    For immediate release.
    8-9-11 Golden, CO

In their quest for late season parking lot domination, Wood Source Racing and Scuderia Ghetto Motorsports are in heavy negotiations, pointing towards a dual entry in the premier S2 class at the 3rd round of the SKUSA Mountain Region Championship. The team has been sharpening their skills on and off the track up to this point in the season. For the remainder of 2011, this partnership is focused on attaining a level of equipment preparation and driver fitness perhaps never before seen.

Asked for a quick quote as the Wood Source Racing boss hurried from negotiations to join the test team at an undisclosed testing facility, he simply said “If you ain’t first, you’re last.”

Great event. Good job, Tony. You did well when Rob handed it off.

Congrats to Christian Schureman on his first Pro Tour podium in the S2 class. I missed it a little on Saturday afternoon, but we had a great Sunday final.

Congrats also to Flyin’ Ryan Rudolph. He put together a well poised win on Sunday, leading every lap in S5.

That’s an awfully steep hill to climb. 😆

This year, it looks like I won’t be racing much at all, but I’m stoked to tune for Christian Schureman on the Pro Tour. Maybe I’ll do a few LeMons endurance races. There is something that I’d really like to take a shot at. I’d love to win the USF2000 test day attached to the Rock Island King of the Streets. The test day would be a pretty big deal, and could lead to a start at the St. Petersburg rounds of the 2012 championship. I’m in the best shape of my life, and I won’t be able to afford a formula car any time soon, so that path to a test seems as likely as any.

Good luck to all you guys in achieving your goals this year, on and off the track.

I’d think you could burn the hell out of some fuel in the suburban for years before the cost would offset another vehicle.

I did the $200 trailer behind my daily driver for a few years. It is wildly cheap, but packing/unpacking it got a little old.

Welcome, Jesse. Kirk, I think this kart was previously Steve’s. It’s in awesome shape. I think we always ran c12 fuel in it just to be safe, but I’m not certain it was necessary at this altitude. I wouldn’t run ms98 if you can get anything more potent.

Have fun. That thing is a rocket ship. I think I got it into the 51s at IMI in the only club race I drove it in.

That was a fun week, Ron. I was just happy to be there and help out where I could. All the RMKW S5 drivers did a good job. You S5 dads have a lot to be proud of.

Let the supernats chatter commence. Equipment is on the way and lots of us are traveling in the next few days. Wish I was racing this year, but I’ve probably got a better chance of a result from my tuner seat. 😆

Good luck to all the mountain region racers. Stay safe and race hard. I’ll try to post interesting things as the week goes by.

Great coverage, Angie. The weather and racing were both great. We’re on the road home. I’m beat!

Tried it, Mike? You’ll love it. I’m sure there are other heavies, but McD, Cris, Watkins, and Gordon come to mind.

Bump. I’m tweaking about getting in a kart for this again, so I’m re-watching some videos.
