’t even have to snow anymore for the wind to drift in the drive ways.
Not shure what I’m going to do for my karting habbit. My collection just keeps growing as the value and use for it drops. It would be so much easier if I didn’t have anything to start with.
I see in on the news that many winter time activities are being set up in Denver during this snowy/cold spell. Is there any other karters besides me, looking for a smooth pond to play on? It’s hard to motivate my right hand man, playing with myself.

Na, just adjust the weight according to who the tuner is.
Or install a Handi-cap magnet strip in the tracks surface that slows the fast guys down.
Or we could adjust according to the Racers Team’s total, of last years Gross Income Tax Statement?
    Ya, that’s the ticket.
Ya know lead is next, EPA freaks have all but eliminated tire preps in the name of health issues for karters. How long do you think they will put up with these idiots making a hobby out of playing with lead?
Sorry I am a little board waiting for my spec rotory loto ticket to win.
Rotory tire rules:?? Stickers manditory for time trials, Pea picked for the final.. LOL That would be cool.. you would have to wear them out in the pre final. YBN’s?

Roadrunner, Yes it does sound as if the “normal club series” is like totaly terminated except in the southern and western Colorado region. I’ll go out on a limb and say that it was a great idea.
In the past we have had 4 club series orginized to get kart racers to race togather with each one having about 15 race dates that overlaped like crazy. This meant if there are say 40 Jr. Tag racers in Colorado and 4 tracks racing on the same day you would be lucky to have 10 other racers to race against in one of the “Clubs”. If you were unlucky and choose the wrong track to go to that day you could even end up with nobody to race against. Combining two area tracks to one race series will make it very easy to know where your fellow competitors will be at and will also make winning that series not so Lame.
Lame would be if all 5 of our sprint tracks had seperate clubs and race days promoted to all the same racers on the same day.
We only have about 20 weekends to have fun doing this. Not haveing 75 races to choose from makes the odds much better to be at a track that has someone to race against.

Looks like Swedetech might need to reduce the mister orifice and run a girdle on their stock moto packages. Got an extra box of welding rod if you need it.

Road runner, Your best bet is to experiance what it is like on the track with worn out tires and not so worn tires. A new set runs about 180 bucks.
Many teams do have enough money to buy new sets for every race and are willing to recover some of there investment of there 1 race day set and will sell there used set for penny’s on the dollar.
There is no “NEED” to race. But sence you have a kart you might find it rather fun to do. Running tires to the cords is something every racer should have some experiance in even if they can afford new ones every time on the track. New tires are nice and so is winning races. You being a “new guy” will find that wareing out any tires you have will be a learning experiance that can not be replaced with a set of new tires.
Once the “need” to go faster takes over any logic you have about money you will buy some new tires and probably go a little faster.
You have the entire season to hone your personal needs with your new sport. I wouldn’t worry about having enough tires for the season as it only takes a few minutes to change them after having lots of fun wearing them out. Good Luck, I hope I can get to the track and meet you so we can enjoy wearing out some tires togather.
