Participantspeaking of Action Karting; are we going counter clockwise again when we race there next month?
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?Mike Jansen
ParticipantBrad:
Spot on.
How many people are like me who would like to do this “local event with Nationwide inspirations” but will instead do what they always do: Enjoy the holiday and the time away from the city. I for one would rather be with friends and family at Indianapolis watching real racing. Y’all knock yourselves out.
However, if you REALLY want to make this thing grow you’ll think about the vendors and the paying public and move this to a weekend like any other weekend and THAT gives the public a diversion from their everyday routine. In its present state you’ll get sponsors and vendors but the novelty will soon wear off.

ParticipantFinally!
I agree. Do it on a weekend when we could have a CAPTIVE audience.Mike Jansen

Angie,
Personally, I think we should have them included with our registration packets at every race. 8)

ParticipantYes I did on the infield section and only once on the entry into the main straight when I hit the bump instead of around it…
I guess that means Bandimere is out of the question too eh? 😆

Participantthanks for the feedback Doug. So, how much tension is just enough chain tension? That is the only thing I can figure since everything else was followed to the T.

ParticipantTaG Masters
a lot less maintenance; you can compete with equally engined karts ie no open checkbook racing; cheaper than a competitive shifter; you learn how to drive smooooooth with momentum and you can’t grab a gear to bail you out of a mistake; the class the spectators love the most since there’s more passing and close racing than many other classes. (Although the Briggs class last weekend was a great one to watch)Did I mention that I have a used TaG kart for sale? Perfect for the newbie! 8)

ParticipantRickey Mikey? I’d have to be married and have two kids named Walker and Texas Ranger wouldn’t I?
Looking forward to racing this weekend. No kart tricks, no mechanical breakdowns just good clean racing in the class that the spectators demand 20 lap mains. It’s gonna be fun.

Will the race be Memorial Day weekend again?
Mike Jansen
ParticipantRich,
Yea, I finally changed. Bill Ray sold me on the fact that it has a reverse gear and Charles can attest that it really works! You just have to learn how to drive backwards at speed. See you at IMI this weekend? I’ll tell you all about the change if you want…

ParticipantTillet seat: bruised or broke ribs on left side of body. Regaurdless, it hurt to breath that’s all I remember!
Ribtech seat: Like Rich said as long as you fit in it with no sloshing around you’ll be okay!
Ribvest: I had my ribvest modified by sewing 1/8″ lexan on the outside of the vest. My vest had support but the “bats” were split in half right where the seat edge hit my seam on the vest. Now with the full length lexan strips I’ve not had a problem in 2 years. RIBTECH VESTS HAVE THE LEXAN STRIPS THE FULL LENGHT OF THE VEST. I would recommend both ribtech products. Spend a little more but your ribs will love it. And the ribtech seat is more flexible than the regular tillets so it’s a better performing seat, IMHO.

ParticipantHey There Lounge Lizard:
Since it’ll be like ships passing through the night why don’t i set it aside and give it to ya when you get here and we can pop a few suds too.
See ya soon!

ParticipantRich,
I apologize if you think that way. What I am saying is there are always three sides to a story and if CRE wants to be involved then CRE needs to STEP UP. Silence is not golden and the sideline is the just reward. I’ve personally never met George so I can’t judge.Jim: good thoughts. Combination is good. And I for one (still) don’t believe we need to prostitute ourselves to join some organization. Pay to plagerize a rule book or write a new one so we don’t get in trouble. And again I say “what can your organization do for me.”
We had SKUSA’s hand up our dress once and I’ve had enough violation for a while 8) And i still have my neato SKUSA patch. And that was worth what???????

ParticipantCurt:
I applaud your organizing efforts and if you organize it people will come. I can speak for myself and I will.
Rich, Quit speaking for George. He’s a grown man and can work this out himself IF HE WANTS TO. It’s a two way street.
From a business standpoint and let’s be realistic: you cut classes down and we reduce the amount of drivers from 100-120 to 70-80 you really think the track owners are going to salivate at that? They are in business TO STAY IN BUSINESS AND EARN A LIVING. Reality is this: combine classes on the track (except the novice class or relagate it to the club series) and if people adhere to the rule of number plates for different classes then we see: a) lots more on track action and passing b) more track time for ALL RACERS c) the opportunity to run 3-6 karts of a dying class together until it atrophies on it’s own accord. THIS GIVES US ALL OPTIONS versus stuff crammed down our throats. AND IT GIVES THE TRACK OWNERS AN OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE MORE MONEY.
I’d like to add another wrench in the spokes: Have a rental class. Pay at the door and you can race with the other 4 cycle karts (they have experience, they’ll know how to get around you) and let’s see how many people actually would enter the karting fold that way… Just a thougth.
We as racers are trying to shove demands down the throats of the track owners. I’m absolutely positive that’s going to work. I don’t know the debt service of the track owners but whatever occurs, they need to make M O N E Y. How many corporate days has THE TRACK had in the last month or rentals? It more than makes up for our test and tune days dontcha think?OOps. I’m rambling. Out… 8)

ParticipantLike we’ve said all along: eliminate or combine classes at the CSC level and “anything goes” at the club level
