Participantrace car show-and-shine
Hmm, my kart wont qualify for that part unless they have a ‘scuffed and scratched trophy’, but that would be a great time for local shops to trot out a few karts. Good info on the show!

ParticipantNIiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice…I like the pursuit idea…I also like the opportunity to knock people down as they try to get to their karts. Physical contact should not be black flagged BEFORE we get to our seats, hahaha. (tie a competitor’s shoelaces together before the start, etc.) Since I am not a big guy, i will have to be VERY nefarious!

ParticipantI can speak for my own experience…I had a blast in a field of 16 (or more?) karts. I had someone to dice with. Who cares that it was a minimax kicking my butt in the infield or that it was a junior leopard motor (Zippie!!) that just dusted me on the last lap? I thought it was cool to be racing against a 50 hp rotary. No one got their shorts wound up about things being ‘fair’ or ‘legal’. Good music, relaxed racing. The free beer and lovely umbrella girls were the best part. Oh did you guys miss that part?

interesting…
What’s gonna happen in the shifty world? Anybody coming out with a purpose built 4 stroker? If 2 cycles go away – that should put an end to the moto v.s. kart motor debate – I don’t see 4 strokes from bikes on karts.
thoughts?
Gary
Gary, see Blink’s previous post ref the Vampire motor (250 single) where they say they are developing a gearbox for the motor…actually that may have been Doug Welch…but still, YES I am confident there will be a kart specific (not moto based) 4 stroke shifter.
Blink..maybe you could elaborate since I am talking out my a$$ about your engine and wildly speculating about hearsay…wait a minute that’s what we DO here on the internet!!

What is going to happen to the rotax program?
Is Rotax making a 4-stroke?
Rich, no one said anything about 2 strokes getting outlawed or phased out…I think your rotax will be OK. I think people are speculating on what MIGHT happen, get out your crystal ball and jump on the speculation bandwagon.
YES Rotax makes a 4 stroke…click here to see if it will fit on your chassis!

ParticipantI’ll be there on saturday for practice and racing on sunday. On that note, does anyone have any LOW LAP count MG’s for sale (used obviously)?
I am going to run my YHC’s on sat (down to the cords) but would like a set of MG’s for sunday.
On a budget (arent we all?) and need to save a few bucks. Post here or send me a PM if you have a good set of MG’s.
THANKS!!!

ParticipantThat’s why he’s the PR guy…he has a way with headlines. sucked me right in, but didnt leave me disappointed with the content. Made me laugh.
Kurt, give yourself a raise.

ParticipantThanks Jansen, maybe sometime you can show me your advanced Motori Move with a reverse triple Lindy.
I’ll be hanging ANOTHER 30lbs on my lead sled Easykart to make weight for Masters…dang that thing is getting heavy. I am giving up on those fast senior ‘kids’. If I can knock another couple seconds per lap off my current times, i might actually be a mid to back of the pack racer. 390lbs for easykart…same weight as the Motori…still scratching my head on that. I think whatever engine EK sent in for homologation must have been a screamer. (i’m getting off subject again)
I’ll be at the Track on the 23rd and 24th. See you guys out there!

Unfortunatley its hard to be a beginner here when the club racing really has died compared to 4 years ago
Let me clarify..I am not lamenting that I have nowhere to race, I have found myself very happily running club races at The Track. I guess i just got a wake-up call at the CSC race as far as how much MORE i need to practice and learn. (no problem with that, every new racer gets his hat handed to him eventually). I see club racing as junior-varsity (me) and the CSC is where the Varsity goes to see who’s got the chops and who gets the bone.
Frankly, I am in favor of a qualifying standard for each race to keep the standards at a high level for the final. example: top qualifying time is a 56 second lap; make the cut-off for the final 110% of the pole sitter. 1:01 and change..you’re in. 1:02? You’re cheering or beering.

I guess a good question would be,
How many racers would still do the Greeley race if were not part of the CSC? Still another question, how many did it this year only because it was part of the CSC?
Doug.. i ran the GGP as my only CSC race and my first ‘big’ race. I set the GGP as my goal for the start of the season..finish and not take anyone out. I met my goal. I did that race in particular because I thought it would be cool to do a streets race. Turns out, I can have fun in a big parking lot, too.
I will run it again next year but not BECAUSE it is or is not part of the CSC, only because it seems like a one-off that could be really cool. I will not be running the CSC series until i can finish a club race on the lead lap. The GGP taught me that the CSC is not for beginners. (point taken).

Participantno worries, guys, i thought the CSC was a mountain states REGIONAL series (yes i know what the initials stand for). My mistake. Somebody should tell Reaction Karting that this is only a Colorado series.
Just helping a slow day go by with provocative postings, not to be confused with ‘trolling’. I do enjoy this repartee

ParticipantWhen is Miller Motorsports Park going to start clamoring for a place on the CSC schedule? If the Uthans (is that a word?) can make it all the way over here to the front range, could we make it to THE MONSTER sometime? (double points season finale?) I know, I know, too many races…and I am just putting forth another discussion point. HOWEVER, as a counterpoint to my rambling, if Centrix ever build the oft-rumored track near Longmont, maybe we’ll have ANOTHER world class facility to add to our considerable wealth of quality tracks in the area; thus making the trek to The Monster moot.
Do any rumors of the rumored Centrix track include rumblings of a kart track? I would hope that if they are to build another ‘world class facility’ that it would include a kick ass kart track.
Thoughts? Comments? (don’t flame me for the MMP suggestion)

More engines more classes?????
We potentially diluting the market
Only diluting the market as far as the other manufacturers now have more competition. I doubt Brad is pushing for a whole new TaG class, but rather for additional motor choices within our current structure. These motors will *probably* be TaGUSA approved in the next year or so, no harm in a few of us mountain region racers being at the vanguard and racing them. If they have a couple more horsepower than current comparable motors then we just start these motors at the back of the field or run them as unscored in the ‘official’ standings. No need to jump off into the rules ‘deep end’ and panic about weights or parity just yet.
*disclaimer* I am a closet 4-stroke fan. I cant WAIT to see these new motors and hear them run. I’m going out back to water and fertilize that money tree again.

ParticipantBrad that looks AWESOME! I guess there is some payback for being the importer! I couldn’t find any info on the Oral 250…is that another twin like the Biland? Is the Vampire 4-stroke single also eligible? Hope you’ll post some pics when you return.
Congrats to all the racers going overseas!
