    Rich,

Wrong. The TaG Masters class (the class the spectators demand 20 laps) started at about that time

It was a long day sure but it was a fun day without doubt

Do you have a photo of me using reverse in the TaG Masters Final? Does anyone?

Kurt: well thought out post and pardon me but what is MMP track??? I like restricted 125 instead of 80’s. It’s another engine they can use while they move up in class and get a carb instead of a new engine.

Brad, Doug, What are your thoughts on that.

Finally, practice mornings of race day, why can’t we combine similar classes at the longer tracks (not Bandimere due to length)

Charles and Rick: Thanks for the kind words! That was the most fun finishing off the podium I’ve ever had and NO don’t ask me to do it again. Bill Ray told me the Motori 7 had a reverse gear. I now believe him. Rick and Mike Frank, thanks for all your help. I would never have started Sunday without it.

Jim, you have one heck of a track and the staff is great. Yes, the cold towels were a plus. I am really looking forward to racing there next time! I just hope it’s a BIT cooler then! 8)

In F1 and in Indy and in Champ car you get NO practice on race day! Your practice days are the days leading up to the race. By then you should have enough data to adjust.

That said, I hear you Ian. It’s more exciting watching 15-30 karts versus 4 to 6 karts. The writings on the wall. Consolidate. Or eliminate practice race day. Or both. I’d rather eliminate and consolidate.

    Craig,

I’m sorry you enjoy to air dirty laundry but I for one was raised better. It was handled in a private manner, the plaintiff was satisfied with the result (behind closed doors) and case closed. Now, if it wasn’t resolved or the perpetrator didn’t step up, then flame him.

I don’t watch Jerry Springer or act like the idiots on that show. I’d expect the same here in this forum and from all other karters… Let us lead by example and the way this was handled was fine. The perpetrator should have initiated this? You bet. Case closed.

    Track Baby:

I just want to say thank you for the way you handled this unfortunate situation. You called the person out in a “classy” manner and didn’t name names. I’m glad it got resolved to your likings. Your parents have taught you some valuable “life lessons” and for that I salute you.

    Jim:

Awesome track, awesome facility, great announcing and overall a classy operation, thanks!

Other than the obvious I’d like to point out a suggestion if i may. Since you have the blower could you try to use it between Q, Heats and Mains while the rescue vehicle is out getting stranded karts. I know we ran out of time this time but I know you’ll have it figured out by the next round. Also, thank you SO much for the towels, it was a godsend during the day trying to keep cool.

Finally, next time a simple salute as I go flying by backwards would be fitting. Although I doubt there will be a NEXT time like that! :loony:
Does anyone have a photo of my stunt driving, I’d really like to have one if there is a photo..

Thanks you made my day! I laughed so hard I almost blew a lung! Welcome to Colorado karting! Introduce yourself if you’re going to be at the CSC race this weekend or during practice. Or IMI any other time.

Thanks again. I can’t get rid of the smile and everyone’s wondering what I’ve done….

    😉

In F1 during the 80’s they had the “drop” schedule. Carrio was in the same position as Alain Prost and he too lost the championship.

I personally HATE racing on Memorial day weekend and Mother’s Day. But I’ll use it as a drop if I am allowed.

But another reason to point out is this: two guys are close in points for the championship. One punts the other one off and preserves his championship. And don’t say it doesn’t happen. Schummi did it twice in the 90’s and won one championship (over Damon Hill) and lost a championship (to Jacques Villenueuve) That said, I’d rather have 5 and no drop.

Run the TaG Jr’s with us I don’t care. But I’d like to have a waiver from parents acknowledging that their kids are racing adults and racing is racing. We’ll be the moving obstacles since their times are faster. Does it matter if they have an accident with an adult vs. a kid?

I keep telling Rich to watch his Fetzer valve but he’s not listening. Perhaps one day he’ll clean it and all will be well with him! 8)

Break it in right and you’ll have a happy rotax. Good luck!

That’s the stock one and put the clip position down to three, max. Again, bogs are not harmful but lean k-blammos are.

And please, check the fetzer valve and make sure it’s inserted correctly. It’s all about ball bearings nowadays…. 8)

I burned incense last weekend, sacraficed a chicken and was looking for the sacraficial virgin (no luck) so my 20 lap mains are on buddy. Even finishing all the 10 lap heats. It’s all looking up for me.

I agree with Charles. I’d have no problem running with juniors but again, parents would be screaming about their babies.

Since I destroyed a lower rod needle bearing after break in (and you’re right it’s not fun $$$) I would suggest following a few tips stated.

    1) use an old plug and run the mixture rich. The plug’s junk afterwards but you’ll not stick it
    2) Don’t use a 98 needle

3 heat cycles is enough as long as you let it cool for a while and ambient isn’t necessary just 10 minutes between.

I will say that Welch and Vito haven’t blown an engine and neither did I so do it right and it’ll treat you right too. I can’t emphasize being rich enough. It’ll only foul the plug. Once it’s broke in you can let the engine clean itself!

Racing on Saturdays is out for me. I have work to do on Fridays and I consider myself blessed when (at times) I can take a friday off to test (like this friday!). If we go that way, I’ll club race at IMI and The Track.

The only thing I see wrong with CSC is too many classes. And again we’re rehashing a tired subject that no one has the “stones” to decide on. I understand and applaud (and I’m not picking on you just using you as an example) the Greg Johnson’s of the Briggs class but again, is it more fun racing against 4 or racing against 20? The classes that don’t have full participation need to go, period. They could sell their equipment to racers in other regions and “step up” and get compliant to our area. Ellie Mae’s in TaG this year. She stepped up, why can’t others? Is there a cost associated with the upward move? Absolutely.

I am NOT for a PKC sanction. Again why reinvent the wheel. I think we’ll see a well run race this weekend @ THE TRACK and lately all tracks have stepped up in their organization. Again, the delay of the day is amount of races, period.

Finally, why do you think SKUSA, PKC and other organizations are looking at us? $$$$. Let’s not become prostitutes now. Stay the course and get better, regaurdless of what Mr. Moore continues to say.

In closing: Saturday racing, bad. Sunday racing, good. CSC good, other alphabets, bad. Too many classes, bad. Condense classes, very good. And Doug’s idea of combining the shifters isn’t a bad idea. Spec Honda’s numbers will only get bigger and PRO ICC’s smaller…

Good discussion in a constructive and healthy way.
